I use the Ready Rig GS setup with my Ronin Setup however I was very close to purchasing this setup to... I think I preffered the low profile of the Ready rig as its only as wide as your shoulder width it packed up where more compact than tilta.. but each to their own I guess..

Great video! I'm curious to know if the Armorman 2 will work with the MoVI Pro, mainly because that uses the carbon fiber ring instead of the handlebar setup. Any advice?

I think the system is worth it, especially if you are in the circle of renting out your gear. It's a nice package that requires no tools to assemble / disassemble or to adjust. I have a bad back, and this type of setup (similar to my steadicam vests) allow the weight to be transferred better and allows me better posture.

Does the iso arms provide good vertical stabilization? I was one of the unfortunate people people bought a 4th axis jockey (but I worked for me) but I really like the support and ease over what I have

Yes the ISO arms are similar to steadicam iso arms. They assist in some of that vertical movement.

True, not ideal for weddings. But there are other applications such as commercial use in more controlled environments. The URSA Mini is not a popular camera for weddings anyhow.

Hi Emm, thanks for the great video as always. I have a few questions about this product: 1. Could you use it without a gimbal, and some handheld rig/handles or figrig type of rig instead? I often have to pull focus myself, and a wireless FF would add a lot to the cost. 2. Also, in a non-gimbal scenario, would it help stabilise a bit more as compared to a shoulder mount? Thank you

This probably would not be the best setup for a fig rig or shoulder rig. You might want to look into an EasyRig type setup for seomthing like that.

Shouldn't those arms be on the inside? How ar you going to get through narrow spaces like doors for instance?

I have a bad lower back, and this type of setup (similar to my steadicam vests) allow the weight to be transferred better and allows me better posture. Many systems will take the weight off your arms, but where that weight is transferred is most important to me. This one does have some limitations, but don't think it will be a problem for me. For instance you can't easily use a gimbal in inverted mode as the handles have to be cupped into the ISO Arms. But because i'm only using it on a gimbal this big, i'll have a monitor mounted along with other accessories that don't need to invert the gimbal.

Let me clarify. I'm not sayng it's the best vest, but Im not saying there are better systems either. It's really personal preference on what works. They all are able to take weight away from your arms. Other vests are like steadicam, easy rig, ready rig, etc. But for me, this is the one I chose for my specific reasons and it's pretty awesome.

Thanks for clearing that up. I have shoulder/back issues at times so this would be ideal! One final question - it appears a bit wide, does it fit through a regular sized door?

The vest is not wide. It can be as wide as your shoulders if you don't have your arms held out. The Prodigy gimbal handles are wide so my arms are held wide, and it will get through a standard doorway very carefully. Since this gimbal can be used off the handles, i'll probably use a narrow set of handles if I need to work in tight spaces.

How would you compare this with a Steadimate?

Wow canoe and ocean. First the size of your camera means you'll need a pretty large gimbal if you wanted one of these self balancing setups. But it could be cumbersome if you don't have a good crew. Personally if I had to shoot with your camera, I think I would settle with something like a Glidecam HD4000. No batteries, no tuning, no electronics. Just a pure mechanical stabilizer. They are still very effective tools, but you need to make sure to practice using one.

But how GOOD Does it work - I brought things like this & I hate to say it - It doesnt purely solve the problem & it expensive, Do you have any footage without stabilization in post. We believe in you Emm.

I think you're confused about equipment. You say this thing doesn't solve a problem, but you don't state what the problem is. A vest like this is designed to take the weight off your arms, that's it. It doesn't solve problems.

Im not confused, the Armorman serves 2 functions, 1. the weight issue, 2. the swaying of the gimbal. Is it not fair to ask, would like to see the footage before I spend money on it since this is a review, Iam not having a go, been following you for 7 years & take your opinion seriously. If it was just a weight issue, you'd have a belt & a pole attached to it & the gimbal to take the weight off, but the Armorman is there also to stabilise the movement of the gimbal, & if you have some footage using the armorman would love to see it, Keep up the good work Emm

It does not fix swaying of the gimbal. It will reduce up and down movement only, but you still need to have steady hands. The vest will not make a bad operator better.

Yes it will be hard to turn knobs. Try pushing down on arms during the adjustment

Yes. You should have your whole gimbal on too.

Ok, good but you never post actual footage of the rigs. A review without results is not a review. I have been watching your videos but because of no sample footage, it did not help at all.
