Thank you very much for the movie and another very substantive discussion! Expeditions is still unplayed at my place, because Scythe has made a big comeback for now. I even consider replaying the Fenris campaign! But I feel that soon it will be time for Expeditions, because I am very intrigued by this game (and it looks at me very meaningfully from the shelf 😉). Btw. Revive is actually on its way to me already 😀 Warm greetings to both of you! PS Special cuddle for your feline star! 😍😍

Scythe is good, but Expeditions is different! A bit more of a solitaire puzzle, with a little bit of race (including the corruption markers). We hope you enjoy it! Evelyn, the cat, says hi! 🐱

Stonemaier Games has been such a huge miss for our group. We just keep finding them more and more "mechanical" and boring in the sense that all there is to explore in the game is more of the same thing but just in different amounts (for example, there aren't that many different gimmicks on cards but rather just the same with different color and number combinations.) Same for Scythe which was our favorite so far, we played the campaign (which was fun to a certain degree) and then just let it go. Also, for Expeditions, I keep hearing people praise its "exploration" mechanic which for us was barely even there. The exploration was done in the first couple of turns and after that it was all about just optimizing your movement between the revealed tiles. Now or Never's campaign suffered from the same thing where the first couple of turns were about finding out the narrative that is on the board and the rest of the game (which was more than 3/4ths of it) was basically just playing a very bland euro game.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, we really appreciate it. We get your point. The game can easily accommodate expansions, which could offer the extra oomph and variability. We really enjoyed the deck building take of the game and how you can burn cards for your upgrades.

I completely agree on the expansions part but that's also kind of a negative for me since the base game experience should be good to begin with and shouldn't require or "feel like it needs" expansions to work better and be more interesting and more replayable@@boardgamecourt
