I am pretty sure we covered this in the video, but having control over your belt tension makes it easier to get the vehicle in and out of gear while shifting between P, N, R, H and L. Also, belt tension can be used as a tuning tool to correct issues with the shift pattern - especially in racing. The OEM setup is not adjustable in any way.
You keep saying this is a means to adjust the secondary. What will adding tension do to the rpms.

If you leave the adjuster all the way out, it will be like stock with a very tight belt. This usually results in the highest RPM when stabbing the pedal from a standstill. If you are trying to correct an RPM spike on takeoff, loosening the belt is one means to do this.
