Ex-Cocaine Smuggler Breaks Down 8 Drug Smuggling Scenes in Movies and TV | How Real Is It? | Insider
Ойын-сауық
Ex-drug-trafficker Pieter Tritton rates eight trafficking scenes from movies and television for realism.
He discusses the accuracy of drug-trafficking methods depicted in "Narcos" S1E1 (2015), featuring Pedro Pascal; "American Made" (2017), starring Tom Cruise; and "Breaking Bad" S3E9 (2010), with Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, and Giancarlo Esposito. He also comments on drug-detection methods in "Blow" (2001), starring Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz; "Miss Bala" (2019), starring Gina Rodriguez; and "Sons of Anarchy" S4E7 (2011), with Charlie Hunnam and Ron Perlman. Tritton analyzes the human impact of drug smuggling in "Maria Full of Grace" (2004) and "El Chapo" S1E1 (2017).
Tritton began his journey as a small-time drug dealer in the UK, but eventually his operation supplied many major dealers in the UK. He then began importing cocaine from Ecuador to Europe through a cartel connection. Tritton was arrested in Ecuador and sentenced to 12 years in one of the world's most violent and corrupt prisons.
Tritton now works as a public speaker on the dangers of drugs.

Not really fair - he appreciated some aspects of most scenes but gave the general impression they were all either leaving something out, had too many people, or overglamorised it. Hence why would he give a 9 or 10/10.

It's also not just the people directly involved that are hurt. This can ruin the better part of a country. Having said that, the war on drugs makes every single thing worse. I call bullshit. Do you know how much fentanyl you have to take to overdose with a non-opioid familiar person? About 2mg, so a couple of grains of sugar. I was a police spokesperson for a while and I "covered" some drug trafficking operations between South(Central) America and Europe. As for the female smuggler: sending a petite woman for the first time, the cartel would do a mock test to check how the woman behaves with authorities, with perhaps ONE portion (condom) - and sometimes it could even be powdered sugar (!!). And two, some drug manufacturers would use Europeans, in other words the smuggler would be returning home with the drugs, which is more innocent than a South American solo traveler coming with them. I know of two Czech women (previously sentenced) who had "Venezuelan boyfriends there" and they would traffic drugs to Europe on their return journeys (of course, you are coming home), instead of Colombian women traveling alone to Europe for some reason, even "visiting sister".

In Antwerp harbour there was malware placed in the computer at the terminal. They could track and direct containers with coke to certain places to be loaded on trucks driven by the traffickers. High level stuff. One container was accidentally picked up by a normal driver. They shot with Ak47's to "convince" the driver to get off the truck. Don't know how long they did this, but being able to track and direct containers is highly lucrative

The only problem with "Los Pollos" UV star stamp scene would be that it wouldn't be stamped on the lids but the actual bucket. The lids can be switched if someone had I'll intentions.
@danlorett2184
Жыл бұрын
The lids they're putting on those buckets aren't normal bucket lids. They can only be easily removed if you remove the plastic tear strip on the bottom of the bucket lid. It may be possible to remove the lids without removing the tear strip if you heat the lid in boiling water to make it more pliable, but you would ruin the fry batter and it would be obvious that the bucket had be tampered with. Actually a pretty ingenious way of transporting drugs. Edit: also if they can get the bucket open to swap the lid, they can just as easily swap the bucket itself too. If you get one of those lids off without messing up the tear strip then it's trivial to put it back on a bucket because that's the way they are made to be used anyways.

Yeah, I really don't think he gave Breaking Bad much of a chance. Also, the meth was being produced in the US and distributed inside the country by a very renowned and beloved fast food chain, it's not the same level of suspicion that people working in the jungles of Columbia would face.

Later papers, from the Janssen group and others, indicate levamisole and its enantiomer, dexamisole, have some mood-elevating or antidepressant properties, although this was never a marketed use of the drug.[11][12]"
Blow was a great movie, I thought. That one with Tom Cruise was good too.
How that guy is alive, let alone cogent, is remarkable. Ten years in an *Ecuadorian prison*!!!!!!!!
