Expedition Overland: Return to the MacKenzie Part 2
Ойын-сауық
Day 3 begins with big questions and fuel is quickly becoming a major concern. The trail's rapidly deteriorating conditions presents extreme challenges for the team and is becoming more than they bargained for. For the first time during this expedition, the team begins to doubt if they will reach the end.

No matter how many times I watch the XO team it's always so awesome. It makes me wonder if a Earthroamer can go down this trail?
You can cut a tarp to fit the front of the truck, tuck it under the hood to lock it in, but covering the grill so that when the bow wave crests the hood no water is reaching the engine compartment. Did this fording rivers in the Yukon territory. It's a quick fix, cheap, if you don't have a snorkel.
All offroad and no highways makes this a real good series. I also enjoy that the "drama" is toned down.

Loved the night drone footage of you guys on the airstrip, just awesome.
The drone footage at the end on the air strip is freakn badass.
Those night drone shots at the end are spectacular!
Really slick production guys, great night drone work as well. The airstrip night footage just puts you right there. Thanks for sharing guys
Great footage and commitment to finish!! Anyone else see the deer take off at the end of the airstrip?
Best episode yet. Airstrip aerials are next level. Well done!
That shot with the lights on, with the drone flying overhead 38:47 was absolutely the best shot I've seen in the series of what i've watched so far (New viewer here). Really brought a sense of what you were talking about, feeling small in a vast forest. Beautiful.
12:55 "Being in gear will also help with the river crossing" Hilarious!
Keep up the awesome videos guys. Toyotas and the northwest, there is nothing better!
the S in quesnel is silent. my hometown. :) pronounced kwen-nell
They ask for more off road. You ask and you shall receive. This video reminds me of you guys first adventure 3 years ago.
I'd like to thank you for a couple things. The emphasis you put on fuel was very important. Any pressure you can put on Toyota to up their MPG game is hugely appreciated. I'd also like to thank you for delving deeper into the topic of water crossings. This program is very educational and inspirational. It's something I can sit down to watch with my girlfriend. She really enjoys it and it helps her to see how awesome a trip like this would be. We'd be happy to join you.
It's like find out your favorite movie marathon is on woooooo
hey that deer on the end of the air strip, awesome,,,,had to play it couple of times!!! just amazing

love the Runner, love the Tacoma... Nice shots there... Keep on the good work and never stop xploring!!!!... Respect from Managua-Nicaragua
the last part of sky shooting is amazing! Awesome job, guys!
I love all your gear ... Really impressive setups !!
I kept checking back to see what was next. I knew you gentlemen would not disappoint. Great job, great adventure! I always say if you can inspire even one person, you have lived a purposeful life. Thank you gentlemen can't wait for the next adventure!!
What's the reason you guy's didn't run snorkels this time? Did you not expect so many water crossings or just knew if you needed a snorkel you wouldn't risk the crossing anyways? Regardless, out of everyone of your guy's videos, this is my favorite so far. I like how you guys didn't take no for an answer and pushed through the deep water anyways. The video quality is ridiculously good and the drone shots at the end made my jaw drop. Also the lighting on the rigs are crazy good!
I absolutely loved this video !!.. Now that's an adventure I'd love to go on. Great job guys !..
Ye boy! This is the best overland series ever. Even the name is epic, Return to the Mackenzie almost sounds like Return of the Jedi lol.
This whole time I've been thinking...man I can't think of a better trip than this...Then I saw those last shots on the airstrip and all I can think is wow! This just looks spectacular!
Nice! You guys really were working well together and getting it done.
Those crossings without a snorkle were dicey as hell.
A tough trip. Amazing job on the filming, editing, and overall production of this video series. Professional grade production values.
Awesome, just awesome!
you guys need to get some chest waders so you stay dry :) ... great video.

ChoyFamilyAdventures when I lived in Alaska and we went four wheeling in the backcountry we usually had a couple people that brought neoprene waders just for checking out water crossings and mud holes.
Nice shot of the moose at the end of the runway, fitting tribute to your adventure
I love the lack of contrived, reality TV style drama. This is a great series! The music was a bit depressing in the episode, though.
I absolutely idolize this group of overlanders, expeditioneers.
moose at end of air strip at 42:00. Nice trail guys
"trail intell" and "make comms", c'mon guys. Other than the OTT tactical talk it's a great series. From Australia , Cheers.
The night footage from the quad copter was awesome. As always, great job, guys!
Just breath taking. I've followed y'all from the start and am moved every season. Thank you for sharing such amazing creation and back countey that so many of us will never get to witness in person! Just amazing!
Subscribed. Why? Because this is hands down the most amazing overland channel out there. Not only that Montana boys.

The only thing that bothers me about this trip is I didn't get to go. Thanks for the documentation and sharing it with us. The drone footage is great!
drone shot at night was absolutely stunning
I watched this the first time within moments of it originally being published on KZread....I STILL get chill bumps at that ending..... speechless. You guys are awe inspiring.
Anybody else see the Moose at the end of the landing strip?
the terrain was very very difficult good job guys you guys are super humans.
Beautiful country! and such an awesome adventure! I like how you guys take the appropriate precautions when crossing water or other potential hazardous obstacles. Thats how we do it on the trails, look out for each other and respect the land!
the ending was just spectacular! fantastic work!
I honestly don't understand the love affair with unleaded shared by you and the majority of your Countryman, when Diesel gets you SO MUCH FURTHER per litre. but dam this has been a great video series. honestly you guys produce the best Overland free video series on the Net. thanks a ton for the good viewing. from down Under with envy.

sprocketdiver Only way your going to have a diesel in a Toyota in the US is to import it yourself or an engine swap. With Toyotas support of the program I'm hoping down the road if/when they travel to another continent they will be in 70 Series rigs with the Turbo Diesel!

If the EXPO world would stop their love affair with Toyotas they would get to experience diesel...the gas MPG on these Toyotas is actually horrendous... Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel Chevy Colorado Diesel Both alternates to the 4Runner and the Tacoma

but the vehicles you mention are far less quality over the Toyotas, I understand Toyota selection. Just not why America puts fuel hungry petrols in them, here in Australia the 200 series land cruzer comes with a twin turbo v8 Diesel, tuned. it makes over a thousand nm of torque and 500kw, at the tyres, yet you can drive 2000km on less than 150L of fuel on the Rd and more than 1500 off

The dealers that want to sell in the US have two really rather tough agencies to deal with, First is the EPA, Environmental Protection Agency and the second would be the DOT itself. Department of Transportation. But yes we know the Tacoma already has the Federal approved impact bumpers in the front and honestly most of us overlanders prefer to remove some if not all of the original front bumper anyways but to have a diesel offering in a Tacoma would be amazing! FWIW, don't even get started on the CARB, and the emissions laws tied to just California vehicles.
You should consider New Foundland and Labrador for your next trip, maybe starting in Key West , I have enjoyed all your videos
Love these videos. The drone airfield shot was awesome! Keep up the great work!
So glad that the series is back! Can't wait to get to a point where I can do some exploring myself... Looking forward to more! 73 de KC1AEI
Awesome. Loved the drone shot at the end, on the airstrip.
I freaking love you guys and everything you do! Y'all are the best!
Love the Channel, amazing filmographie. Pro-tip i drive gravel roads all year long at work for the last 10 years you dont need to air down your tires. I run OEM pressures in my truck tires and i had maybe 2 slow leaks and 1 puncture in 11 years and over 800k km.
minute 39:40 m83 - oblivion, RULES!!! lol cheers.
I've watched these guys from the start , each season gets better keep going , thank you for sharing your adventures
This is soooo good. You guys did an awesome job in post and getting brilliant shots.
great job on the videos!
Teamwork makes the dreamwork!
Right at 42:00 moose takes off in the shadows at the very end of the runway (from right to left). Cool airal shot!
Superb. Great story. Solid videography..

Awesome video, loved the airstrip night shots.
Dang, that was inspiring. Great job with the whole production. Can't wait to see what happens next. cheers
There was a Moose at the end of the airstrip near the end of the video, you only see it for about 3-4 seconds at 41:59

Just saw this was already pointed out, though jury is out whether it's a moose or bigfoot.
Safari Snorkel has to get their act together and release a snorkel for the 5th gen 4Runner.
Sinking the chain saws in water is probably not the best idea just saying
I know you guys love that Taco and trailer but it is always a pain, lol.
Epic adventure. 2 questions: why no snorkels when you know there are lots of water crossings and where is Toby? Keep up the great work guys. God bless.
For some reason I was feeling those mosquitos on my face too. Great trail run guys... continued...

JULIUS K If you know that you're going for to be hammered with mosquitoes, isn't there netting of some sort that you can wear? They get clobbered with mosquitoes every episode.😣

Manny Motta yeah that's an option. I think putting the net will look weird and will be the on way with their activities. After all they're explorer and they had to deal with it lol.
I like the moose at the end
absolutely fantastic guys. amazing footage
Just watching the mosquitos makes my neck and head itch!!
Christ you guys reallly are killing it with these edits!!! WOW
Awesome episode! The drone shots are amazing!
Oblivion soundtrack playing in the Tacoma at 39:37 M83 is awesome.
42:00-03 exactly.....look for it :D (in the middle of the light beam close to the top...furthest away from the vehicle, in the trees, you can see a moose or deer suddenly run to the left!!
awesome airstrip shot!!😃
Amazing videos, guys. Only issue is driving through fish streams in BC is a no-no.
Water crossings are epic!
Looks like an amazing time!! Big props! Enjoy all the vids!
More wheeling footage, thank you! Awesome adventure.
beautiful videography !
Pretty wicked guy's trip!
Teamwork and dedication! way to go guys
great video, looks like a blast
You might want to put the chainsaws in a higher spot next time for the deep water crossings. Really they should've be open to rain even. I've had bad luck with the same exact saw getting the smallest amount of moisture in the carb and having to clean everything real good before running.
Absolutely love your videos. Cheers. From BC.
just freakin awesome footage.....great job!!!
Great adventure, but it kills me to see you not fishing for dinner. You passed by some of the best trout waters on the planet...
Awesome!! Keep do what you do, I wish I could do something like this sometime!
There is a large animal running from right to left at 42:01 - just off the end of the runway :-)
Yes. Awesome teamwork
отличное видео,как всегда. молодцы,класс!
loving it guys!
awesome series.....guys
