All the glory is given to God in it. May discernment be used in the receiver and not let deception in small details distract from the content purpose. Glory to God in the highest. Respect and repent. Worship and praise. Anger is a sin and brings on discontent and disease, hot coals on the head. Fighting and war are at hand in it. Peace and forgiveness are the way now, Jesus said. God has spoken. We've all heard what He said many years after this writer wrote this. Discernment, brothers and sisters. Please, no fighting anymore over this. It is in the past. Don't let it be the thief on the cross in your future like a stone in your heart. It will dry the bones and spread like a disease. It will return reaping accuracy for being sown. If it causes you to sin, cutting it out or off is much better than standing in front of God with it angering your heart. God's word says be still and fast from it instead. Jesus taught His disciples this. Is that not what we are to become following the Lord I will ask? If anyone can find anything ungodly in my words let them come forward and reproof me, please. Josephus is mistaken. Gal. 3:16-17 says 400yrs counts from Abraham in Canaan to Moses Exodus. Not 400 years in Egypt, but about 200 yrs each in Canaan and Egypt. U'll thank me later.

thank you for your mature approach to this detail in the writing. Some of the comments here are not as helpful and seem more like personal hang-ups to previous offenses. Too late now for Josephus to change it right? Let's move on, huh? I'm not so sure God is hung up on the timetables since time is not a real thought to Him but more of an evolving continuum towards His major purpose. What is 10,000 years to God? The minor details are left to our own discernment during our mere possibly 100 here. These writings are ancient and still circulating, preserved. They still have a teaching purpose or God would have buried them and turned them to dust by now, I believe. He only reveals what He wants us to see and the rest is seen through the eye of faith. Thank you for clarifying that people, as God-fearing as they may be in intention, still make mistakes.

Right, they were in Egypt and honored due to Joseph,, but "then a new king, who did not know Joseph, came to power in Egypt." Exodus 1:8. So, they had been in Egypt for generations before being made slaves. How many years, we do not know exactly.

The "400" years in Egypt should say "Egypt AND Canaan". Remember, Egypt had conquered Canaan and at the northern border was the extent of the Hittite Empire. Egypt was at war with the Hittites. Canaan was part of Egypt for over 300 years. So Josephus saying "400" years in Egypt, is technically not incorrect.

Flavias is also piso who wrote the new testament which is complete fiction and is not any accurate account.

I really don’t care when it differs from the Bible using the name of the book in the Bible and it doesn’t match history as well as the Bible it is lying and is misleading so it really shouldn’t be read to people without it showing that it is really not the Book of Exodus in the Bible. Sort of like some of truth just not all that accurate. Makes me think of how the serpent was misleading as well but anyway thanks for letting me know what it really is.
