Great video. I own an Asian forest Scorpion and am looking at rehousing it in one of the 30x30x30cms exo terra tanks. Do you recommend it and if so shall I cover up the front air vents to stop so much air circulation being let in as they like a humid environment? If not are there any other terrariums you can recommend that are about the same size that holds better humidity please? Thanks again mate. Loved the video

Great job, killer analysis. I wonder if they have made any updates, fixed any of the little flaws. I'm in between one of these or a zilla, the 18x18x24. I know zilla probably has better tops. They use rust proof, or resistant at least, powder coated mesh

Hi amazingly factual video which exo terra terrarium would be best suited for one leopard gecko?

I do love exo terra tanks although may I recommend the swell reptiles own brand as it’s just as good quality, way cheaper and their “new” range blackens the side walls so the reptile feels more secure. I just think you would like to know as I know you love a bargain!! P.S hope you’re still staying strong through lockdown mate!!!

Are these enclosers especialy the smaller encloser ? good for spiders like the brachypelma hamorii

I have my baby leopard gecko in a 36/18/18 inch ExoTerra and he uses every bit of that length, width AND height. Super super glad I didn’t go with the shorter 12” tall version. I think I’m going to coat the styrofoam background in several layers of sanded grout and then seal it to prevent crickets and mealworms from burrowing into it.

great video! all my reptiles except my tortoise are in exoterras! this would’ve been super helpful for me before getting my tanks!

NORTHERN EXOTICS i love them! my only issue is the background! my hognose gets behind it a lot, same with my anoles. i filled it up with sphagnum moss though.

Hi. Can you use them for scorpions, e.g. Asian Forest ones? Also, what if I'd like to have a bioactive terrarium, wouldn't springtails crawl out of the ventilation holes? Thank you.

Great review, always umming and ahhing on if I should get one, ever since my friend asked why I was keeping my snails in a 'slimey toy box' lol. They had not heard of the concept of tub cages for humid animals :) Might need some of the mesh lid adapting for a snail but be nice to have front opening and see in better. But then they drag all their dirt and grossness up the sides which smudges it and is super hard to clean. Maybe they're just doomed to stay their slimey toy box house :')

So I've been really wanting to get a centipede, but I've been worried about the doors. Are there gaps in the doors or will they keep a smaller pede in?

where the hell do you get replacement doors i cannot find doors to replace my XMedium tall

My ball python keeps getting his open and I have no idea how 😕. The lock seems to work fine but somehow he keeps escaping. I've had to start taping over the two doors to keep them shut

I totally agree with having bigger enclosures as I want to have all my reptiles to have Bio active set ups with some of their native no toxic plants, however two of my guys need slightly larger enclosures one being a beardie and the other is a ball python. Now I find that the wooden ones my hold the heat in a lot more sufficiently but if I would want to use water I have the issue that the wood might start to rot and I'd have to seal it in some way, with glass I wouldn't have this issue.

I decided to buy a 90x45x45CM Exo Terra for my Leopard Gecko Raptron when he had already been living in a 86x37.5x42CM Wooden Vivarium for about 6 Years. I’ve had him 7 Years now. I wanted to get him as Big and as Nice a home as possible and he seems to be loving the Exo Terra having been living in it since October last year. I uploaded a video on my channel in October last year of Raptron’s new home which you can have a look at if you like. I like your video mate. Your channel is Awesome! I’ve been subscribed to your channel for a while now since I’m sure you commented on one of my Reptile videos asking me to subscribe.

Wow I did not thought there are some cons.

I hear people say they are stackable because of the little feet style and space left. I have two the same size and might try to see

I've got a 3ft Exo Terra and I think another thing to keep in mind is that if you've got any lights or heating that need to sit flat on the screen top the plastic ridges that go across it may get in the way. Something to keep in mind if you're getting any chunkier fixtures that weren't made specifically for these vivs!

Great video! I just wish these enclosures were easier to keep higher levels of humidity in them. If Exo-Terra made a solid lid modification you could get with a factory fit, that would be awesome. Along with the adjustable bottom vents you were talking about.

Zilla front opening Teraiums have a Plastic cover that you can put on the enclosures screen for humidity loving species I think is cool Exo Terra should do something similar for Higher humidity requiring species

@@Jesus_Iced my use case was for hatchling ackie monitors that require high heat and UVB. I've since adopted almost exclusively PVC cages. While pricey, they work wonderfully.

With you on this! Def need a 4ft x 2ft x 4ft for chameleons

I’ve just purchased the Exo terra 60x45x30 Medium Low with new stainless steel mesh top, I’m setting it up for a terrestrial tarantula probably a curly hair as I’m a beginner, I purchased the Exo after watching your video so thanks for sharing 👍

@@leolv520 lol yeh I can see your point, Na there was a 90cm length but to big so I went for the 60cm and I’m just starting on how I want it to look as way of habitat then I’ll source my first ever T it’ll be adult and female so the enclosure will be just right 👍🕷

I stuffed that gap with some dry terrarium moss or spaghnum, and I just don't take the top off.

I have a 36x18x12 inch exo terra it's not a bio active setup but I love the enclosure I keep a male bumblebee orange dream ball python in it

I have a paludarium from Exo terra from 90 cm×60×45. It started leaking after a short while. And the so called 2 year warranty was not given. After 9 months it was in use to long the shop said.

What size IS for ball Pythons ?

On the 12x12x12 what is the height of the doors? Also, is the 12x12x12 including the black frame?

Does the glass bottom really hold the weight when you fill water in? In my 80x45x60 exo terra I dont dare to fill the bottom with water. I fear that the glass bottom will just break because it doesnt lie on the ground but stands on the four edges

Very informative! I would love to get myself a nano and/or nano tall to start keeping a praying mantis or two, but I want a nice terrarium to look at aswell with live plants and a nice background. I'm curious; do you think the mesh in the top is dense enough to keep smaller prey in such as fruit flies?

I’m about to get a mating pair of Pseudocreobotra Walberghii and Hierodula Patellifera, I’m using 2 of the 12x12x18 exo terra enclosure to house the giant Asians, and 2 8x8x8 to house the spiny flower. I’m really excited to get the 8x8s and get them decorated, cause once that’s done it’s time to buy the mantids.

I plan to use another Exo Terra 18x18x12 to house 2-4 ghost mantis. Maybe more depending on how they play together in the enclosure.

Personally I found the main draw back with exo terras is the full mesh top. I have a rain forest set up, with a misting system, and water used to piss through the mesh, and it also reduced the humidity. So in the end I had to remove the back half of mesh and replace it with two glass panels.

Just cover it with an acrylic sheet. If you are just showing plants it’s fine but any live stock needs that air flow and these things are meant for keeping animals.

I once lost my hognose down the background so wedged a strip of cork bark at the bottom to lift the background up so it reaches the top, the substrate hides the cork bark, makes it a less permanent fix because the terra back grounds get damaged quick where they are only foam and means can take it out to deep clean, another thing the doors do lift out ive had to replace one of the doors as it was cracked in transit and was very easy there is videos on how to do on KZread 👍🏻

I've got a pacman frog in a 45×45×30, a crested gecko in a 45×45×60 and a young Chinese water dragon in the largest exo terra. They are great enclosure for the high humidity animals and have so many possibilities, but I agree they need bigger sizes and I think they should tint the glass on the sides so animals cannot see out

Yes, it would be good for a leopard gecko. And that would be a good size. Just put the light and heat on top and you're ready to go.

My 60x45x45 exo terra has my Theloderma stellatum mossy frog in it, bioactive set up, I originally built it with a waterfall and pond, need to re do it tho

I have 3 45 x 45 x 60 exo terra’s. Also have a 30 x 30 x 30 for my fire bellied toads. All bioactive setups. Got a Crestie in one & Gargoyles I the others. I love exo terra enclosures, like you say the uses are endless, but they are so expensive if you buy them brand new.

Nice collection

I wish they made a version with sliding doors. I would much rather be able to put a keyed barrel lock on the doors. With their style of lock you can still open the door enough for something to escape if a kid or something messes with the latch.

i use my exo-terra 45x45x45 as a quarantine cage however i used it as my leopard geckos cage when he was a baby but now he is is a medium vivexotic now the terrarium is a temporary cage for my veiled cham.

Oh sound, I’m in Windle, I can see a lot of questions coming your way hahaha, love your channel you’ve helped me out on quite a few things, I had my leopard gecko in a terrarium but I was struggling to keep the temps up, I’ve moved her to a vivarium now with a deep heat projector, it’s 3ft, that’s why I asked you about keeping 2 together last week because I have all this room and would love another, if only I knew they would be ok, but I don’t 😔

I've seen people online put there exo terras backwards idk why maybe they don't like the look of the door

@@NORTHERNEXOTICS He is a rescue and very small at 3 years old, he is about 11 inches head to tail. I've had him or about 9 months now and I don't think he is going to grow any bigger. He is currently in a reptizoo enclosure that is 64 gall 48 x 18 x18 and I'd like to give him some more room length wise. I have two exo terra tanks all ready so it shouldn't cost much to try and connect them. My biggest problem with the bigger exo terra tanks is that they are so heavy. I have the larger 36 x 18 x 36 for my 3 crested geckos and the tank is a monster to move. I was hoping that if I make a tunnel with connections that I can connect and unconnect the two tanks to clean them or move them if I have too. I'm in my late 60s with arthritis so flexibility for me is an important issue. I just can't find any information on the best way to try this.

They have an 8x8x8 nano exo terra as well

I’ve been thinking about getting the 12x12x12 and getting a tarantula, nothing fancy, just a rose hair or Arizona blonde, because I really don’t want something that’ll threaten to bolt or want me dead every time I made any movement towards it. Lmao

I have the 45x45x45, bought it 2nd hand (but like new) for my baby corn snake who's now grown to where he's nearly big enough to move up a size now. It's in a corner of the room so 2 sides are private with plenty of hiding spots, he loves it and I much prefer the doors on the exo terras to the doors on classic wooden vivs. I'm thinking of getting a 90x45x60 for his next viv, but I'll wait until I find a 2nd hand or sale one because the biggest con of these is they're just too expensive to buy new lol

Better still is the Habistat glass aquarium of the same size from Internet reptile, which is only £206.99 and has blacked out sides. New prices can never beat used though, I've seen 2nd hand exo terras for far less than £200, though admittedly most of these need a new mesh top.

3 crested geckos (18×18×24 each), 2 leachianus geckos (24×18×36 each), gargoyle gecko (18×18×24), 5 Cuban false chameleons (36×18×36, 18x18x36, 18x18x24), 2 Abronia graminea (18x18x36), trans pecos ratsnake (36×18×24), pink tongue skink (36x18x24), western hognose (36×18×24), 3 baby gidgee skinks (36×18×24). We also have a 24x18x36, a 24x18x18, and a 12x12x12 for miscellaneous usage. Non removable doors kind of stinks, especially trying to clean off gecko waste. Otherwise, we love them.

Is an 18x18x24 good for a tokay gecko

I have several that I keep tarantulas in. I do remove the top screen and replace it with a piece of polycarbonate with holes drilled in. The foam background is nothing but a chew toy for everything I've put in the terrarium. I throw them away now before using the terrarium.

I have an a semarnii in one

My yellow bellied skinks hang up the top of the background wall even after I made the whole inclosure for them

The smallest is a 8x8x8 I use it for my tomatoe frogs

Yes. An adult corn needs an enclosure minimum of 3ft long. Ideally 4ft long

i have 2 terras . i use the reptile carpets i cohab my female leopard geckos 4 per houseing each has plenty hiding spots for each girl but they tend to cuddle everywhere i love i can stack them and turn them into. a cabinet as i live in a travel trailer there the 60x45x30 cm wish i could post pictures here cause i am very proud of my setups

Tell me about it . but ya know what im being successful . i tell everyone in the group cohabings bad but when your a breeder and have limited space like me IF "IF" the females get along for A "BREEDER" thats ok not for pet geckos tho i have 5 ten gallon tanks on standby if someone needs to be separated but its almost been a year and no issues so far
