I get that these were TV commercials, but man, the trailer for Breath of the Wild's release date reveal back when the Switch was revealed was definitely one of the best out there, it's a shame this video was focused more on TV spots rather than the specific trailers. THAT being said... it also gave us time to remember another Legend... It still hurts me to know that Robin Williams no longer shares this world with us. Celebrity spots are one thing in commercials, but Robin Williams was a true fan.

Fun fact the first Legend of zelda (1986) game created the saving feature for home consoles. It was revolutionary at the time since all other videogames at that time needed to be completed in one sitting since "saving" wasn't in option. Edit: forgot about password saving

As someone who only played LOZ: Twilight Princess for GameCube, I really have to try some of the games for my GameCube that still runs a bit to switch over to play the Wii games of Zelda 😄 also in Twilight Princess, the story goes insane with Link turning into a Wolf because of the effect of “Twilight” interacting with his powers within the storyline goes.

WOOP WOOP, I'M SO READY. The "scrooge" commercial was much more dramatic, but I guess it was cut down, and I didn't notice. Majora's Mask was a very dark game, it revolved around the theme of death. You have 72 hours to save a town being crushed by a falling moon. Twilight Princess is one that I recently played and fell in love with also another dark game both in theme and style. Hope you two get around to Breath of the Wild soon, I'm still waiting. About Robin Williams, I did see the Ocarina of Time 3D commercial back in like 2015 and saw that Robin Williams was a fan, and how I found out about his daughter Zelda as well. It still hurts to know that he is no longer with us, glad to know that one of my favorite franchises was also his. R.I.P. Robin Williams. Forgot to mention, Breath of the Wild was a launch title, so yes, it served as a Switch commercial more since the Switch was just releasing.

Not 100% sure, someone correct me if I'm wrong. Pretty sure the "The World will end" trailer for Majora's Mask was so haunting because either China or North Korea were testing missiles and Japan thought the world was actually going to end. Majora's Mask involves a land where the moon will fall in three days and destroy the world, a sort of parallel to the crisis they thought was gonna happen.

I would say if you only have a Switch the way to get into Zelda could be: Links Awakening: to see how a traditional “2d” Zelda works. Skyward Sword: more story focused and a basic introduction to 3D Zelda Breath of the Wild: the most drastic reinvention of Zelda with the open world that basically changes the whole game If anything you could skip Links Awakening but I feel like playing Skyward Sword then BotW is recommended since there a little bit of overlap and it’s a good starting point to the series. Obviously, we can also mention Ocarina of Time on Nintendo Switch Online if you want the most renowned Zelda.

It was an absolute joy to see Robin and Zelda 🥲 If you play ocarina of time and Majora’s mask, if you have access to an N64, I recommend that version. When they made the 3Ds version, which I believe is also the switch version, they updated some graphics and added new items. Imo and many other older players (not all of course), the original was better because of the low resolution. That sounds like an odd criticism, but because everything became cleaner and brighter in the updated version, it was less creepy and kind of took away from the experience. As kids, it truly was kinda creepy. My N64 still works and I hope it continues too along with my SNES. Also Majora’s mask requires the memory expansion to play it (again if that’s something you have access too).
