What you saw in the "Obsession" MV was that EXO's doppelgangers were actually their alter ego clones and they were using their superpowers, such as Chanyeol with his fire power, Sehun uses his wind power to deflect the arrows and Suho controls water in the room with all the pictures of water, etc. to fight their other selves. You see the planet on fire in the end of the MV because it's supposed to show how the world is coming to an end as EXO (the good guys in all black) and X-EXO (the evil ones in the colorful outfits with crazy hair and makeup) battle for control, etc. X-EXO has been created by the evil Red Force and EXO and X-EXO are fighting each other. EXO are trying to prevent X-EXO from taking over and corrupting humanity and X-EXO are trying to stop EXO from finding the Tree of Life and putting the two halves back together and restoring peace, etc. Everything EXO is involved in, and I literally mean almost everything, is connected in some way to their concept and storyline. EXO's MVs are kind of like a movie -- it's a movie that has been going on for the past 8 years -- since predebut -- and it has no sign of coming to an end any time soon. The one thing you have to keep in mind with all of EXO's MVs, and I really mean all of them -- including their sub-sub-unit MVs and a majority of the member's solo MVs. And because Baekhyun and Kai are involved, even SuperM's storyline -- is that they are all connected and they all tell a little more of EXO's story and why they are on Earth, etc. To truly understand EXO you need to understand that EXO debuted in 2012. "Mama" is EXO's debut song and MV and It is how EXO was introduced to the world and it explains the group's concept. So to really understand EXO you need to start from the very beginning and watch BOTH of their "Mama" MVs. From day one, EXO's concept is that they are aliens from planet Exo and they came to Earth with superpowers to protect the Tree of Life from the Red Forces. Each of the members has a superpower that is unique to them and almost every MV will have at least one, if not all of them, using their powers. Exo, as in exoskeleton, means "outer," so as a member of EXO they are outside the ordinary.The group's concept comes from the real term exoplanet, which is a term that is used for a planet that is outside our solar system, so their name was chosen to represent the fact that they are stars that are "out of this world" when it comes to their talents. EXO's concept is also connected to real life planetary and solar events, so several of EXO's comebacks and new song releases for the main group of EXO are timed to when eclipses and other planetary phenomenons take place. For example, their comeback for their War album and Power repackaged album coincided with when we had a solar eclipse, etc. SM Entertainment, and its founder, Lee SooMan, has all of EXO's release dates and concepts planned out for years in advance, and it often has something to do with real celestial events that are predicted to take place. Now you also need to know that In the beginning there was 12 members and they were split up into 2 groups EXO-K and EXO-M. EXO-K sang and performed their songs in Korean and EXO-M sang and performed those same songs in Mandarin Chinese. EXO-K had 6 Korean members and EXO-M had 4 Chinese members and 2 Korean members. So to really understand their full origin story you have to watch both the K and the M version of "Mama", because the EXO-K version focuses on the K members and their powers and the EXO- M version focuses on the M members and their powers. However, since then, 3 of the 4 Chinese members have left the group (short answer to focus on their solo work back in China) but there is still one Chinese member left, Lay. (Any performances or MVs you watch that took place prior to May 2014 you will see all 12 of the members. Kris and Luhan left in 2014 and Tao left in 2015.) However, now, because they no longer have enough Chinese members they no longer do separate promotions, but they still produce almost all of their MVs and main songs in both Korean and Mandarin they just now promote all as one big group EXO with 9 members. However, in the "Obsession" MV there are only 6 members -- Suho, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, Kai and Sehun -- because 2 of the members -- D.O. and Xiumin -- are on hiatus during this comeback as they serve in the military; and due to the political issues between the Korean and Chinese government, Lay -- their Chinese member -- was unable to participate in activities with the group. So each new MV or project from EXO tells another part of the story, and over the years we fans have started to create a timeline and idea of what we think each part of the story is telling us. However, the introduction of "Obsession's" part of the story really threw all of our theories for a loop and it has made us question everything we have ever thought was happening in EXO's storyline. Since "Obsession" some think maybe EXO has been trapped somewhere from the very beginning and it has been X-EXO that we have been following all along. But I think it's still even more complex than that. I think at times we have been watching EXO and at times we have been watching X-EXO -- with the release of "Obsession" we have only just discovering that it hasn't necessarily been EXO the whole time. With the new information provided to us through "Obsession," it also makes me question how Lay fits within the X-EXO/EXO storyline. Maybe he is one of the members who has been able to break free or avoid the Red Forces' control. In Lay's solo MV for "Sheep," the Allen Walker relift version, we see everything burning outside as if an apocalypse is happening. Maybe "Sheep" is showing us the planet burning from Lay's viewpoint, like we see the world burning at the end of the "Obsession" MV. Also, I believe that the storyline in "Obsession" is connected to SuperM's "Jopping" storyline. If you remember what Baekhyun and Kai were wearing in that MV, those outfits are very similar to the black outfits that Baekhyun and Kai are wearing in "Obsession." Kai is even wearing the same backpack parachute in both MVs. Which seems to be SM Entertainment's way of making sure we see the connection between those MVs. So because the members in black are supposed to be the EXO members who are the good guys, it seems to also indicate that the members who are in SuperM are the EXO members and not their X-EXO clones. So it is thought that, as part of SuperM's storyline, EXO has gathered the best of the best of SM's groups to help them battle the Red Force and maybe eventually take down X-EXO. Just like how the Marvel Avengers come together as individual superheroes with their own storylines to create the Avengers and to fight evil, it is thought that SuperM is coming together to create the ultimate supergroup to help EXO fight the evil and corruption inflicted on humanity by the Red Force. Unfortunately,, to make it even more difficult to understand, each part of the story is not necessarily in chronological order, so we as EXO-L (EXO fans) have to become detectives and analyze every aspect of all of their teasers, MVs, song lyrics, albums, concert VCRs, choreography and even live performances and piece it all together to understand the story behind it all. To help you pinpoint the powers being used in their MVs and live performances here is a list of the members and what their special power is. EXO-K 💦 Suho (Kim JunMyeon) is the leader of the group and he is a lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control water (Fun fact: Suho in Korean means guardian, as in the guardian of EXO. That's why as the leader of EXO, his stage name is Suho) 💡Baekhyun is a main vocalist and his superpower is the ability to control light 🔥Chanyeol is the main rapper and lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control fire and his spirit animal is the phoenix. 🌏D.O. They formed in 2011 debuting on April 8, 2012 under SM Entertainment. *Their group concept is they’re aliens from EXOplanet [Alternate Universe] sent to protect the Tree of Life (Please react to their debut MV “MAMA” with the storyline opening intro). EXO's MVs are always on point with their unique theories. But even if we don't really understand the theory, we can still enjoy the videos and songs. However, understanding the theory in EXO are some cool extra points. To be honest, I have a lot of EXO songs that I would like to recommend to you. One of my fav albums is their winter album, Universe. I remember always listening to the songs on this album while drinking coffee and reading Sherlock Holmes novels, haha. There is absolutely no connection between this album and mystery novels, but I do really like listening to the songs.

Suho will be enlisting toward the end of the year. On other hand it’s reported that Chen, one of main vocalists is the first korean member of EXO to make a solo debut but he’s not the first EXO member overall to go solo. They are still a group; the members themselves are preparing for the next step in their career, so when the older members have to enlist for at least 1 1/2 to 2 whole years then return they have something to fall back on until the rest of the members return from military. On the other hand, Kris had played a role in the third XXX: Return of Xander Cage movie with Vin Diesel along with other roles before that and Luhan has also been in some chinese movies & dramas. Tao has a previous comeback called “AI”, the MV and song very interesting (I unfortunately haven’t heard much about Kris, Luhan, and Tao) besides their acting. Since there’s not much of EXO-M, Chen & Xiumin were added to EXO-K until LAY can someday return from his solo projects; he NEVER left the group nor has any plans to leave either. Lay has stated in many interviews that is he’s still part of EXO and doesn’t have plan on leaving the group, he’ll always be there for his brothers when he can be when they need him and also he’s said that “Namanana” (which is his first solo title album) he made the word up that was inspired by the lion king song “Hakuna Matata”, his role is a traveling postman. He filmed in Western Australia and that one scene is called Pink Lake (Lol yes it’s a real lake) and another scene I believe it shows that he gains his healing [unicorn] superpower back from his power orb after opening the package which indicts he’s still with EXO.
