I think the reason I love D.O.'s voice the most is because even when he sings high notes, it still calms me down. Some singers stress me out when they do high notes because they look like its painful for them.

R&B was invented for Kyungsoo and Kyungsoo ONLY

I read somewhere that if you compare baek’s , ksoo’s and jongdae’s vocals: Baekhyun is like an ice cold lemonade on a hot summer’s day, Kyungsoo is like a hot chocolate by the fireplace on a snowy winter’s evening and Jongdae is like that 11th shot of tequila, amazing at the moment but leaves you dead by the end of it.

I actually always thought chen's voice was like lemonade, sharp yet sweet. I think Baeky's voice is more like a rich barbeque sauce but that's just me tho🤷🏾‍♀️

Amongst the member and kpop industry in my opinion, Kyungsoo's vocal agility is the best! It's clear and clean. Sure other members can do runs and riffs but not as clear and clean as Kyungsoo's. Agility + soulful voice makes him, still the RnB Prince of Kpop.

I agree with you about how some vocalists overdo themselves while doing runs, it sounds out of place and forced, although I love a good vocal flex, sometimes too much just isn't good. Kyungsoo's runs are smooth and sound so natural and effortless, his voice puts the listener at ease and probably that's why I love his voice so much.

Kyungsoo's vocal agility is out of this world! His run towards the end of Black Pearl is one of my favorites. Melismatic voice of kpop! 💕

Kyungsoo is actually the reason why I started checking out EXO because of his amazing vocals. His runs and riffs are crazy.

I'm a little sad that they didn't include sweet lies🙈. Kyungsoo is my fav vocalist beside chanyeol in exo. When he growled in growl my fav part❤️. I agree with you, baekhyun's vocals hits you and kyungsoo has a more smooth tone. It's so great to see how baek, do, Chen have different kind of style but when they are paired together they all shine. For example miracles in December.

Kyungsoos voice makes my heart actually flutter. I wish this video had more clips from elyxion (4th concert series) because he does the ‘growl’ thing so beautifully in some of the songs. Loved the reaction!

Yes, he has a smooth velvety mellow voice. There is a VCR in the intro to the Japanese Elyxion concert and Kyungsoo is the narrator and I love listening to it because his voice is so deep ad soft that it is mesmerizing. To me it's Baek's voice = Netflix and chill, Chen's voice = weddings and lullabies, and Kyungsoo's voice = chocolate and self-care. I love his runs because when you know him and you know that he doesn't do anything he doesn't want/like, you get that he does his runs are because he feels like doing them.

if I were to describe their voices I would say, kyungsoo's voice is like waves crashing on a beach smooth and consistent with great impact, Chen's voice is like church bells resonates high with a beautiful echo while Baekhyun's voice is like wind/breeze, sometimes it's rough, strong, refreshing while other times it's vulnerable and soothing........I just love all of them because they're perfect individually and together. ❤️❤️

I love listening to a lot of vocal coaches and reading a lot of vocal analysis so here is what I got from them :) Regarding vocal color/tone: Kyungsoo and Baekhyun are both tenors, meaning that they can both sound the same when mixing registers and why BH covers a lot of KS parts while KS is in the military. Kyungsoo's singing voice is actually quite high compared to his natural speaking voice, but it sounds "full" or even "thick" compared to BH because he has a tendency to pull more from his chest, producing a tone that is rich, whole, and almost velvety/chocolatey in texture. I believe that his vocal tone has a lot to do with his musical preference in RnB. His natural timbre is already very mellow/smooth, and he focused/trained his voice to fit this genre even more so as a way to be distinguishable from other singers in his generation. Baekhyun's vocal tone can be described as "bright" and "clear" but still masculine. But you can tell that he pulls his voice more forward, since it sounds like it comes more from his head/face which is what gives it this almost "light" texture compared to Kyungsoo. This is also why he can support higher notes better because of his tendency to pull from his head/face. It enables him to stay in that register longer compared to KS. Although this is a double-edged sword because he can sometimes sound nasally. Regarding technicality: KS and BH are very close in terms of their technical prowess, sometimes it depends on the person you ask. For me though, I would say that at least in 2016 - 2018 era, KS is a little better with his singing technique than BH (I haven't heard KS sing as much in 2019, so I can't say if this is still true now. BH sounds like he has improved a lot too). I say this because I don't think a lot of people realize how tricky it is to pull off melismas (or runs/riffs) in comparison to belting. Kyungsoo's voice is the most agile in EXO. To have an agile voice requires a lot of practice, good placement of the voice, and control so that it can scale through runs/riffs without losing precision, speed, pitch, and direction. Not to say that belting doesn't require all of the above, but it can be a little bit more forgiving since it is a bit easier to hold a sustained note than to scale through them. Although Chen and BH can definitely do runs/riffs, I believe KS's precision and clarity is on another level. If you listen closely, you can really hear each individual note in his runs/riffs (when done properly). This is definitely a skill that isn't as highlighted in EXO's singing compilations, but it is a testament to Kyungsoo's control and technique. Also, at first hearing, some vocal coaches note how well balanced Kyungsoo's voice is when he sings and how his voice just floats, meaning that it sounds very effortless (almost "buoyant" is how I can describe it). This was also my first impression when I heard him sing and I can say a lot more since it is really interesting to learn about, but this is getting too long lol. D.o. always better than Baekhyun since debut until now in techniques , he only member who can support A4 in debut day . Baekhyun not improve , he still support until A4 . He better than d.o. only in lower register but it's not big too not like Chen who can support until A2 , Baekhyun only in C#3 while D.O. in D3. In mix register and belting D.o. much better in techniques than Chen and Baekhyun because he can supported consistent Bb4. For upper register, all of their are weak and so incosistent. So in techniques vocal D.O. always better than Baekhyun

What makes his voice so unique is that he can make his voice be so smooth and sweet, be rough and growling & he can make highnotes too. His voice can make ANYTHING. His runs and riffs are so natural and effortless. His angelic voice is just the best. I just fell in love with him and his heavenly voice.❤

I dont want to campare make down of other members like chen and baek. i think D.O also had wider vocal range, and also good tone quality but, maybe he is comfortable with what he is doing right now. He just seem dont want over do it with his voice like chen and baek. But still look like he can support high and low note if he want to do it. Maybe that good for him to stay for a long term in dinging career.
