Exercise Southern Jackaroo 2022

Exercise Southern Jackaroo is a trilateral warfighting training activity between Australia, Japan and the United States designed to enhance our interoperability, strengthen our relationships and improve combat readiness.
Australian Army personnel primarily from Brisbane’s 7th Combat Brigade trained alongside the Japanese Ground Self Defense Force and United States Marine Corps personnel in Queensland’s Shoalwater Bay Training Area from 09 - 29 May 2022.

    Fantastic part of the world to train? Yeah, in the Dry. Not so much in the wet. Too many bitey things & the humidity, oh the humidity & never forget the prickle heat. Good luck.

    I hope we are learning the lessons from Ukraine, need to get some indigenous MLRS capability, indigenous UAV capability as well as missile defence systems.

    Not the best weapon presentation re house clearing. You need to push rather than raise. Weapon should be at high shoulder and flat.

    @@Calais05 sasr is independent from army command (something the army wants to change), and they also are apparently incapable of the discipline the army shows as evidenced by the amount of war crimes they command in comparison to the size of the unit.

    @@unknownunknown743 there have been allegations about war crimes, however there have been no convictions, and there has been no trial, facts about the case known by the public are minimal so do you have any further info that your typical person on the streets does not have?

    @@ianoloughlin6670 there are quite a few leaked videos in the public domain on the subject, and I would say those are pretty good indicators regardless of conviction, the Bereton report also has a few incidents as reported by SASR members, also which is in the public domain. The only thing which isn’t public information is what my adf friends have said but that isn’t really much. Edit: But you are right, I shouldn’t be throwing war crime around too much without conviction.
