Many people say that I forgot the weapons of some games but I want to explain the selection criteria in this list: 1) choose games BFGs with the mark of id software. 2) Even if it is a id software game, it must have some direct reference of the BFG (example: RAGE pulse cannon has a special ammunition called "BFG"). Weapons "inspired" by the BFG of other games should appear in a future "List of BFGs in other games" video. Examples of weapons not included: Fallout 4: BFG is just a creation kit mod and is not an id software game. Wolfenstein 2: Ubergewehr is a super weapon that "remembers" the BFG, but that does not mean that it is necessarily a reference to it. Quake 4: The Dark Matter Gun remembers the bfg10k but at no point in the game is it said that it has any connection to it.

@R Foda Pa Carai but in terms of practical use in combat you need to take into account more than impact. that impact means jack shit if your shot misses. but quake 2 and doom 2016s bfg still damage as they pass by. this is crucial because it takes from just launching a giant ball of plasma which otherwise might as well be an RPG. to a FLYING BALL OF DEATH AND DESTRUCTION

Actually no. It's extremely heavy? Yes. Does it have recoil? No. I don't want to get technical with you, but all you need to know is that firing a weightless ball of energy will have little to no recoil.

@@knafjallravenrefur9648 Yeah, but plasma has to be contained within some sort of magnetic bottle in order to travel through the air or it will quickly lose cohesiveness. Perhaps that also prevents the user from dying from the plasma's heat. Besides, plasma torches don't kill you from being that close.

I know of a BFG you didn't mention, the E-V Hyper Plasma Cannon 9000 It's from Sergeant Kelly's Weapon Pack, it's an addon ment to be used with the Ballistic Weapons mod, which is ment to be added onto Unreal Tournament 2004 It has a secondary fire that acts as an automatic plasma weapon, and it can be fired in automatic or semi automatic modes And also has a heat mechanic, you fire either primary or secondary too many times it'll explode, killing you and everyone around you You can speed up the cooling process by holding reload (a button the Ballistic Weapons Mod adds), which turns the weapon off for as long as you hold it And the only information the page grants on it is this: (Most of it is classified) "Some troops have been noted calling it a 'Big Fucking Gun'"

Played and watched all of them... Quake II and DOOM ( 2016 ) version with their homing Lasers emitting from the shot were, IMHO, the best ones - Especially the DOOM one with the sound it makes at the end. Effects wise, I wouldn't mind seeing the addition of the structure melting effect from the DOOM ( 2005 ) Movie in a game either - Pretty neat =)

The Q2 one is very satisfying also because the charging and reload sounds are the best of them all. Along with 2016 it is, as you observed, the most effective as well.

i love that the BFG in Quake 2 just tear the enemies to shreds even before it explodes.

Based on how much damage to Mars it made during the campaign. The BFG-10000 is capable of destruction roughly as large-scale as the destruction of a chunk of the earth in the adventure time universe. Judging by its surprisingly high rate of fire in spite of its size, we can only assume that the power setting on the BFG is low compared to how powerful it can truly get. If the bfg had the same shooting sounds as doom3 and the same explosion sounds as d64, it would be perfect

First version, in Doom and Doom II, was the best for multiplayer. It was hard to master because it didn't behave like it seemed, the detonation when the ball hit was emited from the gun in the exact direction the gun was pointing when firing the ball, wherever you're looking at. This is what made it a lot more interesting. Newest iterations are too straighforward, but of course more casual and friendly.

I like how the BFG 9000 and Moonlight Greatsword are both reoccurring weapons, have green projectiles, and are used by a boss in one of the studio’s games.

No matter what version... the BFG is a work of art.

I don't know what it is about the compressed stock sound of the original that sounds so satisfying, but god damn it sounds great.

Doom 3 plasma rifle and bfg reload is so damn satisfying...

How that BFG shot didn’t disintegrate that demon first try at 2:20 is beyond me

My first BFG experience was the QUAKE 2 (BFG 10K) one, the smile on my face when i see this gun in action

I remember when I first watched the Doom movie in 2005 that I felt let down when the BFG shot was colored blue. I mean the entire film was already a let down, especially the storyline where the entire conflict came about from man-made genetic experiments with Martian microbes & not the unlocking of the dimension to a hostile extraterrestrial invasion (Hell) as in the video games. Why did Carmack approved of this? So having the BFG shot colored blue instead of green just added on to the disappointment. I think had they made the bfg shot green, I would then have subconsciously accepted the film maybe another 2%. I did like having Dwayne's character being nicknamed Sarge, because to me that was a tiny homage to Quake 3. Today though, I have seen comments saying that the film is now being accepted a little bit better because of disappointments from Doom games in the past decade. I don't know myself. I do hope that one day another Doom movie might come out & that it is a reboot & will actually use the exact storyline from the games. And have a proper-looking BFG which a character will use & the shot will actually look like a big menacing GREEN-glowing plasmic ball of destruction.

I was hesitant to include it. It is a mod of the creation club is not a dlc or official of the game and Fallout 4 not an original Id game. But I will keep it in my memory, when doom eternal come out I will make an updated video and I can add it.

I always loved the basic soldiers in Q2. Something about that grizzly "fuock youu" as they died always brought a smile to my face. ^^

Doom 64 has PS1 sound effects.

Existence of a huge BFG 10K in Doom Eternal shows that there will be at least one huge opponent to beat. Probably a Titan or Icon of Sin.

At the end of Rage 2 and i don’t know how I’ve never seen this beastly weapon. Sure I’ve used it in Doom but now I wanna try it out in Rage 2.

The final BFG 10,000 firing looks like taking a shit. It starts slowly, easing out, until blasting

Quake 2's BFG is the sexiest of all IMO

I'll never forget what it was like to pick up the BFG in the 2016 remake. I immediately started growling, "somebody please come fuck with me".

I can only see Doomslayer trying desperately to rip BFG in Doom Eternal off and carry it around.

late reply but yes completely agree, the thunder sound when it hits makes you feel extremely overpowered.

My favorite BFG is still the one featured in Quake II, and not only because I'm a devoted Q2 fan since its release. The BFG10K is terribly effective without being overkill, it uses 50 cells so you have to use it wisely, and the mechanics involving the green laser beams it emits are more complex than at first sight. My only complaint is that the only enemy who uses it is the Makron, while it would have been nice to see it a bit more often.
