RK3 Designs is a learning studio focused on teaching how to create beautiful epoxy finishes using Stone Coat Countertop Epoxy. These tutorials include epoxy countertops for kitchens, bathrooms, and much more. This channel provides tutorials for DIYers, contractors, designers, or artists.
Rhonda Dracoulis Founder and Primary Instructor
RK3 Designs started as a way for Rhonda to showcase her creativity but has blossomed into a way to help others find theirs. Her obsession with painting led her to start refinishing furniture and kitchen cabinets. She found customers wanted a nicer option than laminate but more affordable and customizable than natural stone, which lead her to countertop epoxy! Since then, she’s helped thousands of students, from across the country (and even Canada eh?).
If you prefer a more hands-on learning experience, book a class with Rhonda today: www.RK3designs.com/book-online RK3 offers numerous classes that cater to different levels of experience.

    Yes… back when I saw this introduced on another channel, and no tape was used, I screeched because I just knew it would leave a sticky residue behind and epoxy hates that. 😝 I’m so glad the PROS, Rhonda, Kenny & Keith, showed us how to do this the right way! I trust no other in this business, (along with #SCC of course) and saving us all in the process. Sorry the info got to you late!

    HI Ronda! Beautiful work as always! I have a question: Did you use the matt UTC?! Until now the matt gave me a plastic feel but this one turned out really nice at the end! Probably the flood coat made the difference!

  • @RK3Designs

    @RK3Designs

    2 жыл бұрын

    We did use the matte UTC. With the mixing ratio we use I’ve never really thought it was plastic like. To me it takes away that high gloss “fake” look. I really think it makes the finish look more authentic 😊😊

    I’ve been trying ti figure out how long or to what consistency you should wait before pouring the different colors into the same container to prevent mixing of the colors and keep them separated.

  • @RK3Designs

    @RK3Designs

    6 ай бұрын

    You don’t want to wait too long or the products will get too thick in the bucket. Your colors are going to mix some, no matter what once you put them all in the bucket. The key is to pour very very slowly.

    I have a 14' x 12' fire place to do soon and my only concern is standing it up because epoxy only has a 2% flex. I'm thinking about screwing in the back 3 2x4s until it's stood up next to fireplace. I'm asking here because they attached a sheet of plywood. What's your thoughts?

    It’s when the mica powders aren’t completely dissolved. The chunk of mica will sink and as the epoxy moves it leaves little streaks around it.
