Example 3.7.b How to simulate sandwich plates with 3D continuum shell elements in Abaqus
Ғылым және технология
Example 3.7 shows you how to simulate sandwich plates and shells. There are four videos. This is part B, done with one continuum shell element to represent the entire thickness, and a composite layup to describe the LSS. Additional details in the textbook "Finite Element Analysis of Composite Materials Using Abaqus." Multilingual CC available.

(*) Note that sum(relative thicknesses)=0.806. Divide each relative thickness by 0.806 to get (0.0347, 0.9305, 0.0347), which adds up to 1.0. Using these values, we get the same results. So, it is not necessary that the relative thicknesses add up to one, but it would be better if they do, to avoid confusion. To be updated in the Second Edition of the textbook.
