My sister age 65 and 8 years older than me, died suddenly last month. This, and SO many songs of the 70's remind me of her. She was in charge of the radio, so I had no choice but to listen to what she wanted. I remember this song, and how I had NO idea of what it was really about. My naive self sang it loudly with her as it was something she liked. Any music she liked I love to this day. Keep 70's music alive!

The car was the size of a boat and I was laying right under the back window looking up at the stars with this song rocking out in the speaker right below my head.

Funny when this came out as a teen I loved the song then recall my sister laughing at me when we saw the lead singer as he must’ve been in his 30s. She said he’s yours and I laughed and said the back up singer was hers. But now I’m old I think Jimmy is gorgeous. Very unique character, very shiny personality and great hair!

@Wilmie! The young ones are offered junk by the money driven music companies. During the war there was no real coffee to buy, so people started to make surrogate coffee made of potatoes and tulip bulbs, here in the Netherlands. After the war they preferred the surrogate coffee over the real coffee, for some time. So you see, if you're offered junk, you start to love it.

Si en aquellos años me hubiesen dicho que más de 40 años después estaría escuchando ésta canción con el mismo gusto de aquella época no me lo hubiese creído 😮

Just please, listen to the song and not whatever this guy is doing. He definitely has the voice but, not the looks and pleading. Now I'm hysterical.

I was born in 1976 and I cannot lie. I was in a stroller in 1978 and honestly I remember hearing this song as my parents were into music and played it all the time. I sill remember this song after over 45 years. I always love this song and it really has shaped my life to this day. God Bless Jimmy Stokley and he is a music legend. God Bless and rest in peace as you have shaped m y life and make me cry every time I hear this song.
