The original NSX, introduced in production form in 1990 by Honda and to the United States market under the Acura brand in 1991. It was of the most exciting sports cars of the 1990's, and it was the first sports car to have an entirely aluminum body, making it 200kg lighter than a steel body. The car additionally boasted the world's 1st production car engine with titanium connecting rods. And the car's chassis rigidity and cornering/handling capabilities were the results of Ayrton Senna's consultation with NSX's chief engineers.
At the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, the production variant of the 2nd gen Honda NSX concept was unveiled, But the car would not be on sale until a year later. Mechanically, the second generation NSX represents a significant departure from the first generation since it features a twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 engine , mated to a three electric motor Sport Hybrid SH-AWD system and a 9-speed dual-clutch transmission. The total output is 573 hp. The 2016 NSX accelerates from 0 to 60 mph 62 mph in 2.9 seconds, and has a top speed of 191 mph. Structurally, the body utilizes a space frame design, which is made from aluminum, ultra-high strength steel, and other rigid and lightweight materials, some of which are the world’s first applications.

FUN FACT: when making the mclaren F1 gordon murray went to honda to supply the f1 engine,because he had an NSX and was so amazed by the car, but unfortunaly honda declined so he went to BMW

@@x-90 actually nah, honda didn't make any super powerful engines, other than for their F1 cars, BMW made V12, V10, V8, and a lot of different engines, I think that was a great decision

Surprisingly the new NSX is not selling that well. Perhaps Acura got carried away. I suspect a non hybrid rear wheel drive ,less expensive car may have sold better.

first model (NA1) started from 90's era...after that new mellineum year 00's came by NA2 model started from 2002 to 2005... then from time to time awaits, comeback to latest model (NC1) since 2016 till present... i think its probably 11 years gap the NSX launched back to new model that looks modern and fast supercar as well... not so longer to wait new model like 15 or 20 years gap some of people mentioned before...👍😎

I think one problem with the new NSX is that it's complex, much more so than its predecessor which was just a relatively simple midship platform sports car. It's not a bad car, far from it. Just that it being called an NSX (even though it stands for New Sportscar eXperience compared to New Sportscar eXperiment of its predecessor) gave it that sort of expectation. Which probably didn't help
