Would lov to live iin this castle. To me it would be 'heaven on earth!' Having money certainly makes life so much better. It would take mainting and money for this, but that is why you need money in order to keep a home liek this going as it needs to be, and certainky coud o o much with it. I would have a health spy. Healng Touch and Reiki healing offered. Switimming and more. Lovely!

If I had that kind of money, I would choose a different style of remodel. A cheetah bathtub is definitely not my cup of tea. But the castle bones are magnificent. Get rid of the furniture, padded walls and white gold theme and redo the bathrooms and it can be a really cool place. I'll never understand why people buy these castles to make them look like a new shiny modern hotel.

Beautiful property, grounds, outbuildings. The unfortunate interior of the chateau shows that all the money in the World cannot buy good taste! It looks like an expensive bordello. Except for the kitchen, which is beautiful! If I had the money I would buy it and get rid of all the new cheesy gilt and return it to it's original 18th/19th Cent splendor.

Fabulous outside, inside too hotel-ish.
I think it is beautiful. There are enough custom finishes and unique items to delight (or draw bitterness) from anyone. I think the gilded frames on the bookcases are unfortunate. I think the cut glass globes on the chandelier on the staircase are nice…but with the budget here, a Chihuly bespoke cascade would have been more artful. Everyone will have opinions. This decor reminds me of an apartment in Paris (which, shall I remind you, is not a bad thing.) I too would prefer a chateau preservation decor and a more relaxed, comfortable feel. But, look at the kitchen. Imagine cooking in a cathedral!. It is the most beautiful kitchen in France. Isn’t that worth a compliment?

How much is this chateau
I am very interested in historic architecture and looking for a Chateau to buy for quite some time now but I absolutely don't like if most historical elements are destroyed just like in this beautiful Chateau. So sad
Beautiful building but the interiors are AWFUL and not befitting such a beautiful home. 😵💫

OMG! Why did they do this to the château? Why not just build it from scratch if this is what they wanted. I understand that chateaux historically had major renovations over the centuries according to the styles of the period, but what period is this exactly?

They must have gotten a good deal on the paint because nearly the entire chateau is painted in the same color scheme. (Edit: it's lovely, but to modern.)
Good luck selling it. Somebody destroyed the interior. Most people wanting a castle will not want this. They painted over a lot of the wood. If the owner wanted a modern house, they should have found one or built one. They shouldn't have destroyed a historic structure. 🙄

@@lolodee3528 I have thought the same, when I saw the interior. No, a French billionaire, who lives in Africa, restored it. I remember it from much earlier times and set my novel "Château de Fleurac" there. Written and published in German, but now translated into French. It's about a woman, who wants and is supposed to redeem haunting spirits in this castle, a destroyed place of power, in order to heal place and earth. The very former owner allowed me to stay there in the unrestored castle, because I found a large amount of documents in my farmhouse nearby of a viscount who owned the castle in the 19th century. I know the history of the castle very well. And yes, this viscount was a devil too.
Interesting that people associate money with "old". I should think that living in a country filled with chateaux that you'd tire of wood paneling eventually and look for something new. I think it's refreshing. Overdone, but not without a sense of whimsy that would appeal to someone attached to the worlds of film or fashion. Not everything needs to stay ancient. I DO hope that people who want to do this purchase damaged buildings and "upgrade" them rather than taking preserved chateaux and covering them in a coat of paint. But also, a hundred years people were having the same argument and nobody looks at a hundred year old building now and question their taste. It's simply how people are. If there were only three left, there should be opinions... but there are hundreds of them through France. Let people like whatever they like. You don't have to buy it nor do you have to live there.

Of course, Chateaux are now being gutted and outfitted to the taste of arabs with oilmoney. Not exactly subtle in adressing an extremely specific taste/buyer. I find it tragic old monuments of history have lost all their cultural value. This could be anywhere in the Emirates, only outside is it obvious it's not.
Are you sure this is in France ? 😂 It looks so americanized that it feels like a Los Angeles mansion masquerading as a French Renaissance château 🤦🏻♀️ where did all the stone in the basement go? Where did the original parquet go? Might as well build a completely new mansion at this point and give it a vaguely french exterior like all those American mansions calling themselves Versailles when they have absolutely nothing to do with the real thing
The outside looks like a chataue, but the inside, like a very modern hotel done by somebody with very bad taste!
