cool video fellas, just a bit of physics info: the speed that the object eventually reaches is proportional to its mass and inversely proportional to its section area. So the fastest of objects would be something like a golf ball which has a high weight (mass to be more exact) and a small section area. Enjoyed the video gents. Thumbs up from me and Cheers from HH.

Makes sense to me that these super low density things where friction is going to be a significant will have their spin stripped much quicker than something with more inertial capacity. You can definitely see it with the first soccer balloon.

For those of you who don’t know, the Magnus effect is when you are walking along the bottom of a tall canyon or building and get nailed in the head with a ball from some random sport.

My buddy and I threw a Superball off the Los Alamos Canyon bridge back in the 1960s. It was a 300 ft., plus drop to a paved road below. The return bounce seemed about 2/3 rds of the original distance, but it skewed off the the side after that and caromed off the rock walls of the canyon.

To everyone complaining about "littering", the Drakenberg mountains is a world heritage site and they were clearly guided on their tour, they would have been fined HEAVILY had they did not cleaned up afterwards. Also, they obviously would've needed to receive permission to do this in the first place, meaning that their behaviour would've been properly policed throughout.

I would really like to see the sky-hook at various angles. I wonder if 30-45 degrees down might go much further than going up and out as you gents tried. But we need to know! hahaha

Their anchored with ropes and harnesses, but they’re facing away from the cliff; the helmets are in case they slip because their heads will tend to go backwards into the rock face as the ropes catch them. Not to mention the possibility of a stone being dislodged on top of them during a rescue. When it comes to working at heights every little really can help.

@@I_drink_shoes I was a rock climber and did rope access training for working at heights in places like event halls, stadiums etc. To me it was clear as day what they were doing, but I have that background; I spent most of my working life around people doing that shit or doing it myself. Hell most lunches were spent swapping horror stories from "the day I nearly hit the deck from X (where X is an unsurvivable height) I figured that you like most people didn't have that background so I was happy to explain why they were doing it the way they did. Honestly climbing helmets always look goofy, but they do definitely have their place, on your head, instead of a sharp rock...I've learned that lesson the hard way. ;-)

Don't know what it is about getting old and growing more afraid of heights. I can still climb trees at 30 in record time, always have been part monkey when it comes to that. All the branches to grab if I do fall keep that endeavor fear-free for me. But thats where it ends. I used to be more than happy to put a ladder in a bobcat bucket and lean it cockeyed off something else, stand on the top run and operate a chainsaw with one hand to eliminate one pesky branch of a tree, with no safety equipment or fear. I could walk anywhere on a roof, lean over the edge, no problem even 3-4 stories high. I would walk on the short side of 2x4s that were 18 inches apart 20 feet high in the air carrying all the tools. But sometime after 30 all that fearlessness went to shit and here I sit with my ass puckered watching this video.

Geez, I'm sitting in my chair, feets tingling and I think I'm getting vertigo🤪

Im sure they try, but come on, it’s almost impossible to get the ping pong or the smaller balls if it’s taken by the stream. They just put it in the description to make people feel better, but you know either way they are polluting to an extent.
