Great!! Happy to hear that!
Thank youuuu!
Super thanks! Question ... Why did you use 2 to check your answer?
@helpyourmath
Жыл бұрын
I used 2 from the perimeter formula. Once I found the length and width, I then plugged into P = 2L + 2W.
WOWOW NOW EVERYTHING MAKES SENSE

Yay!!!! So happy to hear that!
Why is this question in my homework has different numbers in each side, The upper length is (7x - 12) meters while the opposite length is (x + 24) meters, the right width is (3x) meters and the left side is (x + 12) meters, pls help i need answers and im finding the value of X and the dimension of the rectangle

The shape in your homework is a rectangle? And the variables are all x? One attribute of rectangles is that opposite sides are equal, so you can set the top length equal to the bottom or set the right side length equal to the left side length. Either way, you should determine the value of x. Then plug that value in to determine the dimensions of the rectangle. Good luck!
my homework question is The length of a rectangle is 3 m greater than the width. The perimeter is 38 m. What are the dimensions of the rectangle? im getting confused because on all the videos Theres for example 2 times the width but my question dosent have that

We use 2 times the width because that's the formula for perimeter of a rectangle. The equations we want to use are P = 2L + 2W and L = W + 3 - then substitute in W + 3 for L in the first equation.
The width of a rectangle is three- fourth of it's length. Find the dimensions of the rectangle if it's perimeter is 42 units . Please solve

Assume Length = L, Width = W = (3/4)*L; so, L+L+W+W = perimeter , or 2L + 2W = 42. then plug in L into W; 2L + 2(3/4)*L = 42 --> 3.5L = 42, -----> L = 42/3.5 ----> L = 12. If L = 12; W = (3/4)*L = (3/4)*12 = 9 Proof: 12+12+9+9 = 42 units

Mam pls help me solve this problem please, quadrilateral WISH is a rectangle,and its pperimeter is 112 centimeters,Side WI is 10 centimeters less than twice the other side,what is its dimension and how large its area?
@helpyourmath
2 жыл бұрын
There are a few variables given here: P=112; L=2W-10. We can use these to answer the questions. Since P=2W+2L, substitute L for the expression it is equivalent to (2W - 10) and solve for W. Then the area will be the product of L and W. Good luck!
Ok
Why did you +3 instead of -3? The length is 7

Hello! I added 3 because in the given statement it says "three more than" which implies we need to add 3.

@@helpyourmath no I watched the video to solve a similar question with the perimeter as 56m and length and width difference of 4m. I followed the video and did it on my own but I got the wrong answer
@helpyourmath
3 жыл бұрын
@@kieran3408 Hmm, based on that information, I would set up the equation as 56 = 2L + 2(L - 4) Though I don't know which was the smaller dimension... this would produce a longer length (switch L to W if the width is longer). Is this similar to what you did?
@kieran3408

@@helpyourmath yep! I got the answers correct actually, I'm just having a hard time doing them thru algebraic equation. (Btw, the width is the shorter one! "width 4m less than length"

how did you get sa 4w
Goddamnit I am so dumb 😅🥲
You lost me when you subtract 6 from both sides
@helpyourmath
2 ай бұрын
Once I plugged into the perimeter formula and simplified, I wanted to get w isolated. Subtracting 6 from both sides gets all constants (no variable) on one side of the equation and all variable terms on the other.
Thanks I cheated on my test
