When I moved to Colorado, I was lucky to buy a home that featured a very nice office space. It's one of those offices where there's actually no space for a desk against a wall and the only logical place to put one is in the middle of the floor. Fortunately, I also have a power outlet in the floor as well as an ethernet cable. I had a makeshift desk in place that had absolutely no storage so my desk was always a mess. This Executive Desk project features not only storage, but a few technology upgrades and creature comforts like in-drawer power, wireless charging, built-in outlets, and a ventilation fan. If you're interested in a full video series and a complete set of plans, check this project out in the Wood Whisperer Guild.

At first I thought: "Meh.... a desk... this should get boring fast...." Boy was I wrong. I love every singl aspect of that build. The hidden drawer, the seamless drawer pulls, the curved legs, the glass door... everything. Simply said: Awesome! Oh and Muntins.... Best Regards from Germany, Daniel

I thought exactly the same thing! Iv'e seen his work before so should have known better, but it was really good to see so much of his project that he still did by hand, amazing craftmanship
I'm not usually into the traditional style furniture, but the craftsmanship that went into that desk is absolutely top notch! I love the handle pulls and the hidden drawer
Love this!!! After I retired from military service I decided I wanted to get into wood working. I've purchased a few tools. And... yeah, that's kind of all I have done. I'm looking to build myself a nice executive desk, and a few bookcases/hutches, but with much simpler technics than you used here. Love what you've done here, it looks amazing and I'll bet it will last a few lifetimes.
In my 60+ years on this earth I have never uttered these words, "I have serious desk envy right now"! But I have now. Awesome desk.
I don't even want a desk, but I want this project to learn all your incredible tricks. You are the master of approachable ways to level up.
'For the ALLIANCE' - excellent work
I have watched a lot of KZread wood workers, and this is my first video I’ve seen of your. Dude, you are SAVAGE. I’m blown away right now. I started wood working last year at 32 years old and thought I was making progress.. I have re-evaluated my life after this 13 minute video. Your craftsmanship is outstanding. Great work man!
You had me at muntin, this has to be one of the best pieces I have seen in a long time, the detail and wood made connectors show your craftsmanship. The cherry finish came out great!!!
By far my favourite project that you have done. Been following you since "A king and his Castle" your attention to detail and production values just get better and better. To be honest, you were the inspiration to making my own videos. But I imagine there are a lot of people on youtube who can say that. Thank you.
Alright. Either I'm showing my age (as I'm closing in on 40 by most people's standards) or I'm maturing....but either way, Mark, this desk is probably my new favorite build. Showing the non-Festool floating tenons midway through gave me the idea to just cut one huge strip of wood, round the edges on both sides, and BAM! 6 feet of floating tenon to cut to length whenever I need it. Thanks man!
A secret drawer usually doesn't involve hundreds of thousands of people knowing but great job. Perfect all the way around.
No doubt the finest woodworker on KZread along with Diresta.. Love the precision work and attention to detail!
Very sleek classic looking, love the hidden drawer
Really love the strategic use of the sapwood. Came out beautiful Marc. Oh, and "muntins" lol - Jim

Muntins indeed, my friend!
Everything is pure quality. It turned out nice.
Mark, Mark, Mark.... I always knew you were a perfectionist, but this is ridiculous. It's always a pleasure to watch your videos. Not only your work is unequaled, but your videos are of high quality and you speak so well that no word goes astray. Keep eating your vegetables and be healthy. We need you for a few more years Mate.

Jo Michat , I didn’t see a single Mark in this video. Plenty of muntin’s though.
I haven’t watched one of your instructional videos in a while. With that music and narration, you should really start the video putting on a sweater and sneakers. Awesome desk!!!
How could anyone not like this?
Fantastic Job Mark. Looking forward to the guild
I know this is an old video but I just found it. This is a beautiful piece!
13 minutes+ of pure pleasure....excellent job Mark!
A freaking TON of work!! Congratulations and thank you Marc!

Thanks for watching!
A real artisan in a world full of quick and fast. Thanks!
Finishes are like opinions and... you know what. Love how that wax finish looks on the cherry it really is a living finish which can be re-applied at any time. I could see a tung oil applied on a high-use desk surface, too. As a nerd by trade and at heart, I love the tech touches and emphasis on retaining the plain wood desk surface. There are a million ways to make wood furniture fancy, so the restraint demonstrated in this project is appreciated.

Thanks man. SOO much restraint. I really wanted to pop electronic grommets everywhere but decided against it, lol.

Thinking about it, a slot that runs nearly the width of the piece with modular inserts might serve that purpose on another project with the requirement for many powered devices to be connected. Good to be creative in the morning hours!
Not wrong in the head! Great attention to detail! Like the buffing pad finish application.
Nice video, thanks so much Mark! We miss you in Arizona
Nice, I really like those drawer pulls.
Love the idea of the wireless charging built in. I may have to think about that if I ever build some sort of furniture in which that would be handy.
Alternative to the locking mechanisms: bed hooks. Take a few minutes to make sure they are lined up right, and it'll be strong enough to sleep on.
turned out so sick dude!!
Maestro Spagnuolo, you sir are the Tony Stark of all of my woodworking superheroes, tnx for such a quality inspiring woodworking video!! ( Muntin I guess is your second favorite woodworking word, the first one is Finness, just a thaught)
Your work is wonderful and with a high-tech touch of art it is any country you are
Your projects sometimes overwhelm me with their complexity and details! Taking on a project like that seems so daunting (and this is coming from a woodworker of more than 10 years). In the end, it's mostly inspiring though, so keep it up!
Impressive. You are a skilled craftsman. beautiful piece. Love your sense of humor.
You're the real deal. Congrats on an incredible project.
I love the detail you put into this build but also not make it super complicated just because you can. I feel like some woodworkers just go overboard because they can. This gave me some great idea's for my future "Battlestation"
Fun to watch , very instructive and quality craftmanship
Made a sneaky little hidden drawer *shows it on YT with half a million subscribers lol* nice build man ;) good craftsmanship!
That is a beautiful piece of handiwork there. I love all the little touches, from the wooden grommet cover to the hidden drawer.
So that's what a quality desk looks like crafted by a master!
Great video and the humour was...... funny, unlike 99%, well done

It annoys me how easy you make this look! I say this seriously but also with some jest, keep up the good work!
Drawer pulls were pretty cool!
So glad you are making videos again.

Love the drawer handles
The sculpted pulls are a really neat feature!
Nice. I really like the drawer pulls.
Pretty dang nice Mark. Thanks for sharing.
Beyond outstanding. You are a tenth degree master craftsman! When I feel something is at the point of zenith, I have a homemade word I use. Wonderbar!!
Absolutely beautiful work Marc and awesome video.

Wow, really nice piece of furniture.
Technically speaking, they would be Muntin pane Mittens 10:38. That said... you sold me as a new subscriber on the first view of this video. Props on a fine piece and an enjoyable video.
Very nice work! I like that every step is easy to follow and replicate and still the end result is quite awesome!
SKILLS!! I’ve watched many of your reviews but it’s nice to se me you building. Boy, I learnt lots just watching this. Thanks buddy.
Wonderful work and beautiful design. I like it.
Hi WW... I am a retired woodworker... Even now I still watch vids and learn a trick or two. I just wondered if you have ever explored the idea of using a CNC machine... I have just bought an Xcarve from Inventables... It only has a 500 x 500 bed as I don't need a large machining field... This also has a free software to get you stated. I hope you will explore this idea in the near future... It seems CNC is becoming more and more popular... Frank... UK...
I literally never forget the name of those cross pieces now LOL - MUNTIN!
My goal in my woodworking is to be just as talented as you! Fantastic work Marc! Cheers from Bossier City, Louisiana!
So is the act of cutting a muntin on the miter saw a muntin chop? Incredible work as always!

I love it! No need to feel guilty over the domino :) you’ve earned it.
Sapwood rocks! Great piece Mark!
Already on my Christmas list! Looks great
Excellent work. The details make all the difference. Muntin else to say.
That is absolutely beautiful.

Sorry Marc but after today's live show on your other channel, I unsubbed both. Maybe work to keep politics out of your content, some of us just are tired of hearing it, plus no one gets told anything about making those comments, unless their view differs from you then they get yelled at.
you sir just got another subscriber. i wish i had a woodshop like yours.
awesome! The hidden drawer is the best!
Knocked it out of park on this project, Marc! Well done, sir!
That desk is gorgeous, and I really like the finish. I personally don't mind maintaining my own items if it gives me more benefits.
Am I the only one concerned by the fact that Mark plays an Affliction Lock? Oh well... at least it's an Alliance Lock!!
What a Beautiful Job!
love handles.. I mean I love the handles and pulls. Finish is very nice.
Great job as always! The 22 dislikes must be the sapwood haters out there.
That Mac Pro is awesome! Good woodworking as always!

It looks phenomenal, your attention to detail is really admirable.
Good choice on the account infinity fan, I have two of them to cool our router access points. Silent, yet a very good air flow. And the APs don't freeze any more. Software wise, I meant.
i consider you the LeBron of woodworking
Phenomenal Build, now get to work.
Beautiful desk, love how you added all the different joinery just because you could Thank you for sharing
Absolutely brilliant piece!
Now that is a desk one can be proud of.

Blum soft close drawer mechanism. V. nice. Just used those myself on a (however far more primitive) project.
I really like how you made a nice sized cable passage way, with a cover. For access to the top of the desk. Definitely going to reapprorpriate that idea from you.
Awesome desk and cool tattoo!
Just became a full Guild member today! Although this desk is waaaay out of my skill set at the moment. Looking forward to some challenges ahead!

Welcome, my friend. Always attempt things that are beyond your current skill level. That’s how you progress quickly. 😁👍
This is the first of your videos I've watched and it was very interesting. You really made me laugh with the comment about liking the sap wood. You seem to get mentioned by heaps of other makers on youtube and I can see why so many admire you!

That’s a very slick build Marc. It looks like it’s perfect for your needs. I’m going to look closely and see if it could be adapted to more of an Arts and Crafts style.
Wood Whisperer is the GOAT
It's a pleasure to watch you build this beautiful desk 😊
Absolutely beautiful job.
Great video but you got the full thumbs up when you made the sap wood comment at the 9 minute mark. Too funny.
I want to make this desk when I get my own house but I’ll add a few extras since I do most of my automotive electrical work inside like a plug on top with a slight lip and strip lighting to light up what I’m doing
You really are the Wood Whisperer. The desk looks amazing.
Your videos are something else thanks for sharing. Amazing 👌👌👌👌
Just beautiful.. but slotted screws to hold the glass in. Come-on-man. Looks fantastic
What a treat to watch you build this desk. Wish I'd seen this video before I started on my own desk. Might have to start over ... ;)
Very beautiful desk, love the details and the beautiful handle to the drawer and the doors. Thank you for sharing your amazing video
wow! that's a piece of ART! when i saw that handle trick, i paused and clicked the like & subscribe button!! awesome job!!
