After watching the whole drama and watching this scene again, I really saw the huge difference between the attitudes towards Yu Tu’s career choice between his ex and Jing Jing. The ex wanted him to continue with aeronautics so their relationship wasn’t wasted. Jing Jing wanted him to stay in it because she knew it was his dream and shouldn’t give up on it. Glad he picked the right girl 🥰

@@annaroseasis7440 Sorry to disagree but in my opinion he is also very selfish. He should not have got into relationship and become her boyfriend if he did not loved her or had feelings for her. He thought that she is very pretty, smart and intelligent so she will be very successful in future and he will show off her as gf infront of others to feel superior. It is so disgusting to use someone like this for all these years. If he was not male lead; everyone would have hated his this act. Xia Qing and Yu Tu both were selfish. But now that she broke up with him she should stop bothering him. When he saw that Jingjing is more successful now than his ex gf he used his practical mind and says that he is in love with Jingjing after creating some emotional drama so that he can have her for whole life and show off her to others to feel superior. In my opinion, he is very calculative and never thinks from his heart in this matter. It is like those stories when she had nothing he did not loved her and choose someone else and when she is rich and successful he falls in love. It is unbelievable.

And if jingjing not that successful would he love her or not. And after all I still wondered if he truly love her. I really don’t understand this kind of plots is really happened in real life. @@icephoenix1495 I think in real life we should not go back to someone who did not want you just because you were not perfect for him . This type of persons are opportunistic. If there was any other reasons I could understand but not this obviously. He did not chose her because she was not compatible for him back then. If she was not successful he would not even think about her again because what I felt that he is very calculative type of person and he wants someone successful and rich so that he can show off. So where is the love from heart?? It is like those stories where girl was rejected because she was not a match for the boy and the boy chose the most beautiful and popular, smart, rich lady for him. After some years when she is successful and rich he says that he has fallen in love with her and he was never had feelings for the other lady. It is like the other lady is just a joke for the boy now just because he is bored of her and he has used her enough. We should feel the pain of the other lady also. But here Xia Qing is also selfish I know but it is also so low of him to stay in relationship with Xia Qing for so long just for his own purpose. My question is that if you did not fall in love with her previous self then it means now only her success is the thing which is making you fall for her. Otherwise everything is as same as before with her.

I love this drama. This couple doesnt get swayed by their exes.

She thought of him more as a procession that she could put down and pick up when she wanted. She was right though when she said “I wasn’t worth it” if she’d looked back she would have seen that as soon as he turned around and walked away she was forgotten

Because she sees him as someone who “can” be what she want. She want him back because she can’t find someone else that is able to meet her expectations and provide her as she want. That’s why she said :as a woman she shouldn’t need to be this tired even though she makes big money. It’s disgusting that who ever wrote this episode build such a character. Because she is arrogant and somewhat self-centered, the way YuTu used to be in high school. Since that time, life has taught Yutu a valuable lesson. He struggles with his decision to pursue his dream of aerospace because it doesn't provide him with the means to adequately care for his parents. When he grows close to Jingjing, he realizes how she supports his dream but yet he struggles because he doesn't feel his dream is on her level, he doesn't feel good enough to be with her and so he rejects her for a second time.

That trope is so tiring to see. It's just prolonged second hand embarrassment.

To YuTu, the thought of getting married used to just be a stage in life. Two people spending the rest of their lives together, and sharing mundane responsibilities of Day to day life as they start a family. He never understood what love was, maybe it’s what his mother said, to find someone that could look after him, or at least, find someone he doesn’t need to look after. Maybe it’s what XiaQing said, he has no room for love in his heart, as he desired the stars and the galaxies above. It was all about him. Until he re-met QJJ and got to know her all over again. He never realised his heart could be aroused and softened to such a degree. Since falling in love with QJJ his goal in life became clear. Firstly to be with QJJ, and Secondly, to become her Glory. It was all about her.

Yutu is living the best of his life. He can make Qiao Jing Jing happy only by doing what makes him happy. Which is pursuing his dreams. I love that when they are already in a relationship, they are in each other's minds constantly, not as a distraction, but as an inspiration to become better for oneself and for their loved ones. And both are always giving full consideration for each other.

I get the ex though... some people may think that she is worldy but I think she is a realist- not all people who dream can realize their dreams especially if its no longer able to pay their bills. Its only romantic if you can afford it, it will become a burden sooner or later especially when you're the breadwinner of your family. When you choose a spouse, its natural to also check if he can give your family a good life - a roof on their heads, food, clothing, medical and dental needs, school & learning materials etc.

@@wndthomas thats because of her ego... its hard to let go of someone you love but reality hits you hard, love can't pay the bills... but she learns that he is ready to leave his dream so she wants him back and unfortunately learns that back then when they were together, he never loved her... if I was in her place, I would feel that he actually took my heart out and crashed it so hard.. good thing as proud and arrogant she is, she remained composed but then still said some not so nice words at the end, i guess she was really at the end of her emotions... i understand her totally... she is not entirely evil... the guy should not have any relationship with a woman he does not really love...

Your bills are only as much as you desire them to be. To explain this better, have you read “Stories of the Sahara?” - famous classic Chinese novel KeXi: Must you marry a Rich person? SanMao: If I didn’t love him, even if he was a millionaire, I would not marry him. But if I did love him, even if he was a billionaire, I would still marry him! KeXi: At the end of the day, you just want to marry a Rich Person. SanMao: There are exceptions KeXi: What if it were me? SanMao: Then I just need enough money to keep me well fed. KeXi: Do you eat a lot? SanMao: No, not much. Besides, I can eat even less in the future. I find QJJ’s character to more or less refLect SanMao’s. This is basically what QJJ meant when she was answering her bestie, if QJJ wasn’t rich and famous, would she still choose YuTu. To QJJ, it was never about money, whether YuTu was a millionaire, billionaire or just a working class man, she is her choice. And she never compared YuTu with her Ex. Tutu and his ex belong to different world. Tutu dreams of working for his dream, even couldn’t think about making more and more moneys like others for life. His ex changed jobs for more moneys to upgrade her life and proud, and she want Yutu to do same. She isn’t bad, because most people live as she does, but Yutu are different although he also feels confused about how to keep going on his dreams while he also might need more moneys to take care of his parents. Luckily Jingjing understands Yutu’s dream. Many many scientists in China earn less money than ones in USA or Europe states, so many of them give up while more are still keep going on, of course they should be respected. That is why Chinese scientists can start with nothing and make more things done faraway.

He is too courteous so meets her as an ex classmate, he now realises that QJJ is the one he has liked all along & getting to know her better as he hopes her to be in his life, he humours the ex one last time but she takes a dig at QJJ and slams him about riding the subway as below her dignity, then reminds him of her intent as a favour & warning yu tu just walks away ending this chapter of his life as QJ is his future now

I read all the comments, everyone has the right to a different opinion, I respect him, but I don't have to agree with him. I watched the play the first time with an English translation, the second time with the help of a self-translation in my mother tongue, and then I read the short story. They raise three basic questions: 1. Is Yu Tu selfish? What is selfishness or egoism! ???? .... Egoism is reckless taking care of oneself, one's needs and one's own benefit .... but comrade XQ says that the two of them are egocentric .... It's basically an espresso shot dilluted with water, some people can add cream for preference. I enjoy it since I love coffee, but for people who don't drink it, it may seem a bit too strong. But then again, I also drink straight up black coffee too so may tongue may be a bit biased.

I feel like Chinese industry modern drama are kind of boring. I’m not saying the actors are bad but somehow about the quality, their voices, and the storyline is boring and the fixing quality is not as good as it is. They got together because Xia Qing first confessed to Yutu during second year in college. During college, most of their peers already had gf/bf. So for Yutu, he thinks that Xia Qing is a smart and independent woman and would not demand anything for him. So he probably thought they were compatible as everyone would have thought they would. Smart boy and smart girl, who would have thought they aren't suitable for each other. But the problem lies in the difference of their worldly views. And the initial intention of being together. Xia Qing confessed to Yutu because she sees Yutu as a trophy boyfriend. Which will elevate her status in university and society. And in the novel, she spread out the gossip of them being together so that their classmates will acknowledge that she has won over qiao jing jing. Yutu's initial intention was, so he doesn't have to spend an effort to find a partner. So Xia Qing is a convenient choice. But finally he learned from his mistakes that to love needs effort. But Xia Qing didn't, she still looks at him as a trophy husband not as a love companion. So friends, find someone that will love you as you are and inspire you to become better. Not to be with someone that has expectations as how you should be.

She broke up with him, because he switched careers from finance to aerospace engineering which was his dream. And she basically used breaking up as a way to pressure him to go back, but he ended up agreeing to break up.

U need to know how the tv produced, c drama produced all together in once, then edit in many episodes, while K drama is filming at the same time on air, and based on review change the story line. According on those understanding, k drama need to make a lot twist and plots to keep the Audience attached and addicted, while c drama concern more about core value express and storyline intact. Plus, k drama is very mature and high standard same as American drama, While c drama just starting, The strength of c drama is the culture, esp those historical drama. Powered by the largest book/novel industry in the world… pretty much all new drama is made of well known book, so they don’t have to change too much. And already have some degree loyal audiences, including this drama. The weakness is culture as well, cos c drama main market is China, so lots of them very hard to watch without some basic Asian culture understanding…
