If you think about it, Needlemouse and M have similar backstories. M got backstabbed by Daddy Dearest, Needlemouse got killed by her friends. Both got stuck for a long time in their respected video games and went crazy for revenge. When revenge was fulfilled it didn't fulfill them and left them wanting more, for Needlemouse it was more revenge and for M was regret.

To be fair, The problem with Sonic.exe mod makers that they overpowering BF and GF for no reason as even Xeno can actually one shot both of them. But Mario.exe mod makers doesnt to that idiot "overpowering" bf and gf shit and actually makes them lose. There rare sonic.exe mods where exe wins as people lets bf win every time no matter how much the exe hes approaching powerful.

You know, M was taking logic in the end credits song, and it actually implied with the gamers (in my point of view), when he killed both bf and gf, he started to feel regret on killing them both, because they were the only ones who survived for very long until they get to confront him for the last time, he might have gotten what he wanted but because of that, he ended up being alone again, as for the gamers, its like 100 percenting a game they got, and when they went back to play it again, they realised that it wouldnt be the same when starting a new game, repeating the whole process and, eventually, not play the game again (this is only for games that have a campaign or story mode, not online mode nor constant updates)

In fact, M's regret is only for killing BF because he was the one who entertained him after so long, GF was always the target but BF was only coincidences and M's interest. If we realize, he never wanted to kill BF with his own hands: They made a deal for him to escape, he didn't kill them when he got angry, he let them go to the Overworld and in All Stars he gave him the opportunity to end his own life
