and of cours her story would be a lots darker..since we all know about her is that she is extremely cold hearted and very loyal to odin...how she became like that? will no one knows...

I always ask myself what is wrong with Square Enix.. they can't make Valkyrie Profile great again. We had VP, VP2, and that's it. Great RPGs. At least they don't use the name "Profile" anymore.

I remember randomly bought Valkyrie Profile when I was young, and this is one of the game that got me mindblow (after FF IX)

Valkyrie Profile Lenneth is one of my all time fave from Playstation. And just a random thought; Odin Sphere (PS2) is also one of my fave games, it would be amazing, in my opinion, to have Vanillaware to work on a Lenneth remake. Specifically the art aspect. Their styles are very different, but I think it could work. I think it would be beautiful with the old battle system. :)

Silmeria is just as good if not better, some of the original cast is in it and all the valks.

I see what you mean and I love vanillaware and odin sphere too. But VP1 had its own unique style, thanks to Ko and Yo Yoshinari. I love their character designs. Whoever did VP2 Char designs weren't near as good.

Covenant of the Plume was my first VP game, and I immediately fell in love. Easily my favorite DS game and I think it’s one if the most fun and engaging trpgs ever made.

Valkryie Anatomia 2:34. "wait is all Lenneth?" "It always has been"

I'll get this one time and see if we can finally get a true VP3:Hrist.

I'll just say it: Valkyrie Elysium is acquired taste... maybe at first it doesn't seem to have much, but if you look deeper this game has a lot of nuances to it that make it very much like the original Valkyrie Profile (even Lenneth's Japanese Voice Actress acts as Narrator here in the Japanese dub). Also, do NOT underestimate Valkyrie Difficulty... it has a Dark Souls nuance to it that makes it very challenging.

I liked Elysium a lot and never realized that for the narrator. I do agree it has flaws like the exploration and requirements to get your weapons/moves etc. Definitely a fun game than action games out there that are just pure button mashing. I do think some of the hate the game got is exaggerated imo

it kinda sucks when you get interested in a jrpg game so you go look for other entries in the series but there are either some 25 years old ps1 games and portable/mobile titles that nobody really played outside Japan, OR there are like 15 previous games you have to play to understand the plot of the latest release (the only game on the list you're actually interested in) and again most of them are 20+ years old and mobile and are like 150+ hrs long...

Ikr, (I'm looking at you KH) till this day I'm hoping for a third Lunar game it is so damn good in terms of story telling plus all of the characters are likeable even the antagonists. Nowadays Jrpg's are short for me in terms of gameplay length.

@@friednoodle6582 tbf, with KH, all the games are meant to be one continuous story connected together as opposed to other JRPG series where the games may have different different stories with different characters that aren't meant to be play in a particular order. It comes down to what someone personally likes. If you perfer a game series that doesn't have a continuous storyline with every game, you might be more fitted for something like final fantasy, persona, the legend of zelda, or the Atelier series.

@@ech0ashes i know that I'm just poking fun at KH the whole game franchise is honestly stupidly convoluted but i still love it to this day. I hope in future KH they don't bring Sora back he played with Fate to much for me to care anymore. I want the two Trios back if they have the chance. Specially Roxas, Axel and Shion those three have a special place in my Kingdom heart pun intended. Might as well replay KH 3 again for tears and giggles.

I think out of every JRPG series Valkyrie Profile is my favorite. Granted I only played VP Silmeria but I’ve watched a lot of VP Lenneth videos. No other game has such unique style and battle system. Those incantations as well, “May it be engraved upon your very soul. Divine Assault! NIBELUNG VALESTI!!!” It’s good they are re-releasing Lenneth so I can finally play it but I really want Silmeria!

we all need a remaster/remake of both, adding a Hrist title on top.

I'm praying that Elysium is just a hack-and-slash spinoff. I've already tons of go-to game franchises for my action adventure cravings. 😔 This game's combat looks like that of Tales of Arise's but your party of Einherjars seems reduced to summons.

ahhh yes... i remember while playing anatomia, a rumour coming from SQ insider that they making a valkyrie game, i feel so motivated to the point i spend more money than i should for the game.... years later the the 'valkyrie' game did come out.... and with it, my disappointment, say what you will about the mobile game at least i do feel like playing VP game and most importantly I GET HRIST

0:58 because Okami took the spotlight. YT was barely there. Had this game been released just one year after it would've become popular af. Bad timing.

Why even revive a series if the gameplay is going to be completely different? Might as well give it a new name at that point

ugh...they turned it into yet another action game with Elysium....the battle system was at least consistent thru the other games (even the garbage mobile one). They effectively gutted the part of the core of the Valkryie series now. Just another Squeenix action rpg with pretty graphix... yawn..

@@NoctLightCloud Yeah, just replace the pressing of buttons to attack to tapping the screen with a character portrait is pretty much what most mobile tbrpgs are. VP2 still looks amazing though.

The first Valkyrie Profile is by far the best one, that game is a PS1 masterpiece and every JRPG fan should play! Sadly after VP2 this franchise went downbad and the latest game doesn't catches your eye, seems generic and even graphically bad

well all in all elysium seems not a sequel of VP.. it's a standalone game with diff publisher company n everything.. correct me if i'm wrong.. because if it is a direct sequel/ if it is a sequel in any way i might play it.. idc arpg/turn based.. but i do feel VP battle is unique enough and good already as it is.. and like some stated.. there's already so many arpg hack n slash already that er... at least just seeing from the review here.. i don't see anything grand.. maybe just ok? anyway... one thing i hate the most is someone ruining VP.. welp nvm what i said.. i'll just move on.. already so old so nostalgic.. i'll just move on

@@deibu__ I don't think that's the problem bro. The game had much more potential and what we can see from the trailer really feels like a very low budget project. So it sort of hurts seeing Sq-Ex mistreating one of its very cool brands so coldly. My impression though, if you like it I won't blame you for 😊

I remember buying VP and the guide on release day. It was a good day. Took a while to figure out all the mechanics. VP1 is still, by far, the best in the series. VP2 was disappointing. The voices arent near as good or memorable as VP1s. Alicia is boring. I hate how she so quickly says "nibalung valesti!" Arngrims new voice sucked. Maddie Blaustein FTW. RIP Maddie.

The last one looks like a very poor game

lumping Elysium together with the profile games is such an insult lol. and I dont recall any Norse mythology figures being of african origin if you notice who's behind that black valkyrie mask. Stop indoctrinating multi culture into myth specific games. so sick of it. Im glad I spotted what I dislike early. almost waste $75 for that crap.

The sad evolution of game quality going down in order to hire unqualified people with agendas like Sam maggs to ruin an i.p. love seeing not only the game franchise pervaded by forced African inclusion but they go so far as to race swap a pre-made character that has existed and attempt to change a entire races folklore/"history" in order to try to convince a few black kids to buy the game.
