But, regardless of the outcome in the ring, I genuinely hope and pray for Volkanovski's success in health, finances, family, mental well-being, and happiness. My support for Makhachev in the fight doesn't diminish the respect I have for Volkanovski as a person. He's a terrific role model for how to conduct oneself in life.

Only difference is Volk still has his Championship belt with him (and defended it too) while pursuing lightweight glory. Guy really does live up to his nickname.

It would be nuts to see Volk win the belt then later in Jan defend his own belt and after that in 2024 defend the Lightweight belt. That would be one hell of a life script for the ages.

Hopefully after Islam defeats him again in this rematch...he and his teammates doesn't comes out with any excuses and reasons.

It’s just not worth it in my opinion, he won the first fight. Now he doesn’t even get a full camp before the rematch.

Amazing, we've got 1 of, if not the best squads in international football. I'm still not convinced about Southgate. Any decent manager would've won summat with this team already. If he doesn't deliver at the next tournament, then I think that he's got 2 go!

Watching the whole fight back with zero sound just shows me that Volk did won. Landed more strikes, did more facial damage, dropped him once and that’s that. Islam held onto Volk for dear life and even so, Volk was landing more punches and doing more damage. Take those minutes away from islam where he just stalled the fight doing nothing then what did he do in the fight? Nothing. He dropped Volk to a knee that’s it.

Volk made a good point that I’ve been thinking of. The line to Makhachev was 2 fights deep and with how long Islam takes between fights, volks age, it could’ve all been factors in him not getting the rematch he deserved.

I thought Islam won 48-47 and that the 49-46 card was a bit harsh. Alex looked good in his last fight but Islam is well rested. It should be a great fight. I have Alex to finish the fight in any manner at 5.3-1.
