This was the first Evo I went to. I wasn't very familiar with KoF13 but I went to the final stage just to show support since it was new to Evo. I was not prepared for the hype. This was one of the most electric finals in Evo of all time. Literally turned me into a KoF fan.

@@shyguywhite Oh with the release of the new KoF it pushed 13 away and I don't think he liked the new KoF enough to try and make it back to a finals stage. He streams every once in a while though.

I watched this with my brother, who doesn't even play fighting games since Street Fighter 2 on snes. He sat down and sat through almost the entire match. That's how big the finals for KoF was. Well deserved hype.

The crowd gives me goosebumps man, this thing was breathtaking.

I come back to this video every few years and it’s still so hype. The commentary and the crowd take it to another level!

Man everything about this match was epic the chanting, close calls, and combos. Both sides gave a show to keep the crowd entertained.

This was sick. I'm not even into KoF and this was the most intense match I've seen since PR Balrog vs Viscant in the MVC3 grand finals at evo 2011.

One of the best finals, extremely entertaining and high quality play, also great scene at the end with the team celebrating together. Definitely did the fighting game community proud!

Still the greatest match at Evo. Who is watching this in 2020?

38:30 Whenever I watch this, I always come back later. Why? Because he told me to. And because this was a fantastic match with incredibly energetic commentary. Just awesome. I wish the grand finals for KOF XIII at EVO 2014 were this good.

These sportmanship nearly made me shed a manly tears, proud to be KOF community, and imagine how proud SNK and ATLUS would be to produce these game to these kind of hype...this type of quality would ensure KOF longevity in the fighting game genre. long live KOF

This was two years ago but I still can't stop watching it!

Absolutely legendary match for the best KOF game ever made. Iconic.

I tuned in expecting to only watch the UMvC3 finals and AE2012, but this match had me captivated more than any other. Continuous back and forth, outstanding play on both sides, and one of the most insane comebacks of the night at 36:15 ! This MADE EVO for me this year.

As much as I hate to see Bala lose I have to admit that reaching the finals for a Mexican player means alot to me. This damn series gets people's blood boiling. Bala's adaptability to Chin is a great testament to just how the human mind can evolve in a matter of milliseconds to enact a better strategy against his opponent. This is at the core of not only the fighting game mindset, but something one carries in life. Adapt and put up a fight or take a beating. Either way you are not running from a fight.

I remember watching a clip of Bala’s comeback on Xplay when I was a kid. Had the casters’ recation stuck in the back of my head since. Can’t believe I’ve finally found it!

Clearly, and by far, the most amazing and intense match of the whole tournament. Most incredible matchl I´ve ever seen

This is why I love fighting games because they are just so intense and take real skill. Damn I was glued watching this. EPIC! WOW!

Amazing set! I just started watching some KoF XIII streams last week. I've been absolutely ADDICTED since. This looks like an incredible game with a lot of depth and great balance. Ordering my copy for Black Friday :)

This was amazing play by both Bala and MadKOF. Both deserve massive props for providing us with this blast of a final. Also, the commentators were badass.

This was the best match I've seen in a WHILE. Definitely a Top 10 favorite match.

I have never played any KOF.. but my jaw is still dropping at the skill on display here.

Dang, I just finished watching the first match and it's already mad hype. I've never played KOF but this might just convert me.

My favorite EVO match to this day. I was so freaking hyped when I saw this live

I read several comments that Bala took every different characters and MadKOF used same characters during whole final. If you look Bala's table from winner's final seriously, you people notice that Bala tried to keep Billi, Takuma and Xhen. However, Billi got beaten by MadKOF's DuoLon so Bala just tried to find Billi's substitute. Bala did need to find out the way to kick out MadKOF's DuoLon and Chin. MadKOF didn't need to change because his DuoLon and Chin fought well with the Bala's masterpiece. You people don't have to give any big meaning on changing character. Also nobody thought Chin is great character before this final. After EVO 12, gamers notice potential of Chin. So Reynald used Chin on EVO13. MadKOF is the guy who use rare character. He used King on EVO 13.

Bala tus primeros 15 segundos con Clarck ( el ciego) fueron gloriosos se te quiere joven maestro.

Most of the hype of this match was because of Bala's skills. MAD Kof is really good, but really... that Clark was in for the kill! I hope Bala gets the time and sponsors to bring more epic battles to EVO.

The close up onto Bala's face after that while the crowd goes wild behind him is so great. Bala is just so in his own head at that point - MadKoF had been mentally beating him into the ground up until then. Bala looking totally emotionless - the juxtaposition of the wild crowd behind him gets me every time.

I remember watching this live in 2012. Bala's Takuma comeback match was maximum hype. Nothing surpassed it

In random pick surely he can beat everyone but in games where you pick the character where you are best at then yeah he will have a bit of a problem like how we are watching it now. Still he is a very good player and yeah I do like to master Ralf the way Bala does.

Siempre serás una leyenda BALA porque pudiste ser el primer latinoamericano en ganar la EVO... y aunque perdiste, el respeto que se te tiene es real y nunca se te olvidará. Espero que algún día ganes, ya sea jugando KoF XV o bien, cualquier otro videojuego del género. PD: Nada es mejor que la EVO, simplemente es el mejor evento que existe de los videojuegos en general y, los momentos que dió y seguirá dando son totalmente históricos e inigualables.

Damn i see alot of hateful comments about both especially on Bala but heres this Bala mastered every character now he can pick anyone and stull kick anyones ass madkof has stuck with the same characters even til now he only plays with about 6 characters out of like 30 thats why madkof couldnt even win evo 2013 or 2014 cuz his style of play is always the same and before someone tells me oh bala didnt even go to evo 2013 or 2014 well because its fuckin hard for a mexican to get a visa because immigration laws and shit are way more tougher on mexicans than any other race thats why dont get me wrong they are both great players im a fan of madkofs Goro but dont hate on bala for being a god of a kof player

Jose Villa Nah, you obviously weren't watching the latest MadKof matches, he can play Diamon, Vice, Raiden and other less common characters. Besides it doesn't matter how many characters you can play if you can't win the match. Not to discredit Bala, he did dominate for quite a while back in 2011 and 2012 but calling him god is overestimating him.

Yea i know i even said madkof knows about 6 characters and i said i was a fan of his goro but if you havent seen Bala play in todays time then you dont know his skill he improved so damn much its not even human he plays every character at tournament lvl and i say hes a kof god because hes good at not just kof 13 but older ones too especially 2002 ive seen madkof play kof 98 but he lost all 8 but one metch he had Bala loses but not as much as how madkof has

Jose Villa Got your point, but let me add something here. Most pro players only play roughly 6 characters or even less in tournaments, even the top 8 of Evo 2013 and 2014 so there's nothing wrong with only knowing 6 characters as obviously you don't need to be able to play every character. The fact Mad Kof is constantly switching his team and let's not forget made top 4 in all 3 Evos prove he knows his stuff and is not as linear as you think. I'm okay with you liking Bala and I too give him applause for his skill but discrediting someone (MadKof) cause he's not multi Evo champ is just bleh. Secondly there are other players like Xiao Hai and ET who can play not only kof XIII but also other Kofs, so again calling Bala god cause he can play more than one game is still overestimating due to the fact there are other players who can play more than one KOF.

I understand but i dont count xiao hai or tokido as im only talkin about bala and madkof and also they are just top teir whores they always need ex iori kim and mr karate to win thats noob status which is y i find madkof to be better then them and it makes bala a more better tournament player since he uses pretty much everyone in tournaments and wins pretty much all of them yes madkof entered in evo and placed top 4 bala couldve done the same but since the US government is always more picky to mexicans its harder to get visas and since you are mentioning other asian players let me name some hispanics theres Kanibalito, Kula, Romance, etc

Jose Villa Nah you are not only talking about Bala and MadKof, when you call someone a god you are comparing him to everybody else and I'm saying Bala's no god cause other people can also play multi Kof titles and be very dominating too. Yeah Xiao Hai and Tokido are top tier whores but they are still placed top 1 and 2 in Evo 2014 and as cheap those characters are you have to respect them for "refining" those characters to the level they are. Everyone has the option to play those cheap characters and they chose to not play them at their own expense. Also from what I understand Kanibalito is also a top tier whore, he did beat Reynald in NCR 2014 but he used the Ex Iori, Kim, and Karate combo. Romance did do very well in the earlier stages of Kof but as of 2014 and 2015 he's not as dominating as he used to be.

I was expecting the game to be dying by now, been out for almost a year. I'm east coast, massachusetts. this amazing fight is part of the reason why 5 of our OGs picked this game up outta nowhere and they're coming up very quickly. I love this game with everything I've got and I'm so fucking hype that not only are people still playing it, but more people are picking it up.

Respect for bala. Hate watching kim, duo lon, mr karate, chin, and iori every match lol At least bala bringing something new to the table

This match was the reason why there's more Duo Lons and Chin in the first place they were rare in both tournament and casual level Bala used other characters in hopes that he can use their kit to handle Duo Lon and Chin. If you want to watch games with more diversity in characters though watch international tournaments sad to say this but tournament wise in the USA they are more concerned in winning so they use these characters just because they are easy to use and have more options with their move sets.

This still the best moment in EVO for me. Of course Daigo parry on moment 34 are great, but goddamn this match with the infinite bracket loop was insane.
