For those who're saying "missing what shows", the video missed A LOT of classic mecha shows, especially in 1990s to 2000s. So there're just a lot more mecha anime than you all know.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is absolutely my top 1 anime of all time, heck it's even my favorite in any media that i have ever consumed. Not because something like it has the best plot ever, but just how much impact it gave me. Literally helped me going through depression. The characters, OSTs, fluid animation that brought so many potentials, ridiculous power system that kicks logic to the curb, and especially the quotes that always go so hard! It is the epitome of hype, embodiment of indomitable human spirit, and needless to say, peak fiction. And no i'm not exaggerating, that's just how much impact Gurren Lagann gave me. I really hope someday Nick going to watch this masterpiece.

Gridman and Bravern are both excellent! so is Witch From Mercury, but anyone would tell you that. Bravern especially does not at all hint at just how crazy that anime gets from an outside perspective... there's like, one big plot twist in that thing that takes it from already insane, to NEXT LEVEL.

Idk, Witch feels kinda meh if you compare it to many other Gundam series, it's an ok show in the vacuum, but when you think of the bigger franchise you can't rate it to high.

@@ivansolodyankin6820 oh, probably... but that actually makes it a great way to get people introduced to the franchise. it's a solidly good show, and presents well enough to convince people that pursuing more is worth it, but there's still upward to go from there.

SSSS Gridman is based on live action show from the 90s. SSSS is from the American version, Super Human Samurai Syber Squad. Eir Aoi sings Innocence and Ignite. The second opening theme for Sword Art Online and the first opening theme for Sword Art Online II.

No Escaflown, No GD Wings, No GD 00, what a shame.

Because 2002 was the same year as Gundam SEED, and (except for 2004 for some reason) they only do one per year. RahXephon's OP is god-tier, though.

The singer of Macross Frontier Op 1 was the voice actor of Tamayo, the one that stab Muzan stomach in the last ep of DS S4 XD

Genesis of Aquarion is my first mecha anime and it was frickin' have sad ending. I still haven't recovered the damage it gave me.

I can't help feeling a little bad that Bubuki Buranki wasn't included, but at the same time, there are a TON of mecha anime that Japan has made throughout the years

Really didn't expect to enjoy BBRK as much as I did. Decent CGI animation too

Personally, I would like to add "Mobile Battleship Nadesico" to the list of recommendations. It's an anime series from around the 00's, but it's a must-see if you want to see great animation, as Japanese animation during this period was in transition from celluloid to CG.

The English title is Martian Successor Nadesico, and it's in the video at 1996. No mention of Gekigangar III though. (Original anime run was 1996-1997 with the movie in 1998.)

I'm a little disappointed that they didn't include "Science Ninja Team Gatchaman". They didn't fight in robots but they killed a lot of monster robots. Hmmm...there are a LOT of mecha shows that are missing here. I was about to say that maybe they skipped the OVAs but "Gunbuster" is an OVA. PS: If I could have a Japanese surname I'd want "Anno".

Yeah, I wish I included Gatchaman, that was my bad. I wanted to avoid OVAs, but I knew if I didn't include Gunbuster, people would be angry. Little did I know, there'd be plenty of other series people would want anyway lol

Turn A Gundam" is a unique work in both Gundam and robot animation, and although it is difficult to understand, it provides an answer to the question of Gundam and a correct answer to the question of robot animation.

Gurren Lagaan was one of my first when I started anime no-lifing at like, 13-14 and holy shit...it's still a favorite to this day, 15 years later.

Some of the mecha shows are not just mecha too, Magic Knight Rayearth being old school isekai, while Knight's & Magic is newer isekai. No Macross Plus, Macross Zero, Macross 7, and it's also missing Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventures. (Among many other shows that other people have mentioned, like the classic anime The Vision of Escaflowne.)

Gurren lagann is definitly one of ly favorite of all time. Maybe even my top 1. And i always wanted you to react to it

12:35, ah gundam seed, definitely one of the best out there. I would definitely check out the other openings as well as its sequel gundam seed destiny. A lot of banger opening songs

80s mech anime had the best songs. Macross, Zeta Gundam, Gundam Double Zeta, Heavy Metal L-Gaim, and Metal Armor Dragonar. I found the Matchless Raijin-Oh soundtrack while looking for Megumi Hayashibara songs on Itunes.

The SSSS series originates from a Tokusatsu show (Ultraman, Godzilla, SuperSentai, KamenRider, and such) from the 90s. The Gridman Anime is a loose sequel to the OG Toku show with some references to the OG kaijus here and there, and the Dynazenon Anime is set in different universe where they fight with Dynazenon (a friend of Gridman from the Toku show) instead of Gridman.

Oh nice! Genesis of Aquarion is in here! Been hoping you'd react to its OP/ED a while back. The 1st 2 seasons aren't really that bad. What I will say, is that the songs absolutely slap. The song "Genesis of Aquarion" (the a capella version) by AKINO from bless4 might just be my no. 1 favourite anime song of all time. Really hyped for its upcoming season, Myth of Emotions & hoping it goes back to its roots & not give us another Logos.
