UPDATE: Carl and one of the China Roadsters will be at X Takeover in San Luis Obispo, CA on July 27-28. I’ll be there as well. Swing by and say hello! t.co/Yd1R8iCw45
I've been to Carl's Shop 4 times and you showed things I didn't even know about. This guy is so awesome!

🫡Thank You for Sharing this History with us Carl Randy and Austin. Looking forward to this Museum😉👏🙏🫶
One of your best videos yet! It makes you wonder why there is so much anti-Tesla BS when only Tesla could make this happen.

Because of Elon! He could care less that these Teslas even exist! If he did, Tesla would be supporting the effort to keep the roadster alive!
Thanks for the video. I take #613 in to Tesla every year for regular maintenance and it still runs great with no issues . Every time I take it the new employees always want to see it
To avoid import taxes, a few years back, many illegal imports took cars apart, ship them in different containers, different dates and put them together later. Vietnam & China were 2 well known destination. They even cut the chassis in half to avoid local enforcement's attention.
Well done Carl Medlock interview...Roadster owners are very fortunate Carl and his Sons dedicate their time and energy to preserve our amazing cars. They are truly a piece of history and without their support many more of them would have perished by now.
Remember a few years ago when all the Ford Expedition owner's were notified to park their cars outside? I do.
It’s fairly common for those containers to get opened for “inspection” and then left open over night as they will open certain containers in groups.
Kim, you outdid yourself on this one ! Truly awesome. I LOVE the story. Thanks !

As an early Roadster owner this video feels like looking at old family pics. Great job! Greetings from Spain
Fascinating. One of the best Tesla vids ever.

I saw one of those rare old Tesla Roadsters at the Safeway parking lot and talked with the owner briefly.
That's an award winning video there. Thank you. Hope Elon watches, though I doubt he ever looks backwards to improve his vision.

You guys really shouldn't show anything outside the garage if i stayed there i would probably be able to know the location.
Now THIS is what I call a "SCOOP!"
Great video… the service in the outtakes about the service are dead on. My new MYP with 900 miles has a completing broken passenger seat forced all the way forward. Nobody can ride in the seat. 6 weeks wait to get it looked at.
The best video I ever saw on the early days of Tesla and how Elon jump started the EV industry !
Anyone who has worked at a startup has done the "sleep on desks" thing. Or in my case, under.

Pretty amazing and alarming to see the electronics aging out. Very concerning thinking about all cars in the future. 12 years is really not that old.
Wow, masterpiece of info. Great video Kim Java!

Alabama Power / Southern Company owned 2 roadsters. They still have the red one and bring it out on occasion but their orange one was totaled. I’ve always wondered what happened to it. This was a really cool video!
SUPURB EPISODE! Carl is precisely correct about no Roadsters ever caught fire without dumb human assistance. When proper handling and technical processes are followed, these batteries are safe. Roadster battery associate, technician, trainer 2008-2024. We changed the world.
Honestly, I always say that Elon is a masterpiece at what he does though I would never want to work for him given how much I value my personal time. All the original Tesla founders like him are a gem and it’s just amazing to hear these stories and mysteries. Proudly made in the USA 🇺🇸

You can actually rent a Tesla roadster on Turo for roughly $200.00 a day.. it has 89,000 miles in one of the pictures..
This video tests if I’m a Tesla fanatic! Result: yes I am! Nice work!
This is one of the most interesting Tesla videos I've seen in a long time. The original Roadster no longer gets the online attention it deserves.
Gave me chills watching it.
Love this shop!
Wow that last few minutes brought me to tears! Without the hard work of these guys the whole industry wouldn’t exist!
This was not the video I was expecting. I thought he was going to talk about recent Teslas like the Models 3 and Y. Even so, I found it absolutely fascinating, and his enthusiasm is contagious.
This is very reminiscent of the Tucker automobile where everyone knows who has what vin.
Great interview! Getting details on the stories vs a tech interview - Congrats!
I agree with him , and I still say it to this day, electric vehicles wouldn’t exist if Elon never pushed it, especially if he never invested into Tesla , we would all still be driving gas vehicles talk about engines and gas prices. That’s something that so many e, especially Elon haters , forgot. Every EV being designed, developed, manufactured, and sold , is a direct answer to Elon’s challenge, especially when Tesla designed the Model S.
The blue roadster that he said burnt up in Florida, I think I have a photo of it. Not sure if it was the same blue one at the EV and tea event back in 2020. I hope it’s not the same one.
I bet the slow charging “european” charger was to prevent the battery from discharging too far… those batteries bricked if they went too low… only reason to trickle charge other than, it’s the only power you have. But with such low mileage, they obviously weren’t trying to go anywhere….
Now this was a bad ass video!!!! Thank you!!!

Absolutely incredible !!!
This is an exceptional video. Thank you, Kim.
Awesome video!!
the car park building at luton airport burned to the ground last year because of an electric car . Cost £20million
The white Roadster MUST be rebuilt! Wow, what a find!
This was the first view I've watched of yours, and it was amazing. the ending was moving.
Excellent episode!
"That car was charged somewhere in Europe". That adapter on the plug looks Swiss. German, French, Italian are different.
only capacitors age, almost all 50 year old electronics only need new capacitors
Great insights, thoroughly enjoyed watching, thank you.
Great interview, I could listen to this guy forever, such a great story teller.
What an interesting interview! Kim Java and team putting out some really good content!
Wow that was so informative, Thanks for make it for us.
Kim, OMG! What an AMAZING episode! Thank you for sharing this video and your personal experience with all of us. This definitely solidified my decision I made 5 years ago when I became part of the Tesla family!
Carl have the “Dallas” TV show cars? For me, and few million others…. We became Tesla fans, eventually customers, shareholders.
Awesome interview!!! Great guy. Thank you
AWESOME SHOW !!! THANK YOU !
Terrific interview thanks! ❤️
I heard that Tesla now puts a special coating on the wiring harness because rats would eat harness at the factory
Parts removed from the China Roadsters were likely for counterfeiting purposes. Bumper spares for crash vehicles at low cost.
Nice Porsche Speedster under the ramps. Obviously the Lotus based Teslas are wonderful too.
Very informative and good presentation by both host and guest. Thanks.
This is a fantastic video. That will for sure make it into my "top5 videos on electric cars june 2024" and it will be my top choice. This is fascinating and I loved every minute. The guy is a legend and you know how to ask the right questions. Does anyone know where the roadster is that Harvey Specter drove in Suits? That could also be quite a celebrity 🎉 If I had remotely the money, I would get a roadster as a fun car.
Excellent vid...best ever from this channel IMO.
thanks for sharing
Absolutely leave all the body damage or corrosion. That’s all characteristics of the vehicle and its legacy and history. We already know what it looks like new, we want to see it in its raw authentic self.
Kim - Great video! Now I'm bummed that I didn't visit this place when I lived in Seattle. 😢
Alsi, @Kim, great job!!!
Thank you for a great video. I think that the body parts came from a car that was originally shipped to England or Europe and that's where the Shuko charger comes from and possibly where the rodents got in.

Sad to hear about the compromise made with the whole "work-life-balance" thing; but, losing 40,000 shares to a thankless spouse not getting enough me-time kind of sucks.
This was really awesome. Thanks for the video!
I did see a wrap ( Not vulgar ) that surprisingly looked pretty cool !!
Wow . I saw wow a lot ! Thanks 💕
Wow KIM. SO COOL thanks for this video
What a treat. I could listed to these stories all day.
Enjoyed this vlog hugely tons of insight, and info ,
Outstanding !! Pure gold video !!!
The 10% rule was popularized by Welch? at Ge? he had a theory that it put pressure on those who remained behind. I see more than 10% of people in companies that have no clue what they are doing easily. The issue is to find them when even managers are in that pool (mostly)
Great comments. Will watch the vidio. Well worth watching. Thanks.
Those cars were dismantled for simple reasons. In china? what do you expect? reverse engineering. bingo. 2 cars were for some big guy and one was for reverse engineering. This guy is super smart. It shows the caliber of guys working/worked for Ellon.
Man, ...I bet that silver car smells like HALF of a limp tuna sandwich inside!
How cool is that!!
