What on earth is going on with Mr Russell? If he wanted to buy weights for the school, then he should’ve done just that and not created this mess of his own doing. His name was already tarnished professionally in the NFL and now in a personal capacity, his name is tarnished with allegations of theft. I truly hope he has an adequate explanation, because without one, being sued for theft is far worse than being labelled as an NFL bust. A criminal record regarding money, will impact his ability in obtaining loans, being appointed a company director etc, so I hope he can either produce the money to pay back or explain its whereabouts. One thing for sure, is the trust factor with him is now gone. In any court case, his finances will be called into question and it will expose him one way or another. If he’s short of a few dollars, then a defence attorney will use it as a mitigating factor, but if he’s loaded with millions, then he has no defence at all. Either way, Mr Russell is caught between a rock and a hard place, which could have been avoided, even stemming from his days as a player. Some people cannot make good decisions.
