IMO lab-grown are better. Why pay more for a lower-quality stone? Especially when the crystal structures are identical and the quality of the lab-grown ones are so good that they can pass for mined ones to some professionals? I'm not interested in contributing to the negative environmental or human impacts that mined stones have. If you have to go with "its low quality proves it's a good stone" it seems frankly ridiculous to me.

@@annedavis3340 I see Ur point. Lab-grown #gemstones are great for budget-#conscious shoppers who like the look without the high price tag. Environmental damage may or may not be reduced to the the effects of the #utilities used in manufacturing and processing. I'm #nativeamerican, so I believe that even stones possess a #soul. That's the biggest reason why I prefer #raw gems

Does this classify as AA, AAA or AAAA?

I received a man's Columbian emerald ring from a relative. The ring is gold and the stone is a darker green hue. The surface has no chips but there seem to be little cracks inside the stone itself. Always wanted such a ring and as I was born in May, the stone is exactly right. I was also surprised that my finger size was exactly right.

Hey Maxwell, Thanks for your question. Pricing depends on who you buy the stones from. Essentially you are not getting ripped off by your jeweler if they seldom sell emeralds, just expect a higher mark up from them as they go through multiple sellers/dealers to get the ultimate product to you. Same goes for a brand name like Cartier or Tiffany, expect a higher price since you primarily are purchasing a brand. Emeralds aren't my thing, but I very much enjoyed your video. The great thing about a natural gem is you can get to know a stone like a person. Its little quirks and highlights, all those things that make it unique. I like synthetics too, especially when it comes to color changing gems that can become ridiculously expensive for just tiny gems (Alexandrite).
