Keep in mind, 'I need you girl' was supposed to be 'I need you friend'. But 'friend' didn't fit in well in both English and in Korean so they stuck with 'girl' for technical/musical reasons. So you can see it as a romantic song but more likely it's not romantic at all - it can be followed along with the events of the MV - friendship and the joy+tragedy that comes with life and growing up. Oh we should’ve warned you. The storyline is pretty dark and angsty, you need tissues with you. I already wrote a LENGTHY comment on your previous video i don’t even know if you remember so I won’t repeat it but watching the storyline and the theories and the explaining “the notes” and webtoon will make your brain melt. Just saying. Also as i said before, watching some videos with explanations is better like: blood sweat and tears(demian explanation) , spring day( sewol ferry tragedy), ddaeng(explained by a korean by dkdktv , then xceleste’s theory videos etc. It shows you how in depth they think about their album and songs. And please don’t pay any attention to 10 year old bitter antis out there thinking they can decide what a person likes or not. I very much like many groups including exo. There is many suggestions to the storyline here and some give the wrong order. So here is the absolutely right order for these mvs. I need you, Prologue, Run and Epilogue: Young forever. After that it gets trickier, but crucial are Wings short films 1-7, Blood sweat tears, Love yourself highlight reels and Euphoria.

Hi Tina, you see, in my opinion Spring day is part of the story as well as Fake Love somehow... only from a different perspective or point of view, because in Spring day that's Kookie's P.V. how those years have been for him, traveling to Omelas and seeing the others and himself while his other self (his spirit if you want to call it that way) is traveling on the train is related to the story... and Fake Love revolves around the fight against their personal demons, their greatest fears that are also presented to us in this alternate universe, so I believe these vids should be included on the list too! Just my opinion! ;)

@@kcverastegui8237 actually me and others don't think that spring day is part of the story line, if you watch the BTS spring day mv explained video you'll see a theory that actually makes a lot of sense about it being about the sewol ferry tragedy and that the mv is a tribute to the ones that passed away.

I think you're one of the veeeery few non-BTS fan that I really love to watch. I can see how serious and considerate you are while reacting to them. This song is very special for BTS and ARMYs (especially if you have been stanning BTS since 2013-2015 like me) since with this song BTS won their first Korean music show in May 2015 and it was the first 1 million views streams project we did for them! I remember how I spent the first 24 hours rewatching the video over and over again 😭 I need You is that girl, our special girl 😔💜

Yeah this is the story line for BTS and I will tell you now, it’s really sad and angsty! The one you need to watch next is the Prologue and the Run MV, then there’s the solos, blood sweet and tears and many more. Also to explain it a bit more RM (the one that works at the gas station) at one point drops his lollipop and it turn into a cigarette(and this possibly causes the gas station to blow up, I’m not too sure), Jungkook gets beat up and hit by a car, Jhope took the pills and collapsed (whether it was because he overdosed or because his ‘character’ has narcolepsy in the story line I’m not sure), Suga trys to kill himself by setting his room on fire with him in it, Jimin trys to drown himself but fails and is seen later in the MV frustrated with hie failure, Tae ends up attacking and killing his storyline dad after he sees him abusing his sister (again) and Jin is trapped in the room where he lights 6 flower (I think it’s a lily) petals, representing the other six members, on fire (if you do this the petals give off a poisonous toxin) he then goes and opens the curtains only to find he can’t open the window and is trapped! Overall, don’t think too much about it and over analyse as up until heckin recently that ARMYs are finding out if our theories are true thanks to the WEBTOON release ( which updates every Thursday btw)!! Anyway thank you for such a great reaction and I’m sorry some ARMYs weren’t very nice, please just ignore them I honestly am really happy that you’re learning to like BTS and so please don’t let some salty ass BTS stans change your mind on wanting to react to them.

Tbh I reacted that way too, after reading the lyrics I thought it would be a break up story, I was so surprised when I learnt the deep meaning of the "needing part" as it was about suicide, pills, hospitals, poverty, murder, time loops... That's honestly one of the reasons why I Stan Bts.

I can't wait for the rest of the storyline, I love your reactions! The lyrics for the songs and the storyline for the videos aren't strictly connected, but I think watching the lyric videos as well is a great idea (especially for songs like Young Forever since the meaning and lyrics for that song are incredible and it makes me cry whenever I listen to that song thinking deeply about the lyrics and how the boys must feel).

There are many classic songs which make people want to play again and again in the early stage of BTS. These songs have more Korean and R&B features which characterize that period. I love them so much as you. Like I need U, I would like recommend Save Me and Run. For RM’s part in this mv, I think it is someone who got the service from RM in the gas station and just threw one piece of paper money without manners. Hope it can help lol. Finally, in my point of view, Exo fandom should be grateful that they have an Exo-L who is so open-minded, tries to create a healthier circumstance between fandoms, rather than excluding each other with blind denial. On behalf of Exo-L, I think you have left a good impression on and set a good example for people from other fandoms.

Needs Epiphany added for sure ... it shows that Jin wakes up to the fact that we must truly love ourself first before we can loves others and help them with finding their way in life. Otherwise our helping has selfish motive rather than what they need in a healthy way. Many people never realize this fact. The MVs of the storyline are a guide in life. They hold nothing back about how life in our world as a whole is messed up. Goal in end have everyone come together as family letting all ideas, hates, prejudices go ...breakdown society walls giving us hope for a better tomorrow. I hope you truly watch these MVs. I like that you are trying to breakdown the barriers that have been placed between BTS & EXO fandoms. As the fan wars aren't from the guys themselves as they have respect for each other & are friends. It's the fandoms. & it needs to end. Blessings to you.

Fun fact, I Need U was their first music show win. So it's really special. It was my first BTS song too!

I feel you about appreciating a song but not being sure you want to commit to it. I like a song here and there from other bands but you think about "Do they get data space?" The reason the beginning was different is because I Need U is the first MV in the story of the BU (BTS Universe). There is a whole storyline you don't know about lol. Yes this is attached to the Save Me webtoon. It's why the "girl" part of the song is so funny to me because this kinda isn't about a girl per se. It's about relationships in general. Most BTS songs are really never about specific relationships. RM once said he wanted the songs to be for all types of relationships.

A tip: You will know when the MV is related to their storyline if in the descrition of the video it says "BU content certified by Big Hit Entertainment", BU means BTS Universe.

The Chinese title in the beginning is the name of their album series Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa (HYYH), officially translated as The Most Beautiful Moment in Life. It's a Chinese expression that literally means "flowering years" and refers to the period around age 14-20 when young people bloom and discover themselves. This time is seen as beautiful yet fleeting, like a flower, and filled with conflicting experiences like young love, oppression from adults, recklessness, regret, fear of adulthood, etc., which is what this series conveys.

Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry that you just jumped into that without any warning!! Yes, this is pretty much the first music video in their storyline/fictional universe and it is definitely dramatic and an emotional punch to the gut. I'm so happy that you liked both the song and MV though! I also appreciate how you took the time to look at the lyrics first. I love BTS lyrics but I agree with you that listening to the song for the first time, watching the MV, and reading the lyrics all at the same time can be a bit much. Just a warning though, the lyrics won't always correlate with the music videos. A lot of times they do, but not always. Anyway I love your reactions and the interest and attention you put into them. You were quiet during the MV but it didn't bother me at all because I could see how absorbed you were in watching it. Thank you so much! As for what to watch next, my only suggestion would be to look up a list of what videos are part of the storyline and to make sure you watch those in the correct order. The story is complicated enough without watching them out of order haha. But if you want to watch any of their other MVs in between, then please do! I would be interested in your reaction to their debut song No More Dream though. It is fun seeing them with their "bad boy" concept, and they are all so young!

You should get a box of tissues when watching/listening to BTS. The further down this rabbit hole you go the more emotional you will get. Like with their song Magic Shop which BTS talk about ARMY helping BTS get out of dark places and BTS helping ARMY out of dark places. I cry everytime when listening to this song.

Ok, so you know D.O has my heart and soul, and Chanyeol and Baekhyun try to steal it away from him, *but* BTS has a special place in my life as well. They were the first Kpop group I ever heard, and I would never have discovered Exo, Girls' Generation, Monsta X, or any of the other groups and artists with songs I love. The ones who make mean comments and try to keep fan wars going are missing out on sooo much great music. We should be supporting all the artists who are trying to put out quality music. This song is connected with Run and Butterfly, actually Wings album is very complex, you can check the theory it's very cool and deep. I get emotional too while listening their songs like this because they can act very well and it's good music really. I recommend you The truth untold lyrics, it's very beautiful song and the lyrics wow. React to Spring day, Save me, Butterfly, Run, V - stigma, Jimin - Lie, Suga - first love(lyrics). I saw you were shoocked because in this MV V killed his father(because he abused his sister, this is the story about his solo part), each member has solo part and you need to check what means, they use a lot of symbolism. There are also for each member short film from Wings album, you have to watch each of them, it's amaizing and very dark, mysterious, they always do this kind of introduction which let you think more about the concept, also each MV from Wings album end with a question for me and I had to search a lot to find the answer.

I don't know if you noticed, but Jimin is the guy in the bath tub in I Need U and the person who, in Fake Love, has the gushing water scene. Suga is the guy in the burning hotel room in I Need U and the burning room in Fake Love. Jin is the one who had the flower petals in I Need U and started Fake Love in a room with a flower that is in a case. If you are interested in the story line, I suggest getting to recognize the members. It really helps with connecting everything together.

Yes the storyline

They're best friends in high school and once they graduate they move on with their own lives but like you said they seem happier with each other than being alone because of their individual lives. We finally have a webtoon from BigHit to explain the storyline! So wait to read it until after you watched their whole storyline to see if things you thought of match with their true storyline! I would suggest the prologue next!

For the next video of the story, On Stage: Prologue, I suggest watching the clip first, then the lyrics video of Butterfly. That's what I did. The chopped audio of Butterfly in On Stage: Prologue is a remix, so is slightly different. The 4 Chinese characters at the beginning of I Need You is a Chinese phrase 花樣年華, BTS translated that as The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, which is the album title.

Non-M/V videos that are a big part of the story line are the highlight reels. There are highlight reels for each "era" like Love Yourself and Wings. They're basically short films. If you want to get more into the storyline through the videos, I would suggest watching them, or you could read the Save Me webtoon as others have mentioned. Personally, while I read the webtoon, I like the cinematography of the highlight reels, they're pretty nifty.

Oh! It would be neat if you could react to them making the BT21 characters. There is a series of videos on KZread, and they have subtitles. You'd get to see a bit more of their personalities and interactions. It's really cute, plus the end result of the characters are beyond adorable.

I'm so happy you noticed that they're happy when they're together but not when they're alone. Keep in mind that the past and present interweave in the MVs so there will be a lot of back and forth. They want to draw attention to some of the issues plaguing modern society - so the storyline is not daisies and rainbows. Each one has issues: depression, pills, suicidal thoughts etc. Next in line would be the Prologue followed by RUN - i think you can watch them together but make sure you watch them to the end - scenes after credits. Newer storyline videos are marked with "BU Content" and are on the official channel. One you're done with the BU, other songs I'd like to request are: Spine Breaker (has an MV+Explained video by DKDKTV), Baepsae (no MV only an Explained video), The Truth Untold & Paradise (no MVs). INU gained them a lot of popularity and it's actually the song that got them their first win, so it's a special song in that way, too. Btw the characters at the beginning are the name of their album series and a Chinese metaphor for the fleeting time of youth, beauty and love and is pronounced "Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa" in Korean, which means "The most beautiful moment in life" or more literally translated "the blossoming period of a flower", which I think is a more nuanced translation, since as beautiful as a flower is, it is always temporary, just like the beautiful moments in our life and youth (which is an essential theme in BTS' music) are always temporary. For a lot of people there's a certain longing for things to stay as they are, but through the HYYH trilogy BTS acknowledges and accepts that things will change and that that's alright and you have to move on.

Yes definately read the lyrics first then the MV theres so much too pay attention to in the MVs. The next one you should react to is Run and i believe every MV is a part of their story line so be prepared girl because its an emotional ride!

Yes, this is part of the BU (Bangtan Universe) storyline. Actually this is the first MV for it. In the videos description it will be marked "BU".

I hope you saw the prologue and would see the others in order (Coz you will get confused if you were to watch it Not in order) anyway, I enjoy your reaction vids. and I really appreciate how you open yourself up for BTS despite being an EXO-L and getting few troll and not so nice comments by those that you said Armys. (Be careful, most of those people who does that are actually decoy accnts pretending to be ARMYS. and attacks other fandoms just to make the ARMY look bad. and Yes, we are aware of it) Anyway, getting back to BTS's MV's and story line, some of their songs doesn't necessarily connects to their MV, BTS sometimes uses word play on their lyrics. just like how they use "Girl" here in this song, when It actually isn't necessary meant for a girl. you can take it as how you want. but the story line. Ooooh~ Imma need you to stay strong girl as it goes deeper tbh, and up until now, there are still missing puzzles. the story Line isn't done yet tbh, which is why I suggest you enjoy the ride, it's about to be an emotional roller coaster. stories gets deeper and you might find the others confusing af and not connected coz of the concept change but... hehe it does connect actually, just in different time and space. but yeah, it gets interesting. oh, also each members characters plays a significant role. which kindah gets clearer once you see the members short videos on wings, going to Jhope's Boy meet evil, Jimin's Serendipity, V's STIGMA, Jungkook's Euphoria and Jin's Epiphany and it goes up to LOVE YOURSELF albums too. (Yes the solo songs of the members MV that I've mentioned plays part on the story line too) Oh, and one more important thing, Pay close attention to the small things and details on the MV's. they uses a lot of symbolisms there which could help you have a better grasp on what's really going on. :) have fun and goodluck. welcome to the ARMYS roller- coaster/theories world. Same as me I got emortion too. The first(three years ago) I found BTS just I thought looks good dancing good boy group but I watched I need u MV... OMG I never seen like that. i really appreciated your reaction as this mv was what most armies regards as when they became a bts fan especially girls but as a guy if you really want to appreciate bts for what bts truly is which is their message minus the story lines minus the huge budget mvs they have now you need to start reacting to bts from the first mv no more dream to their latest one.that was the time when they were so raw and their message was really raw and heartfelt.after 2015 they started to divert more towards mainstream kpop as that was the concept which clicked for them while still maintaining their message but a bit more indirect when it comes to the message they want to convey. you will see the difference if you do react to their older mvs specially lyrics wise.

Honestly, bts Universe is very complicated a bunch of music videos and short films relate to each other and they yes have the webtoon that adds up with the storyline so yeah, btw love your reactions like you paid so much attention it was great.

You've opened Pandora's Box (the BTS Universe) and what comes rushing out are theories galore and LOTS of confusion (until you read the webtoon at the end anyhow). Also I saw that someone else commented the next videos to watch for the storyline, so I won't repeat them, but you should also watch Spring Day. It doesn't seem to connect directly to the storyline, but it definitely shares a lot of thematic points. Plus it's just a really great song and MV!
