Expanding your Practice without Reading║ Witchcraft

Today we are talking about the ways you can expand your witchcraft practice beyond just reading books, something that is very useful and I would recommend for anyone wanting to practice witchcraft. Books are amazing, but we shouldn't be undertaking our practice 100% from the words written in a book, part of the joy in the practice is finding out what works for us through trial and error.

Love this! Another idea for connecting with nature, if you can, is to sit outside at night. Stargaze, let yourself get lost in the stars or the moon, listen to the sounds of the nightlife. Although I'm live in a city neighborhood, I'm smack in the middle of the Ozark Mountains. At night I open my windows in my sunroom and can hear tree frogs, crickets, coyotes, owls. I can feel the wind, smell the earth or rain on the horizon. It's truly magical.

Mama, The only way that I can get back in touch with nature is to move to my own place.. Where I'm living right now, I have a very nosy neighbor who mocks my path & interferes with my life in general... Plus it ( the suburb) isn't that great for my health at all...( It's too congested)

One of the scrying techniques I was taught years ago, was a very basic beginning of your day kind of technique. The adding of milk/cream to your morning coffee/tea and watching what the billows of the milk/cream create in terms of shapes. I've had times where it was the only warning of a something not great was gonna happen on that day.

I am German and in East Frisia, people read the "Wolke", or in the regional dialect "Wulkje", the cloud that the cream makes on top of the tea, that is never stirred. I personally prefer coffee, so I do the same with that. I personally find that thicker cream works the best for either coffee or tea. Blessings

Love your videos, Hearth. I'm from the US and when I searched MBS(?) shows/events + UK I got Masters in Business Science and Mercedes Benz Stadium among others. What does MBS stand for? This year is the first year I really made an effort to work with air. We've had a lot of wind from multiple directions where I live in the desert. I open both doors, great for house cleansing. And standing in a breeze or wind with intention is a quick way to clear my own energy. One of my (former) teachers taught us something akin to body divination. You say a statement that is true and see how your body feels and where you feel it, and then you make a statement that is not true and see where you feel it. It took some time to be reliable. She also set us a challenge to watch the sunrise for 30 days. I almost made it. Another teacher taught me a yes and no divination using your finger tips. Ask a question, rub your fingertips in circles. If they move smoothly the answer is yes, if they stick or don't move smoothly then the answer is no. Look forward to trying these again (except watching the sunrise). Take care all!

You mentioned doing a video on scrying, and there is a question I've been wondering for quite a while: can screens be used for black mirror scrying? Just like, your normal phone or laptop screen? They are dark and reflective, and also they are always close and available. I know that they may gather huge amounts of random energies from being used all the time and probably from internet access, but if you do a super thorough cleanse on them, can they be used for this type of scrying? I can't seem to find any information on this, and I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

I would love to go to a witchy type event but they are very very hard to find in my part of the USA because of the conservative heavily Christian atmosphere. I literally live in a section called The Bible Belt. I did for a while attend pagan festivals but those to are harder and harder to find. I also went to one burn or as I called it “A Baby Burn” which was a very small scale southern version of Burning Man which was wonderful. Unfortunately inner politics has closed that off to anyone who is not already known and accepted in that community. I will continue to practice solo and in the witch closet and keep my eyes open for a shift in things and opportunities. Until then I will continue to enjoy your videos.

Have you heard about bibliomancy? It's a method if divination you can do with any book, even the Bible. Just think of your question and then open up the book to 3 random pages. Point at a paragraph and that is your answer. Nobody will have a clue tour doing a reading. It worked when I grew up in a strict Mormon home many decades ago. In the long run, try to make it north of the belt buckle.

I love water of all kind, except when covered in lily pads and that is because in my area it can and often does hide great danger in the form of alligators and poisonous snakes. Anyway, I often go with my husband to a state forest with a huge lake about a 45 minute drive from outer home. He is a KZreadr and makes camping videos while I just sit by the lake, listen as it laps against the shore, watch the fish and hear the distant calls of a pair of bald eagles across from my favorite spot to sit. My chosen element to work with is water.
