And it hurts me to think that Alabama had #1 hits with 2 songs that JP wrote. But, that's the nature of the business!!

I’ve seen them perform twice. They never disappoint.

Saw them in Biloxi opening for Alabama recently. AMAZING with a capital A. I didn't want them to stop. And of course they closed with I Wanna Kiss You all Over

One of my all time favorite groups, alot of people don't know how many beautiful songs they have written for others. I ordered their music again after seeing them on Larry's Country Diner, not a cassette this time. God Bless them.

When you consider how long these guys have stayed relevant and together at this level is amazing. They are still amazing singers and great musicians. I think these guys would do this for $100 per show.

At 79 now some of the details escape me, but I think it was around 73 or 74 I was in a band called Kudzu and we played a club in Kentucky, either Lexington or Louisville tho I'm thinking Lexington that was called the Proud Mary. It was just opening and they had a beautiful place to play, nice stage. And these guys split the gig with us and they had just come in from signing a contract with I think their first label. They were basically unknown at the time but they sure sang good and as we now know they went on to do great things. They're still good!!

Don't forget Jimmy stokely. Put your hands together. Richmond Kentucky and Lexington KY in the late sixties and early seventies. Wonderful group way back then and now. Rest in peace. Thank you. Roy in Knoxville Tennessee

I've listened to the songs countless times now and I'm always amazed by their three-part singing! And I just can't get enough of it! Especially since the boys are my age! Incredibly good!

Remember the Huey Lewis and the News song "Heart and Soul" - it was first recorded by Exile in the late 70s, although they didn't write the tune. The Huey Lewis version and Exile version are essentially the same.

No, that was written by Mike Chapman and Nicky Chinn (same writers of "Kiss You All Over").

I didn't know Exile before. But here I think they're brilliant!

Saw them in Greeneville Tennessee at a little cafe/ restaurant. They were Absolutely Awesome!!!

I finally got to see them at June Jam in Fort Payne Alabama this year! Great show, they sounded great even after all these years!

Really good guitar playing on that Part Time Star number. That Jimmy Caps half time click is really neat, really enhanced Taylor Milpass' great lead playing. I think Taylor Millpass' guitar playing needs to be watched..The Brothers are really outstanding musicians.

Seen them probably 20 years ago believe it or not, it's crazy how good they still sound live. These guys are from the Heyday of bands and supergroups in country music

The biggest hits for Exile in the Stokley pop music era were all written by their producer Mike Chapman.

Not so. Chapman wrote Kiss You All Over - the only hit Exile had as a pop/rock band. But other songs from that era were also written by the band, including “The Closer You Get” which you just heard them sing and was on their very first album. Yes Chapman produced the song but as you can see it’s in the medley and he didn’t write it. Exile couldn’t follow Kiss You All Over, Stokely got let go and Exile went country. “Take Me Down” as you just heard was also a song from Exile’s pop/rock days. I’ve known these guys forever and Steve Goetzman, the drummer, has been probably my best friend for decades. So I’m not just making stuff up to be argumentative. I just wouldn’t want people thinking that these guys couldn’t write when Chapman had them.

I love all those songs you sang and Alabama Jenny Roger's Willie Nelson Waylon Jennings Merle haggard Chris Christopherson. They became a country band because country artists kept recording songs they wrote and getting hits off of them.
