Good reviews. I don't know where you find the energy and motivation to test all these knives as thoroughly as you do, but I'm glad, since it forces the knife companies to keep improving, which is good for everyone. Nice job.👍(although I liked the tweezers and toothpick.🙂)

The Stormrage immediately caught my eye when it came out. Glad the performance matches a great looking design and price. Keep up the great work buddy! 👍

I’m really liking the look of that Stormridge. A little too much belly but looks pretty perfect other than that. Great thorough review!

Found your channel a couple of months ago and already you have cost me quite a bit of money. :) If not the best, certainly among the best knife reviews on KZread. And I say that with many years of experience writing for Tactical Knives magazine, so I’ve written and seen a LOT of knife reviews and own an extensive collection of knives. But what I especially like about your reviews is the testing that you use. When I wrote for TK, all the knives I received were field tested. No eyeball knife reviews. You do a great job of testing and I also like the fact that you usually give the thickness of the blade just behind the edge, which is often not mentioned by many reviewers who base the slicing ability on the primary grind alone. Also, so many KZread knife pundits are lost without a baton to beat the crap out of a knife. I do baton knives but I don’t abuse them. You also are very good at giving the pros and cons from your point of view and don’t try to sensationalize your knife reviews. One suggestion though. I’m very much into bushcraft and outdoor survival and would like to know if the knife being reviewed will throw a spark from a ferro rod, especially if it is designed for outdoor use. A quick and dirty way to test this is to scrape your thumbnail with the spine. If it will scrape material off your thumbnail, that is usually a good indication that it will throw sparks from a ferro rod. I really love the looks of the Stormridge. Love the thin blade. Seems like we still have to beg knife makers (custom and factory) to make the blades thin. This was not the case back in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Same for the handles only the handles got thinner instead of thicker. I think the popularity of bushcraft knives helped bring back thicker handles. If it wasn’t for the thin handle on the Stormridge, I’d pick one up. I still might because I do a lot of camping and the large belly would make it great for food prep. Since the scales bolt on, it would be fairly easy to make some thicker scales for it but it would be even nicer if they were commercially available. Thanks for your great reviews and keep ‘em coming.

Neither one of these is really for me. But I love watching your testing of the knives and hearing your nitpicks and complaints. And of course I've got to hear the peace😊

Thanks for another great review Stassa! If you had to pick between this Civivi Stormridge or the Vosteed Mink, which would you pick? I don’t carry fixed blades, but they are quite often thrown into my backpack for the day or hiking (not camping). Thanks for any opinion! 🙏🏼

This will be great….i usually use a blade tip as a toothpick…..and that can be sketchy while driving. I dig the modern old school style.

Stassa. I own one knife built in China, the Padre. Soon I’ll own two, the Sendy. I saw the back story with the designer. Very cool for the price point. My thoughts

Why do knife makers think it's a good idea to have the tang of a fixed blade protrude out past the scales?

Buy a different knife if you want something functional and useful. The Civivi Sendy looks like an amazing knife, but it's not. This is a knife that needs constant babysitting. The Toothpick doesnt like to stay and tries to escape at the most inconvenient times. I've lost it 3 times, and this last time it seems to be gone for good. The tweezers are much to pointy they have zero purchase. In order to make them usable, I had to grind them down till they had a larger flat surface. I used sandpaper because i didn't have access to a grinding tool. The knife while very pretty, doesnt like to do its job of cutting. It tends to get hung up at the base and seems to dull quickly. When I say you have to babysit this knife, I'm not joking. This is supposed to be a reliable tool which holds 2 other tools. That's its purpose. When i told civivi about these issues, this was their reply...["The tweezers is placed on the presentation side scale, and the toothpick is placed on the lock side scales. If these positions are reversed, it may result in the toothpick being more prone to slipping out. The edge retention and sharpness is influenced by various factors, such as steel composition, blade geometry, thickness, hardness, and usage patterns. If there are any concerns or questions about your blade, we kindly suggest you send the knife to our USA after-sales center, we will check the blade. ] Why? If this issue was already known, why did this tool not come with instructions? Why inform me now? Why is it my job to pay them to look at something they know is a problem? Why do I need to babysit a tool? If I find another issue, are they gonna gaslight me again with instructions they didnt provide? I repeat, Buy a different knife if you want something functional and useful.
