I think what sets Kai apart from other skilled dancers is his facial expressions. There are a lot of idols that can dance well out there, but Kai's expressions/emotions truly make his dancing shine even more. I have no shame in saying he's my ultimate bias 😍

With Kai you can literally *feel* the emotions he put into his dance. Whether it's craziness in overdose, lust/seductive (pardon) in exodus, or uplifting excitement in Power (these r just few examples to put my point) but you can feel what HE wanted YOU to feel in his dance. And it's truly rare bc it's not just talent but also A LIFE TIME of hard work. Jongin's parents are the prime example for parenting done right. Supportive and encouraging also ever loving ❤(edit) Rip Jongin's father..

This is exactly it. I personally dont know jack shit about dancing, but Kai always attracted me even back in the early days when I started liking EXO. He just had something different than the others. They're still good, and I love all the members of EXO, but Kai... You can see that he's on a totally different consciousness when he dances. His facial expressions and movements draw you in and engage you. That's what makes him stand out.

I'm not even an Exo stan but in my opinion, Kai is the best dancer in kpop of all time (an extremely heavy statement, I know). He's just beautiful and such a joy to watch when he's performing. He's the only idol I can think of that never seems to make a single flaw when he's dancing and he makes it look SO effortless. His body is so fluid that his limbs shift from one position to another seamlessly, yet he still retains force and rigidity. It seems like he has complete control over his movements to the point that he looks more like a perfect machine (in a good way) than a human. Other famed dancers in kpop are obviously great and famed for a reason, but I can still see where they might be too stiff or shaky for a second, or they could perform a certain move with more power. With Kai, he seems to completely understand when/where to go hard and when/where to loosen up, and apart from the body part he's moving, the rest of him is totally still, which makes his dance moves stand out as even more crisp and clean. I'm not a dancer but that's just what I sense from close observation. Maybe it's because he got the right balance of knowledge from a more graceful, technically demanding dancing style like ballet from his childhood but he also was still young enough to absorb the edge and agility of urban dance when he joined sm (at age 13) too.

Very well put! I love & respect people who find joy in dancing and bring joy to others through their dance. Kai is one such dancer. Some people are born to dance. They breathe & live through dance. I feel like he's one such person. Watching him dance LIVE is going in my bucketlist.

I like his character, dance with honor although most of time he is not the spotlight in the group, he didn't complaint, just do hard working focus on his duty, dancing King is silent but you win fans respect.

susan su um Kai is the face of the group. One of his position is being the center. So he is definitely in the spotlight more times than not. The magnificent thing about Kai is that he knows how to lead as well as follow. Kai dancing makes the other members dancing look cohesive even when he is leading from the back e.g. ( monster and electric kiss).

He is the only member who has solo stages tho and he is always the centre so I don't know where you get all this from.

What sets kai apart from other dancers is not his facial expressions. Remember Tempo with his face almost covered with the hat. That’s exactly what sets him apart his Energy, Aura and Being deep in the dance even when his in the back. Every fiber of his body believes his dancing that’s what sets you apart! Plus ofc his an incredible dancer with outstanding dance background

E Gd Mgb that's what ballet did for him... if you watch a ballet performance you will see where Kai gets all of his moves from. He is a beautiful and gifted dancer, hands down to that 🤗

Kai is best

People ask why the facial expression things is important. You see, dancing is like acting. You have these concept that wether can be dark, seductive or uplifting. So ofcourse facial expressions is a must. And Kai shows his confidence very well within that. Even tho I favour Lay. I really applaud for Kai, he truly is the Korean Michael Jackson. And ballet isn't just stupid. As you can see from Kai is because of ballet he is light in his feet and quick too, hence why he looks like he has controll over his skills due to him moving freely Kai is indeed one of the best dancers in the world. For as cute as he is, he's definitely a beast on stage.

This made me cry because I love him so much and after everything he'd been through and EXO people still have the audacity to bash them and say pathetic things to them. They still get the hate from everyone just because they came from the BIG FUCKING 3. People think that because they are from SM things were handed to them easily like they didn't broke their feet or hands practicing, like they didn't choose to sleep just to practice more or like they didn't eat one meal for all of them. Like they didn't worked hard to where they are now. Just because their quiet about their hardships it doesn't mean they didn't worked hard for it. You don't know how many tears they shed or how many sleepless nights they have thinking if they'll debut or not or if their best was good enough. So for the people who hate them, you can only say nasty things to them if you've been through everything they've been through.

Well if you see some bad comment about their work.... Just ask the person if he or she has ever fallen onto his or her knees 2 or 3 times in a row... If not, then tell him or her to try and then tell you about how much it hurts....i used to dance when i was younger, and i can assure that just basic dance from other k-pop group are exhausting... So for them, we can surely say that they are on an other level... And while he is doing his solos dances during concerts like it seems to be, well his teammates can catch their breath.... He is himself on an other level...

Kai's very good in contemporary dance moves, that sets him apart from other members. I followed EXO only because of Kai. Go Kai....go go go.

He really gives all of him to dance, to stage. You can feel the passion and devotion through his dance moves. He is such a piece of art. Talented and hard working.

You can definitely tell with how he moves that he had ballet/contemporary background. His movements are very smooth with tinges of sharpness. His movements flow gracefully. But the thing is that with how long his limbs are it definitely requires a helluva lot more effort to control them and he's probably not even aware that he has to do it in comparison to other contemporary dancers who are smaller than him.
