The deceleration alone is only a mere -2.5 g, going from 99kmh to 50 in 30 frames, which would be 1 second as it's 30fps video. However, the car starts to turn 90° at 99kmh, though straightening out at 83kmh. The peak G forces, from the 99kmh turn according to my calculations.... is around 160 g. A 75 g sudden impact will highly likely kill a man. Now at 160 g, you can't die twice... but you can be turned into soup.

@@Moerfel fair enough, but I remember seeing the animation when I used to play the game and they would finish refuling, wait for about a second and to then release you. This really annoyed me, and in the video he has not got fuel usage on. What I am trying to say is that as soon as the put crew are done, refuling ect, the game will keep you in the pits for a good second or more and then release you.

I'm still playing F1 2009 nowadays with my old Wii and I confirm that even with the refuel animation you're stuck in the pit for 2-3 extra seconds for no reason.

The day they fix the hard turn is the day PewDiePie will play GOW again.

Laurin Hill that’s because the entry animation doesn’t change when there are other cars in boxes right next to them. If the steering was smoother and they moved into the boxes less steeper, then if there was a car in the box right next to theirs they would crash. So they just use the same entry so that won’t happen

Plus, the AI in hard mode is just too easy to beat. I mean, I got pole with Alonso easily thanks to KERS advantage, and in race, I was able to extend the lead over time over the likes of Button and Vettel.

For a game made in 2009 it’s pretty detailed for the pit stop, maybe they could’ve put more work onto adding people actually changing the front wing but overall it’s pretty good

Intel Mate, I know that it is difficult I’ve worked on game design before, but my point is that they have done it well in the past, so why the huge step backwards? And then there’s the fact it is a racing game; they’ve done all the work to make the driving realistic, surely a cutscene animation would have been mastered by now, after 10 years.

I’m not sure what you’re seeing wrong with them. The movement is robotic, but so are the real crew’s moves. I guess they could motion capture a real pit crew. For me no matter how good animation gets humans never look right. I think it’s built into us to recognize an imposter in nature and there are very subtle movement clues that will always set that off. For example there are CGI animals that have totally fooled me. But never a human, even in the best movies something puts them in the uncanny valley. As far as the car movements? They are a bit jerky I guess. I think the AI just takes over the game instead of them being theatrical cut scenes. Maybe they just don’t think they are that important. Or it’s for proper race timing. I never have watched that close, it’s always time for cookie or some water. Or for Kimi his “trink bottel”.
