The thing that scares me but also what I love about ttyd is the implications of the shadow queen possessing peach. Think about it. Peach is literally CANONICALLY a star child as proven by her close link to the star people. Now imagine if Mario lost.....yeah....it's flipping terrifying.

Is her being a "Star Child" really canon? That Yoshi game doesn't really line up with a lot of established things considering that can't be the actual DK since Mario as an adult when he fought the original Donkey Kong (Cranky Kong). Wario being in that game doesn't make much sense either

Plus you fight him two times in the game. I meant like fighting and antagonizing wise and he did not of that to Mario in TOK

Paper Mario will be 20 years old in August. it's gonna feel weird when Mario and Luigi turn 20. Despite the series no longer beinga rpg I still enjoy most of the modern games. My favorite final bosses are the Shadow Queen, Black Bowser and Super Dimentio.

yea i like black bowser too way more than super dimentio and shadow queen and i personally really like the puzzle based aspect for the rpg it keeps things actually really interesting and challenging compared to the normal lamer rpg style which was pathetically easy until the final boss fights but that’s just my opinion keep up the good work my friends

Maybe the Origami King was made to celebrate the 20th anniversary.

King olly’s final final phase is the best out of any paper mario bosses. It’s quite easy when you see what you gotta do but the amount of QTE’S make up for it. They’re all so satisfying to watch and with the epic theme playing in the background it makes you believe your in a threatening situation.

I'm not hating on you but seriously, Dimentios fight is way more dire and has bigger risks and the worst outcome if you lose.

Personally Super Dimentio and Count Bleck are the best final bosses. The first reason is how much depth and story they have. The second is because of hpw original the fight is. Best paper mario game for me.

Some stories have heartbroken villains with tragic backstories. Others have psychopathic villains who are evil just because it's fun to them. Super Paper Mario has both. That's why I love it so much.

Shadow Queen is my favorite final boss

Fun fact : in the whole paper mario series, Bowser has never been the main antagonist except in Paper mario 1. Either it was another antagonist or Bowser was controled by something.

As a man who very much loves Origami King, I can say that the game's final boss is the best in terms of keeping the player engaged at all times. Is it easy? Yeah. Is Olly's reason for being the bad guy kinda dumb? For sure. BUT, I can say that fighting him is amazing and the production value of his boss fight is off the charts! As for the boss that felt like a legitimate threat in terms of the story, I'd give it to Bowser in the first ever Paper Mario game. Sure the Shadow Queen was end-of-the-world threatening, but she kinda just popped out by the end of the game. Bowser in the first Paper Mario game though? A consistent threat from beginning until the end; a few dumb and funny moments here and there but he was always cookin up something evil to prevent Mario from doing anything. Plus, the atmosphere of his boss fight just screamed "THIS IS WHAT COLLECTING ALL THOSE GOD DAMN STAR SPIRITS HAS BEEN LEADING UP TO" One last thing...were the cutscenes for the final boss fight of Super Paper Mario always that long? Cause it felt like it was more of that than actual fighting.

Well I wouldn’t say Olly’s reason to be evil was dumb. It’s like an emotional impact on that scribble as if it were a real scar. I see it as if he was actually literally scarred by the person who was supposed to make him the way he was meant to be. He feels like the mark makes him imperfect and he wants the toads to feel his pain. When the battle ends he feels guilty for letting that mark go to his head. There’s always a reason for someone’s anger.

@@MSDKZfangirl2490 This is so deep in an other perspective. In the art of the origami, the purest origami crafts are only made with paper. With no glue, no scissor, or PENCILS. The Toad who create Olly didnt actually follow this rules on his origami creations, cause in the game explained he use most of this materials for his crafts. And when create Olly with the paper that has the message, Olly didnt see the message as something good, he saw as some kind of big neglect by his creator. Making Olly impure. So when Olly created Olivia, he enssured that her sister had the purity that he will never had. But thing purity firebacked. Making Olivia not helping his brother, because the same purity in her not only make her the innocent, cute and lovable character that we loved. It make her see that the action of his brother were just wrong and awful . That "scribble" make Olly felt huge hate and rage for himself, and letting this feeling not only take the best of him, but hurting others who even didnt deserve. And with the betrayed of his own sister, plus if we think his kinda of a teenager (and remember that teenagers are people that arent so emotionally stable and he is probably an emo type). Make him to make awful decisions, becaming worse than the last one. When Olivia talked about love, just became worst indirectly, because he was unable to love himself because of that scar of impurity. And we know Olly did awful and unforgivable things (you know what I mean) . all this shit happen was because of a misunderstending. This so sad, because this show how love can make more hurt than good. Of how love can be misunderstand as negligence and later becoming hate. I hope this would clarify on Olly's villian motive. Post-data Something else that we learn is NEVER PLAYED AS GOD.

Paper Jam was my FIRST Mario & Luigi / Paper Mario game. I barely knew anything about either series when I got the game. Heck, I didn’t really even know anything about Mario. I legitimately thought that Paper Mario was a character who had been invented FOR Paper Jam. Thinking back, it really was a bad first game. Thank God I learned more about the games in both series, it really changed my view on the franchise as a whole.

When I look at The Thousand Year Door, This game is awesome Along with Super Paper Mario And Origami King.

I'm slightly surprised Paper Jam even counts as a paper mario game lol, cause it's a crossover but it's still essentially a Mario and Luigi game with paper elements. But paper mario is one of the main characters, so I guess it makes sense.

I just realised how old all of the games like this actually are...

For the last time.. *COLOR SPLASH ISN’T A BAD GAME!!111!1!11!!* The whole system might be pretty stressful about how even cards work, but it’s still genuinely a fun game and everything else, it doesn’t deserve the heat it gets, and it would be amazing if it did get a remake on the switch. I know that might sound pretty off-topic, but the game is really good and it’s really should get more attention again.

Paper Jam's final boss is really difficult if far easier than the previous game's one, but there's this interesting glitch you can use to just instantly win the fight and skip the boss' second phase.

I can't tell you how many times I died during the Shadow Queen boss, then having to repeat the dialogue over and over and over..and OVER again!

You must have loved it as having the option to rightfully bow down to your queen is better than defying her.

I don't think anyone talked about this yet but, anyone notice Shadow Peach's theme during the Bowser transformation(for "Mario & Luigi : Paper Jam")?

I honestly just love how Mario & Luigi PJ is more based on skill rather than luck or a press of a button.

This video just goes to show how hard it actually is to consistently get excellents in color splash it’s really, really hard

I love how people complained about fighting bowser so much that we got the first mario rpg where you never fight bowser once.

Super Paper Mario was the best game ever 😩 I wore it out so much as a kid, I had 3 copies... and if they rereleased it for Nintendo Switch, I'd buy it all over again!

1:01:53 Don't know why you didn't used the original audio for the final battle in Paper Jam, 1:05:49 and I don't remember that music playing for when the two Bowsers fused together.

Weird how there are only three games in the series with final bosses (TTYD, SPM, and TOK) that don't have Bowser as THE final boss you face. And even TTYD and SPM are technically you fighting Peach and Luigi.

I like the bosses of PM2 and PMTOK most.

the feeling you get when watching/playing paper mario 64 then you switch over to TTYD right after at 12:41 you can feel and see the change of graphics and animation designs when you switch over to TTYD from Paper 64 and i know cause back when i had my 64 few years ago i took a break from playing Paper 64 and decided to play TTYD

My top the best of worst. 1) Shadow Queen 2) Bowser N64 3) Súper Dimentio 4) Origami King Olly. 5) Bowser (Color Splash) 6) Bowser (Sticker Star)

Dimentio *is* implied to have written the Dark Prognositcus . . . .If he's the shadow queen reincarnated that'd explain him knowing Marios Power and that the group exists

@triplebluethreat6823 imagine there's a paper mario game involving time travel at one point where an "ally" of info would make mario and his companions to recollect all 7 star sprites, with the star rod, the stars that open to the 1000 year door, chaos heart & pure hearts, along with all sticker crowns that were parts of the sticker star comet, all paint stars & black paint, while finally the corpse of king oily which was refolded into an crane origami that you give to said "ally" to make a wish with the star sprites and the star rod only for that "ally" to to wish for omnipotence, absorbing EVERYTHING you've recollected along the way to actually become THE TOP GOD of all of creation itself as a whole and simply requests mario to be the first to knell before him/her/them 😳

"Paper Mario: the Eraser Emperor" Could be a good idea

I hope the next set of paper mario games expand on origami kings battling system. It hardly needs tweaking, it just needs maybe to nerf mario’s attacks a bit and buff enemies healths so you don’t 1 hot KO them. Also the variety of enemies in game is good but it would be even better if we saw more. Like where are those boxing looking ghosts for example.

His badge load out for Paper Mario 64 is atrocious (not to mention completely impossible) 3 HP pluses (9) 3 FP pluses (9) (18) Ice Power (2) (20) Flower Saver (6) (26) Peekaboo (3) (29) Mega Smash (3) (32) Damage Dodge (3) (35) And for some reason his base hammer attack does +3 damage

I have found that Sticker Star’s final boss is better if you replace its music with Olly’s music.
