@@m.m.2897 he gets represented with Ness in the Mother 1 spirits battles o3o the thing is Ninten most likely looks exactly like Ness when you update him in modern 3D graphics. Most of the differences in the designs are all fan made. A lot of the supposed official differences are actually contradicted in alternative clay art of the characters. The consistent differences are the have different color socks/shoes and Ninten isn't shown with a backpack. I can see maybe one day they make him a alt in the same vein as Alph. chrom had a bunch of fans online that got him his own slot, Ninten is just too niche.

It bothers me so much too, but I think it's just meant to be a graphical thing? Ness's earthbound sprite is more detailed than the mario maker one, so they put it second, then you move into the 3D models. From an aesthetic standpoint it doesn’t bother me but from a timeline standpoint.... eughh

Mainly because Earthbound wasn't sell that well back then and the F-Zero series (while fun) is extremely overlooked by Nintendo. Plus, the Smash Bros. series pretty much helps establishes Captain Falcon's personality more.

Idk when I heard Ness do his final smash in SSB4. I heard him say “whERes MY FOOOOOOOOD!!!!!”

Ness Knows How To Home-Run

Both Lucas and Ness have appeared in more Smash Bros games than there are Mother games, Mother 3 has been a Japan exclusive for nearly 13 years despite the outcry for it in the west, Ninten has never had an official 3D model before...It's like Nintendo _wants_ to forget Mother/Earthbound exists. At least Sakurai acknowledges it.

I really want the original Mother 1 and 2 video game of the Earthbound franchise to be remastered in high hd quality for Mother 3, like whenever Nintendo would like to announce it :)

In Smash 64 I thought he was saying "PK HAMMER!" instead of "PK THUNDER". When it hit an opponent, it would make a "thud" sound which kind of reinforced that belief.
