Fun fact: the Wii remote was meant to be an new controller for the GameCube, and Nintendo even made a prototype of it with wired connection to the console, but later they pushed it to be launched with the Wii since the GC didn't sell that well.

The Wii and the Wii U in my opinion merged in a way to form the switch -motion controls -two ways to play - a pro controller -and joy-cons look like wii remotes and the console looks like a Wii U gamepad

@moon i agree, it was perfect for the time, it was essenrtially a snes controller on steroids, it keeps the old shape but with the extra 3 grips and the analog stick.

You can customize them yourself. I changed my joycons to indigo to match my Gamecube controller. It's very easy and only takes like half an hour to complete. I would definitely recommend to do it if you want colors that aren't available through Nintendo. Edit: You can also change the backplate which takes less than 5 minutes, I did that as well.

I don't understand why everyone dogs on the N64 controller. (I grew up with the Wii, no childhood bias) I own and play the N64, and it's fine. Pretty comfortable for 3D and 2D games.

The next controller from Nintendo should have the A, B, C, X, Y, and Z buttons on the left side. The analogs should be on the right side. The triggers should have force sensitivity, and it should have a guide button which is either the Super Mario symbol, or the Nintendo logo.

Don’t you just love the fact that they put Mario bros (1983) when the background was super Mario bros (1985)

I just noticed how similar the n64 and GameCube controller are through this video. The GameCube is the same thing but without the 3rd handle and they placed the analog sticks in the right place and changed the button layout but really and truly they’re the same design.

You can add a small touchscreen to the joy-cons and a bigger to the pro-controller

I remembered when the Wii U become a flop for Nintendo since they tried to improve skills and power of their consoles, but at least the Switch has the first hybrid console since it has two Joy-Cons and also can be used as an handheld for sleeping, going out or even in the toilet.
