El Dorado is a mythical city made of gold. The Spanish conquers started the rumor of the city, after learning of the Indian king El Doraro who, according to the legend, was covered in gold (El Dorado in Spanish means the gold or the golden one.). So what you saw as part of the background in this performance was in the beginning the golden gates of the city were there and as the performance went on the gates opened to reveal the mountain and SM's depiction of what they think the city might look like. That is why EXO was all in gold outfits and I think the lights they danced around were to represent objects they had to navigate through in their search for the city. At the end when they make the X with the light sticks its to represent the X in EXO, but its also to represent the X you would find on a treasure map that marks where the treasure would be. In the end X marks the spot and EXO is the treasure. LOL Explorers and Indiana Jones-type treasure hunters are always searching for the lost city of El Dorodo thinking if they ever find it it will be the key to riches and gold. Legends have it that its a magical city that can only be found by those who it wants to find it and some stories say it could have something to do with aliens or otherworldly beings. That's why this song works so well for EXO because EXO's origin story is that they are aliens from Planet EXO who came to Earth with super powers in order to protect the mythical Tree of Life. That's why in this song some of the English lines are "got to go, go, go" ... "got to find, find, find ... El Dorado," etc. There have been several fictional movies made about the search for El Dorado and there even have been TV programs and documentaries, etc. about real life explorers who have searched for the city thinking they can prove it was a real place and, at least in part, the stories could be true.

You know.. I subscribed to you because of EXO.. But I understand you started with Bts and grateful to them for all their love and support so maybe you do more bts reactions.. And lately You've been busy with both bts and Bollywood reactions.. So.. We've been waiting long and some of us get disappointed at times..and comment that out... Don’t be sad for those comments. This song is rarely performed, their concert director said it's because they know how epic this song should be presented so they don't do it unless they can do it properly. I regret that I never went to THIS specific concert series in Seoul/Tokyo, so I've never seen this performed in person.

Also I laughed when you said exols jajaja and not because was wrong but we usually said it like EXO-Ls I mean it sounds like "EXO els" because the name of the Fandom is a reference of the time when EXO was divided into EXO K (korean) and EXO M (mandarin/chinese) so the leader of the group called the Fandom as EXO L because the L is between K and M in the alphabet( well, also they put the L for Love 🤣) EXO has very great songs for different kind of tastes in music. Its good for their carreer before military service, sometimes we need to understand agency's decision... Its good for the members too.

A small summary; exo is a south korean-chinese boy band debuted in 2012 as 12 members. 3 chinese members left in 2014, 2015. Now only one chinese member is left. They became incredibly popular in 2013 with growl. Their live performances especially concerts are always better but if you want to get to know exo better I recommend you to check growl mv also.
