2013/2014 legacy Rust was so much fun. Just running around with friends and getting into fights zombies, bears, and players was great. I haven't really played it since then. It definitely looks likes its added a lot.

I first played rust practically when it originally released in 2014. Before not able to build on roads, little to no types of comps, zombies were in game and a good base was considered a standard stone 2x2. Especially remember when the animals looked heavily mutated and they HEAVILY wanted to give stalker like vibes and everything gave you rads.

Under the rust community you will ALWAYS hear about its legacy version time. Graphics were decent for 2013 and especially good for toaster pc players like myself back then. Gunfights were super action packed with the famous phrase „high ground“ coming for the first time in my gaming life. Charging for the airdrops where you knew EVERYONE would run to. It was just such a sick experience man. What I absolutely love to remember about it especially was this sick radiation noise giving you anxiety while bears were actual threats. The dark brown walls which you crafted your first shelter with. The first axe you looted wood with etc. LEGENDARY.

man legacy rust was wild.. random spray patterns so all fights were tap firing.. the INSANE amount of greifing that went on since there was no build privs.. so dudes with a rock would just hop on the server .. knock down a few trees and greif bases by putting barricades in front of their door. this is what started the meta where people would build a tower base with a 3x3 on top and have the whole surrounding area be spikes since they had more HP similar to a modern armored wall. also people were FAR more social and often neighbors would look out for each other and basically in game chat was used far more commonly. always nice to run around your "neighborhood" checking up on people. it truly gave a sense of community. i like modern rust far more now.. but legacy has many great memories for me

Man... I playied Rust in its first release. When we were more afraid of the zombies than the other players! hahahahah. We had shelters that we could build at the top of the rocks. After that they removed the zombies and added the red animals that were stronger than the normal other aninals. Rust that a really great evolution during the years. Greate video!

In the very first iteration of Rust, there was nothing more frightening than night.. you'd be in a little hut with a fire and just terrified.. its pretty amazing to see how far the game has come from those days.

goddamn man, rust legacy was the first time i felt like i actually "murdered" someone. for context i was scared shitless, it was nighttime and im hacking away at a wood pile. random kid shows up and says hi. my first response. "get out of here i will fuckin kill you" *lag delay* so i went in and as i killed him he was saying sorry and to not do it. i still feel kinda bad about it but hey, thats the name of the game baby.

I played Rust in the week it launched but unfortunately my pc wasn't the greatest back then and could just barely handle it. It also didn't help that the servers were unstable and disconnections and lag were rampant. About a month later I upgraded my pc and was able to run it better. It was a magical time killing zombies for blueprints.

Forgot to mention the fact rust had an EXP system at some stage where you'd have to earn Experience to get blueprints rather than research them, Also you either before or after then there was another update that implemented "research paper" which acted similarly to scrap in the sense that once you got enough of said research paper you would be able to research an item of your choosing... certain items requiring more research paper so on so forth. Cool video tho! :D
