The Sandman (William Baker, a.k.a Flint Marko) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. A shapeshifter endowed through an accident with the ability to turn himself into sand, he began as a villain and later became an ally of Spider-Man. The Sandman has the ability to transform his body. He can will his body to be hardened, compacted, dispersed or shaped, or a combination of those qualities, an Earth manipulation of sand and rock particles. More often than not in combat, this ability enables him to absorb most blows with little to no ill effect other than reforming himself, a relatively fast action. His striped shirt and cargo pants are colored sand to make him appear as if he wears clothes. Even when soaked, he was able to stretch his sand molecules, growing to double his size.

As you can see the sandman versions steadily start declining after Spider-Man 3 creates the perfect sandman you can’t say sandman isn’t good in Spider-Man 3 he is the best villain in the film

@@daseanharris9280 Actually, the Sandman has fought the Hulk on a handful of occasions, and has even fought the Fantastic Four when serving as a member of the "Frightful Four", but he's most definitely primarily Spider-Man's enemy.

Sandmans punch to Spider-Man's face in the beginning will forever be iconic....its funny that my first time seeing Sandman was with the Amazing Friends... I never seen the 60s Sandman until I seen it here on KZread... I always wondered why they replaced Sandman with Hydro-man back in 94... I didn't like that.....oh and he said to the Thing do you want to go for a spin Ugly..lol... Now I gotta find that episode...never knew Sandman had a run in with the FF....which reminds me I was looking for that FF 70s series years ago but nobody uploaded it... I hope it's up now

I like that version too because in ultimate spider man, flint activity tries to change his ways and succeeded. he became so trustworthy, that he was on a first name basis with his previous enimies and was even invited to participate in sports games. I like that they took that route with sandman. one of the few villians who actually took spider man up on his offer for a second chance.
They really made the guy who just wanted to do good for his daughter and help children have the supervillain daughter… oh my gosh that is bad

I love how they know are immortal to each other. But the damage is mental to them, the daughter hates sandman to the point where if they were human she would want him dead. (Hense why he doesn't just dodge or regenerate back to skin form) But the story other than the direction is terrible

Everything involving Spider-Man and Animation peaked with Spectacular Spider-Man
Comic Fact: Sandman used to be on Teams like Wizard's Frightful Four, Doctor Octopus's Sinister Six, Silver Sable's Wildpack, Even the Avengers.
Spectacular and spiderman 3 are my favorites

Why would you consider it weird when you knew technology was close to zero back then..... Don't get me wrong... I thought the Spider-Man and The Avengers cartoons I was watching as a kid in the 70s I thought it was the hottest schitt period.....but the Transformers/G.I.Joe and other Hasbro cartoons took it to another level.....but 25+ years later watching the 60s/70s cartoons here on KZread I was like dam.. I use to like this?....then I had to think well they didn't have the tools and technology to make their visuals good at that time but it's all about the improvements at the time and better as years to come

That’s probably just because you weren’t around to watch them at the time they came out. People in the 60’s and 70’s probably thought it was the coolest thing ever. I bet people decades from now will be criticizing a lot of the modern day animated tv shows as well. Technology improves as time goes on.

In Spectacular Spider-Man Peter beats Flint Marco differently each time. Flint getting super heated to glass ( all though a fake out) was seen as death/ last resort. In all the Disney media it's the 1st and usually the only way they stop him. It makes his appearances more predictable and boring. Especially in the Disney marvel shows with their cheap animation and lousy writing.

Yeah, because of the movie that James Cameron (Terminator, Titanic, Avatar) was going to make of Spidey that would have feature Electro and Sandman as the villains but drastic versions, Electro was going to be a Donald Trump-esque millionarie and Sandman was going to be his bodyguard, is that those two villains never featured on the 90s cartoons (now a different take on Electro did appeared on a later season of the cartoon).
0:13 this proves two things: 1. The budget for the 60’s were very low. 2. Spiderman has no spider sense

Id like to keep thinking that the modern "attempt" of "sandman" never existed. Gosh.... It's like every iteration of sandman got worse after Spider-Man 3... A heartfelt character who just wanted the best for his child yet choosing to be a villain because he thought he had basically no other choice.... And they turn the character into a bratty teen. I barely watch that wreck of a Spider-Man show but even if that character had any sort of motive, there would still be no point to watch dumpster fire of a show in the first place because most of the villains they redeemed just either become useless or die in the next episode or something

I don't get how you can watch the video and not realize that. XD Granted, I also don't like that spiderman show, but I actually thought his daughter becoming the next sandman was actually a fairly cool idea.
