My Dad had this problem on both hands and I've just found out it came from having Viking descendants . I'm new to your channel and I'm really enjoying it as I find I'm always inheriting sewing machines,, 😊

I find your comments about other repair shops rejecting repairs on older machines just such a sad indictment of the sewing machine industry, their business model and lack of knowledge. Clearly they buy a shop and prefer to sell a new machine rather than keep a quality machine going. The environmental line they used was just ridiculous; it’s way better to repair than junk and rebuy. I’m so happy to see repair cafes happening over here in Australia now; we need to keep quality units going. You are going to need a new shed to fit the collection coming!

Sadly, sewing repair shops also sell new machines so they give you excuses not to repair your machine and try to get you to buy a new one. I see that here in the USA all the time.

Indeed. I've overheard outright lies in a sewing machine shop here in NZ about the repairability of a superb 1980s Elna. Disgusting.
