first of all...the Camaro is closer to the mic and that may be partially true the evo was the only thing heard when it was 2 stepping

Comes down to the Setup though this sounds more like a 3" exhaust with a Middle sized cam also the tuner might not of tuned it to Lump as loud as it could, Stock Cams can be Lumpy with a good tuner, My Old 8 MR Here in Australia would Brapbrapbrap Over Holden LS7/LSA Models here which were Cammed, 3" Ti + Gsc S2s & my Current Setup in a Evo 3 is 3.5+ Ti 4" dump/front an Kelford 276/278 Much more Crazy cams for Loop out there 280/280 290/290 even 300/302

TacoMiza It was a buddys car, it was a 6466 Precision Turbo, can't remember if it was t3 or t4. It's been a while. Fully built 2.1 block. Built tranny.
