because chen is the only stable vocalist for these songs. this song is pretty hard to sing with many high notes and chen is the only one who can sing it without hurting his voice and plus chen got all the hard parts. the only stable vocalists exo has are chen, D.O and Baekhyun. everyone must be at the same level to have an even distributed lines but that is not reality. sm gave them a hard song to sing with many hard parts and only chen, D.O and Baekhyun are stable enough for those songs.

+Kaitlyn Danielle nope. to sing these types of song without straining the shit out of your voice needs very hard and long training. Chen sounds like someone who has trained his whole life and D.O even trained his vocal techniques before he became a trainee. there are some high notes that luhan hit but he is not able to do it without straining. exo had improved but they can't be at chen or D.O or Baekhyuns level only through a little bit of training. even D.O and Baekhyun said that chen is a whole new level compared to them and that is true. Chen has worked hard on his vocal techniques and his hard work has payed off. the only stable vocalist exo has that are stable enough for these these types of songs are D.O, Chen and Baekhyun. this song has many belted notes and that is kind of what chen is known for. Chen is a competent to good vocalist. D.O and baek are above average to competent vocalists. the others are weak vocalist that have underdeveloped vocal registers so there for they are not stable enough for these types of songs.

That's not the point. Chen is the only stronger member in Exo-M unlike EXO-K who has BaekSoo who can share the hard parts. The only thing they can do in EXO-M is to make some parts as together.

well 2 korean member here are vocal line, like Chen is main, Xiumin is lead. if Xiu didn't got that screaming part he's line will be less than Lay. If Chen has to share his part to chi member it'll still goes to Luhan. But yeah poor Tao...since this song barely has rap part.

And i just explain to OP it's kinda obvious why the korean member here got more line since they are indeed main and lead vocal. Yes Kris can sing, Tao can sing, they're chinese who's capable to sing a chi song ofc, but they're rapper. Just like Chanyeol and Sehun in exo k. Since we talk about Xiumin here, in their official homepage, since debut its mention Xiumin is "Lead vocal and Lead dancer". He got a little line in exo m but he's still a lead vocal just like Luhan.

I think after Xiumin shoting is Kris and Tao singing and after Kris shouting is Tao and Xiumin singing. You can see that in live performance

Dont forget even though Chen sings a lot in this song, hes usually in the back and all the other members have a big part by being the main and lead dancers.

reading the comments and just imagine how it would've been if Chen was placed in exo-k instead.. tbh i can't. SM's strategy was to put the strongest on exo-m and have 2 other mains on exo-k, but regardless I've always liked exo-m more. i like the group dynamics. i love the vocals, rapper and dance line. i especially loved Tao then (before Xiumin) coz he has a good singing voice, can rap, can dance, and full of swag. i guess it was ambitious of SM to use this as debut song knowing the vocal capabilities of the exom members. and i could just imagine how nervous Chen might've been. singing Mandarin songs in a foreign land with his co members being Chinese (except Xiumin ofc) and the possibility of having ppl judge him because he had most lines. i almost feel bad for him.

sm gave them a pretty hard song to sing and the only stable vocalist exo has are chen, D.O and Baekhyun. sure the others can sing too but only simple songs that doesnt require has many high notes or low notes. if sm gave too many hard lines to the others they might hurt their voices and might have to undergo surgery to heal their voices and it takes a long time to recover. we don't want that right?

Don't be mad at Chen guys. This song isn't easy to sing, it has a lot of high notes. Yes, Xiumin has the highest voice but he doesn't have good control, therefore he couldn't do the parts. In 2013, Luhan did prove that he can hit high notes but maybe his voice just hadn't developed enough in 2012?? I don't know, that's what I think. My point is, it's not Chen 's fault.

the thing people don't understand is that chen is the only stable vocalist in exo m. to be fair this song is way out of their abilities so it's very hard for the other members to sing this. I get that people think that they all are stable and don't really know what vocal techniques are but chen worked hard to become more stable than the rest and there for he got more lines when it comes to hard songs like this because he is the only who can sing it without hurting his voice. if the others sang his lines they can hurt their voices and might have to do surgery and it takes a long time to recover and we don't want that right? the only stable vocalist in exo are chen, D.O and Baekhyun. the others don't get as much lines as them because they haven't worked as hard as them in terms of techniques and there for they can't sing those high notes without straining the shit out of their voice. Chen is even better than Baek and D.O in terms of techniques.

I love CHEN he is my bias and I feel like he is so unappreciated by the fans (by that I mean he is the least biased) so I get proud to see him out there doing his thing. But I understand how frustrating it is for other people to see their bias not get much lines.y ULTIMATE is BAMBAM Got7 and I also BIAS Jin from bts and they always get the least lines so I get it :(

The sad thing about this is, Chen's Mandarin was kinda poor when they debuted, and he still got the most lines.

Maggie Grant That's not the point. 1.) Luhan has a beautiful voice and is Chinese 2.) Yixing has a beautiful voice and is Chinese. The fact that they gave upwards to a minute of lines to a Korean member who's Mandarin was very poor at the time, is not fair. Exo-M was a Chinese subunit, so why did the Chinese members get little lines?

This is why I don't understand anyone who acts like the 3 members who left did something so terrible or that they were greedy. They were getting scraps compared to the Korean members regardless of language or sub-unit, and I highly doubt it was going to get any better tbh. Look how Yixing is only being offered a ton of opportunities now, when he's the last remaining Chinese member, and even then it's at the expense of SM playing games with his Korean schedule instead. Ridiculous.

Please Support NU'EST in Produce101 When Tao left, he basically proved that he has incredible musical talent. He can compose and write lyrics at the same time. His singing is alright, too.

If you guys watch the MR removed from their debut days, trust me. They HAD to make the strongest vocal get all the lines. This is coming from someone who's bias is Lay and he generally gets the least lines in most of EXO's title songs.

XsL Bccdks Luhan has always been a main vocal when he was in EXO. Even though he has already left the group, it’s still irritating to see people spreading lies about him. There’s absolutely no way EXO and EXO-M could’ve been popular in China if S.M. didn’t put at least one Chinese member as main vocal. If you have any doubts, please refresh your memory by listening to EXO songs like Miracle in December, What is Love, Moonlight, Open Arms, etc. where only the four main vocals (Baekhyun, D.O, Chen, Luhan) gets to sing.

It might seem unfair that Chen got most of the lines but you do realize that his high notes (which he had a lot) count to his line description, and you know that boy holds a note for a long time, I mean sure they could have given it to another member.

What's with all the hate towards Chen? I honestly don't see the problem with him having the most lines. Yeah, Luhan probably could've gotten more lines. Yes, Luhan & Lay are Chinese and have better Mandarin but please don't hate Chen! :( He's my bias and I just don't see what the problem people have with him. He has a good voice, he has the most beautiful in my opinion, so I don't see what's wrong.

i know it sad to see chi member barely sing, but 2 kor mmber here are vocal line, xiu is lead vocal, chen is main. if chen need to share his line, it'll still goes to luhan since he's in vocal line and the one that i think capable too sing Chen's part. Lay is vocal line too but i don't know if he can singing chen part well. If Xiumin didn't got that screaming part he's line will be less than Lay. Even if Chen is the best in the group, I think that they should still give some lines to the others. I believe than they can all sing Chen's part. Everyone has their own opinion, and this is mine. I uniterstand that Chen has a powerful voice, but I still wished that some of the lines would be given to the other members. I mean even with their latest songs, there wasn't really a good distribution. I just want more of the unnoticed members to stand out more. Of course this is my opinion so you have every right to disagree. I'm just stating what's on my mind.

He is underrated really, I remember the time when Exo m is in the airport and no one give gifts to him, when all the members has their own. Imagine that, I could say that Exo m suffered a lot not only the Chinese members, Xiumin is underrated too. Chen volunteered to be in Exo m and he would get all this hate, imagine how could you sing so much in a language you barely even know and in a Foreign land? He(and Baek) only train for about 6 months

Now I understand why in some chinese interviews some MC's were rude with Chen whenever they said he was the main vocalist, because he wasn't chinese and he sang the most u.u or ask if Luhan was the main vocalist

The fact how Tao during the Mama era and Wolf era was only cherished for his wushu skills is really sad. He is such a good rapper, he even tops Kris in my opinion plus he has quite decent vocals (just try to listen to some of his solo songs and live performances). Disrespect

Chen carried the group. Deserved the lines he got, he is the only one who was able to sing then perfectly without straining or struggling

I think the line distribution is fair. And I 'm not just talking about technique either. Chen gets the most lines and has to stay in the back of the choreography the entire time except for his solo parts. That may seem like a lot of time, but I guess people forget about that dance break and the chorus and the parts where the other members sing.

I should never read the comments... You guys blaming Chen like it's his fault he has the most line, dude sm was the one that gives the lines.

My bias are Lay and Chen in Exo-M and I'm ok that Chen had the most lines and that Lay is the main dancer but SM should've given Tao and Kris more lines. #OT12

Aside from his solos, Chen's voice is also the dominant vocals in the chorus. But Chen is such a good singer so I do understand. But still don't you think rapping for 2.72 seconds in more than 4mins song is kinda unfair. LOL

I looked at two different websites to see who does the mama rapping parts after Xiumin’s part it’s Kris then Kris does his part he does the mama rapping part twice. I checked the other website it says everyone is doing the mama rapping part I’m not sure which site is the most accurate one but I hope this helps. Also for the high note it’s only Chen doing it and the other website says it’s Chen & Kris.

As sucky as it is with as many members as there are in Kpop groups it's impossible for a fair distribution especially since everyone has different roles in the group. But all we can do is support and enjoy the time that we get to hear each member sing or rap and see them preform :)

I'm not surprised with Chen, bcs he's really the one who can sing so good in EXO-M, Luhan comes next because he's chinese, Lay is really focused on dancing, but tao just almost 3s? that's so... WOW!!
