Thank you AEW for the perfect christmas gift, a rematch between my 2 favorite wrestlers. This tournament has been amazing, every match has been great, every wrestler thats been involved has came out looking better. Its been the perfect way to close out the year and start out what will hopefully be AEWs best year ever 2024.

Take a second to appreciate that Bryan Danielson was once positioned as the king of the underdogs. Now he is convincingly the measuring stick that the new king of the underdogs, Eddie Kingston has to rally against. That is excellent storytelling because it is completely believable. Plus the disrespect shown to Eddie by Danielson weeks ago has now come back to fuel the story. Not only that, but it goes all the way back to their lack of respect when Eddie was helping out the Blackpool Combat Club and nearly set Danielson on fire. This tournament has been booked fantastically!

That week's collision was insane. Almost every match has delivered, crowd shouted THIS IS AWESOME at every match. This is what AEW is all about

It’s really beautiful actually. Bryan is so selfless, and even if he’ll go over next week, this program will lead to him losing to Eddie at some point. Both guys are awesome. This is what pro wrestling should always be.

Less than 2 minutes of this promo, and I'm hyped about this match. Yes!

Perfect tournament. Saying so because I don't think I see it getting any better. So much stories. Almost every wrestler here got a story arc progressed. Only Brody King didn't. But, he did play a great role of a mountain to climb of this tournament. This is f*cking awesome, thank you AEW.

This is what I like, there is a continuity of feelings between each character. Even though both of em are faces, their dislike for one another causes them to change.

@@redbumblebee4951 none of the above. AEW felt very rough around the edges when it started, but there was some interest and excitement. Around the time they signed Punk, a hugely flawed promotion but signs of genuine progress and breaking a million viewers. Since then it has only gone downhill to the point where it feels nothing like the potential of the original concept and has too many of the worst traits from 90's wrestling. AEW feels like a promotion with little to no structure, samey spotty matches, too much no selling, too much obvious cooperation between opponents for cheap pop spots, pushing the gimmick workers over some more talented people, a dwindling fan base with those left unwilling to criticise the flaws and none of the goodwill or momentum they had in the beginning.

If Eddie Kingston doesn't win this whole thing, then what is the point? Mox doesn't need it, Swerve is clearly headed for a World Title feud, Bryan's in his last year, and Jay still has another 15 years at least on his career. Let the Mad King wear the Triple Crown. He's more than earned it.

I love how fluid AEW is with good and bad, especially Danielson. Danielson has been the underdog of the tourney with his eye issue, except when he's lording it over Kingston. Then Nigel McGuinness is a heel commentator, but he will actively cheer on good guy Eddie against Danielson because his hatred of Bryan supersedes his heel tendency. It's refreshing.

In Pro Wrestling, young guys have to prove themselves. And they get put over, by losing or winning regardless. Want a perfect example of a young guy who lost 4 out of 5 matches and was put over in all of them? Daniel Garcia, nearly beat Danielson, nearly beat Claudio, nearly beat Eddie Kingston, nearly beat Andrade and beat Brody King by sheer heart. By losing to legendary Shibata, Garcia earned his respect as he showed how tough and loyal he is. What puts a wrestler over is Continuity and Consistency of his character. More unique, in depth and complexed the individual journey is, the more over that wrestler will get. And if that wrestler also delivers matches that tell a lot of story, that will put the wrestler over to the point fans will cheer for him to win every damn time. What a great story does is put over everyone.
