Exciting Bird Photography With Nikon Z9
Hi everyone! Just a short video from one of my daily photo trips to the newly established photo blind which is located next to the Livestream.
By the way, the Livestream has moved to its own channel: • Video
This is one of the first attempts to photograph from the blind and now I am just looking forward to see if I am lucky to see the badgers, raccoon dogs or fox.
See you out there...
All the best

the sound of reain falling is awesome
I love these shorter "more basic" videos when you're just not in the mood for crazy expeditions, seeing a forest early in the morning hits home for me. Great video!
Hello from France. I really like all your videos : Nice image and à true respect for nature and wildlife. I Hope you will make a new calendar for 2023 and I wish you the best.
The sound of rain on the blind was wonderful.
already loving this channel 🙏🏼💓 such a zen morning ☕️📷
I also love to sit in my garden and do photos of the birds
You have best studio set-up in the world, Nature!
That was so relaxed Morten. A perfect day watching & photographing wildlife, just wonderful.
Wonderful, I have been looking forward to this. It would have been funny if when your phone buzzed it was Gitte telling you the badgers had licked and smeared your live camera again 😉
Just when I think I won't be watching you anymore, you put out another video and you pull me right back in! Thank you Morten. You warm the spirit and put a smile on my face. Coral (Canada)
So good! Well done 👍 With the Z9, video is as good as photos! Just amazing.
Thanks for sharing this!
Another stunning video Morten, very tranquil morning you had the honour of witnessing
I could watch you all day Morten 🙏🏻 📸 thank you
Lovely to see what you've been up to in the hide. Great results from both video and stills. Loved the opening sequence with the Pheasant in the tree. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Morten! Thank you for sharing, 🥰🥰🥰 beautiful photos
this bird is very beautiful
Such a lovely way to start the day. Thank you for sharing some of the experience.
Thank you. Love sitting in my little hide watching and listening to the day begin, all the chatter between the birds. Fantastic. Stay well and safe travels. All the very best. 👍📷😎
Old Morten with coffee comeback :)
Thank you for this lovely pictures. I especially liked the ones with birds on the log. My next subjects are the male kestrel sitting on top of the church tower in the evening light and the young wood pigeons and magpies exploring the rooftops, planned to use in a lecture and booklet about urban birdlife. So very different environment compared to your lush green meadow and woods.
😮What a beautiful life. 💚🐾
I like this guy is always happy always amaze ,astonish a children front the nature he speak whit the heart for me the best ambassador for Nikon(excuse me for my english)
Beautiful footage of the woodpecker! Loving these videos from inside the photo blind
Very cool. Thank you for posting. A productive morning out there, for sure!
Great work as always. Look forward to your videos as it motivates me more to begin my photography journey again. Thank you friend
Buongiorno, mi piace tantissimo come spieghi la metodologia che solo i grandi profesionisti sanno fare. Per prima cosa la pazienza e aspettare il momento giusto. Sicuramente ti seguirò.
A video in the photoblind, one of my favourite kinds of video 😀The sound of the rain was such a mood. Nice to see the video from when I could hear you talking in the blind. I was hoping you were getting some nice photos and recordings and you did!

Thank you Morten, a very enjoyable video. Please can you tell me what the hide is that you are using? It looks ideal.
beautiful video beautiful video
MortenHilmer, thank you. It was interesting.
It is unsurprising that I follow your videos. I love the simplicity of your language, videos and the way you are in life. You are one of the professional photographers who gave me the necessary strength to start a dream that has been postponed for decades. However, I still fight against some basic technical challenges like the one I could see in your video: pre-focus (the first red rectangle that appears) and then Focus in the eye of the target. I suppose you have two back buttons assigned for each of these functions. I am a Canon shooter (R5). Any help/suggestion? Please?😇 (maybe a short tutorial?) Thank you very much and continues the excellent work inspiring thousands of human beings across the globe.
Love your work 😃 I just started out with wildlife photography. And I can learn allot of your videos. Here in Sweden we have so much nice nature and animals to document. Maybe you are in the area in the future, I would love to learn from you. LG Alex the Foxx
Hey morten:) Good to see you again 🥰🥹🤗
Some of your best work is right at home. Just like Monet,
Fantastic .Early morning is the best time and rain is an added bonus .Oh I enjoyed so much .I see you are a Nikon specialist ..Do I need such a person at this moment .I've just bought a P950..Ok not professional but rather heavy and having tried other options , dropping a lens is no joke .Previously used Panasonic but am impressed with videos I've seen using the p950 and the p1000...Zoom is fine but when birds are near the results are poor .Early morning is my time as there are no people about ..just wildlife ..Magical .. This was akin to viewing paradise -I must keep doing so much each day and in a few weeks it will click :) Thank you Morten and greetings from Berlin .

@@MortenHilmer For me it is pretty heavy lol but I manage .What I find odd is that bird images taken at say 2 meter are not crisp and forget macro .A new camera is akin to a library lots of "books" , metaphorically speaking I did a video for my channel using it .The Nikon and I are not as one yet and was happy I had my ancient Panasonic with me.( ultra portable :) Many thanks from Berlin .

Great Work tfs
Phenomenal. As per normal. Being budgeted, do you feel a 600mm 6.3 is too large for aperture or okay? I feel it may be too deep if there are things around a bird, but okay for open field type scene. Thank you for your help. Greatly appreciate it!
Hi Morten what a nice video again. we always look forward to the moment when you post another video . they are always a lot of fun and educational . you have a new tripod , which one is it ? Kind regards from both of us from the Netherlands.

What's up Morten? As always, nice video! I have only one question; Why so short? I was just getting into it. Anyway, really nice stuff. Peace!
A pleasure to watch your video. For a long time I've been trying to find ways to make money from the amazing video photos I take, and I haven't found a way to start making money, I'd love to get help from anyone. Thanks
Well done! Who makes the blind?
Hello Morten. I so look forward to your posts. Another very fine video. I do have one quick question, with those camo lens coats, do have to remove them from the lens after they get wet to dry, or do you leave them on your lens? Thank you again for taking us along on your journey.
@MortenHilmer

Hi there. I actually just leave them on. I do not always use them though. On my new 400 2,8 I still havent put one on. It makes it harder to access the different buttons.
That looks like a Rode VideMic NTG. How do you like that mic? Is it working good for birdsong and wildlife? I'm looking for a wildlife mic and wondering if I should go with the VideoMic NTG or go with a more complex setup with the Rode NTG5 XLR mic. Thank you for your work. Nice videos!😊
hi sir im a big fan of ur photogrphs

Hello Morten, I am currently using a d7200 with 200-500 mm and I exclusively do bird photography. Recently I have made a decision to buy a Nikon mirrorless but I am in a bit of a dilemma about the z6ii. Please could you give me some advice on what I should do or which one to buy which will be suitable for bird photography.
What kind of food did you use to attract them?
