Honestly, I am so grateful for these uploads! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 As a fan who supports England above all, this channel is a real breath of fresh air. On KZread, it feels like 99% of England related fan videos are made by fans who support top 10 Premier League clubs and only take a real interest in England when we're at major tournaments or achieve a particularly big result. It always feels like there's an expectation from them that England should function like a top 4 Premier League club and that "if only Pep or Klopp were in charge", we'd win every trophy in sight, and that "if only Southgate would pick X player, having a half decent season for X club", England's midfield/defensive concerns would miraculously disappear... It feels as though, although a lot of these fans undoubtedly want England to win, they don't follow the actual team that intently and project their opinions and expectations from the Premier League on England and international football more generally, rather than draw conclusions from actual England performances and the current international football climate. I'd go as far as saying that some fans actually make very strong worded videos, attacking Southgate and certain players, as they know that it's low hanging fruit as far as clicks and likes are concerned. Slating the best England team since we won the actual World Cup seems to be a tried and tested formula for developing and maintaining a KZread following. I sense that your guests do actually think England have a good chance in the summer, despite them saying they don't think we'll do it, and I appreciate your courage in vocally backing us to win it. Of course, there is an impressive field of national teams competing to be champions, so we'll need luck on our side. We could very easily not win it but, come on, if you can't feel optimistic about England's chances at Euro 2024 then when realistically can you? Let's see how it goes... What I will say is that, assuming the players keep progressing and maintain their form/fitness, there is no reason why 2026 can't also prove an exciting year for England. Kane is, in my opinion, only just peaking. He'll be 32/33 in 2026 and, given he's not too reliant on pace, he could still be an elite centre forward in his mid 30's (see Lewandowski, Benzema, Suarez, for instance). He has the levels of professionalism to do it. It will of course depend on whether the FA make the right management choice should Southgate depart beforehand (personally, I hope he remains, so long as we have a generally positive Euros)... Don't give up belief. Regardless of whether it's this year, England are going to win a World Cup or Euros eventually... Bring on the Euros in the summer for now though and BELIEVE! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Thanks for the video, I'll be tuning in throughout the build up!

Hard to come by channels actively talking about England as in depth as you 3 are here currently. I think as English fans, we are all extremely optimistic and now more so than we have ever been before, perhaps. Can I ask, do you personally feel that the officials will be a boon next summer? They were against France at the last world cup, as well as costing us 3 points potentially against Ukraine in the away qualifying fixture. They also were partly to blame for the lionesses not progressing to the nations league semi finals recently in both fixtures against Holland. The more I think back on certain tournaments, I remember referee decisions being the factor when the match was lost despite being extremely close. I think of Sol Campbell's disallowed goal against Portugal in 2004, Jesse Lingard's offside goal against Holland in the nations league semi final, Rooney being sent off against Portugal in 2006 to name just a few within the last 20 years.

I think all you can hope for as a fan of any team is that a poor referring decision does not cost your team. Sadly if it is England or not I have no doubt that a poor decision will result in one team going out when they shouldn't such is football these days. The problem with England never winning things has nothing to do with the quality of players. I think France has just as big of a chance, assuming Mbappe is healthy.

Love the podcast, you should do one with the lads, right before the tournament, reacting to the squad selection! One element that you didn't mention was the manager's inablity to make big decisions in the biggest of games. Whether it's failure to load up the attack with the addition of James Maddison, bringing in Rashford and Grealish earlier, in the France game. Or like not adjusting the formation to counteract Italy's constant attacks by bringing in fast counter-attacking players, and adding another midfielder to help Rice and Phillips prevail against Jorginho, Verrati and Berella. I'll give him a pass for Croatia 2018! Southgate's in game management has been questionable at best, and outright passive at best! So no i personally don't think that we'll win the Euros!

Interesting points and I think what you discuss here are the games that Russell was referring to. Glad we discussed it. Nothing will change of course but I think many feel Southgate will be the problem.

Our four most essential players are: Bellingham Kane Rice Pickford If these 4 get injured then we simply do not have the squad depth to replace them. From the qualifiers, the substitutes I’ve seen for these lot have been to put it bluntly awful. Like I like Watkins as a player but I think the England pressure is too much for him to play well. Same for Maddison as well to be a potential Bellingham sub. As for Rice we just don’t have anyone to replace him currently with tournament experience. Yes I think we will have future talents that can fill his role like Mainoo but he’s still young and inexperienced in the international level and I don’t want to see him get crushed mentally by experiencing the pressure of wearing that England shirt affecting his game. But if we get that rare chance of a Bellingham entrance to his England career then I think Mainoo could be brilliant and even potentially be above Rice in the pecking order. So I do hope he gets called in our next two friendlies and potentially be given some game time to experience international games and get used to the pressure of wearing that England shirt. Now onto the Pickford situation. Do I think he’s an amazing keeper. No! Absolutely not. The level of experience he has at club level compared to the other big teams keepers is big. He has no CL experience unlike the others so they’re more used to facing tougher opposition. But the sad reality is we have no other option. Pope is in the same situation as the watkins and Maddison example and is currently injured so I doubt he’ll even get a call up and then theres Ramsdale who doesn’t even get game time. So our goal keeping situation is a huge problem in my eyes too.

Harry Kane is key, but let’s be honest when has Harry ever really lit up the pitch for England in the way Jude Bellingham has? Without Jude England really don’t stand a chance.

I get your point but I do disagree. Remember how good Kane was that night in Spain or at home against Italy in the qualifiers. Kane brings so many people into the game and is just truly world class.

@@ChannelEnglandFootballCEF I’m not talking about qualifiers. I’m talking about when it COUNTS, I want to see Kane be the player that makes the difference. So far he hasn’t done that for England like Mbappe does for France. Look at Mbappe performance in the WC finals x2 . Unstoppable. If he wants to be considered one of the greatest strikers of all time, you hit the target in the BIG games and you make your presence felt. Semi finals and finals, Kane has gone missing for England whilst Jude has shown he has the mentality and spirit of a champion and he’s 10 yrs younger. He NEVER lets his team miss an opportunity.

@@ChannelEnglandFootballCEF and I don’t really see how you can call Harry Kane the star of that Italy qualifier at Wembley. Jude won the penalty, and for the second goal he won the ball back and took England up the pitch on the counterattack. This is what I want to see from Harry, take responsibility, like Jude does.

England have an accessible groups with opponents on the same level. Shame to be only team in the group not play in Munich but I'm happy with Colonge. Serbia have talents in attack, centre and attacking midfield areas, Kostic on the left but defensive they a big liability. We could see an Iran score. Denmark are decent Slovenia are good with Oblak and a clinical number in Benjamin Shesko. They are being slept on an I actually have them 2nd at the moment. I have England 1st with seven points, maybe nine. I think England should get to the semis. France, Portugal and Spain will be tough but do able so I think England have what it takes to win. Gareth Southgate has also got better too. My line up as of now is Pickford, Walker, Stones, Shaw, Rice, TAA, Bellingham, Foden, Kane, Rashford. Saka for Trent if it's a 4-2-3-1.

will England win the euro’s?🤔 watching the lionesses during their Euro's win I had no doubt that they would go on to become European champions on home soil🤩😊😊!! the men = I wonder why I watch the men after years of😭and shoot out's failure's I will get behind the men when I actually see them reaching and Winning the euro’s by getting on with it playing good tough football without time wasting arguing with the REF nonsense!! They just need to get on with it!!

Let's say your team is on the same level as Belgium a few years ago.. talent is there, but at the end of the day.. what have they achieved??? they have always been outsiders but never favorites...Belgium never claimed loud to be favorites.. but England sees itself as such.. . I think England is at this level.. may be a bit humility could help as well
