Daniel Flesch is a fantastic extemporaneous speaker. Of course I realize this was a friendly interview, but that was a better presentation of the issues than I have yet seen from any of Israel’s official public relations/ spokespeople. His modulation and speech patterns don’t fall into the brash bellicosity that has characterized a lot of of Israel’s public communication covered in mainstream media. He pauses to explain with patience what I think most Israeli officials must (frustratedly? angrily?) feel should be self evident. As a result, he presents himself as deeply involved and still rational. He is not un-biased, he is of course invested and does not dissemble about that, but he is rational. I appreciated his stressing the absolutely unique military nuances of a campaign in Gaza. It is something I think most people don’t really grasp. Military operations in urban terrain are among the most complex tasks any military can be called to carry out. The political complexities in part stem from that. Great job to you both! Cheers!

The problem with Israel is that it doesn’t talk about those things it should tell the world about. Jews were thrown out of Arab countries and became refugees. Israel doesn’t ask for their being recognized as refugees who are qualified for aids as the Arabs are doing. Syria annexed Israeli Territory before Israel took the Golan Heights. But it’s only the Golan Heights that the world hears all the time. The Syrian annexation is never talked about. There are internal refugees in Israel but they are not in the narrative and no one talks about sending aids to them. It’s time Israel also highlighted these situations which the world ignores.

Daniel my friend I served in military in West Africa and founght in Liberia and Sierra Leone Civil wars. And know when to attack the enemy and when not to and when to retreat. International law is very specific in that you dont attack embassies, place of worship, schools, hospitals, etc, etc. But the jewish state and it leadership don't give about international law. I a political analysis and lawyer by profession and a Christian but no longer go to church on Sunday or Saturday
