dr. Reagan....I attended San Felipe School (the old Courthouse) in Old Town Albuquerque in the early1950s...the sisters of charity and the Jesuit beloved priest who weekly visited our 3rd grade classroom for doctrinal teaching taught us "the Jews killed Jesus"....we would chant that phrase aloud walking home from school. Many of us were descendents of Onate's Exped into NM and have hidden Jewish roots...my "secret" hidden unused, middle name is Bar-tola.

Absolutely shocked to discover the number of church fathers speak so against the Jews. More so Martin Luther and Calvin. I need to have further explanation on Dr. Kennedy as I did not truly understand what he was saying…it was confusing.

When you read their writings it is SHOCKING. I ordered the book Luther wrote and I just wept. If you read then re listen I think you will fully comprehend.

I disagree with parts of this message, specifically the potential idea that one is saved/redeemed/heaven-bound apart from faith and trust in Jesus alone (Acts 4:11-12, written by Jewish Peter to Jewish leaders stating that there is salvation in no one else besides Jesus). Faith in Jesus alone for salvation is hands-down the essence of Christianity. It seems Dr. Reagan is suggesting that one can be saved/chosen/heaven-bound by being born with the right DNA and observing the law as a Jew. I hope I'm wrong. I guess the big question for me is "Can one stay/be/remain God's chosen people (Jews) and yet be rejected into heaven, not receiving eternal salvation?" After he lists all of the consensus of theologians in church history who were apparently wrong on this subject (I agree many were way over the top in not showing basic Christian love/being unchristian in their writings about anyone in humanity), I understand Dr. Reagan's entire premise to be in his conclusion that the Jewish people/remnant, in their capacity as Jewish people, would someday before the Second Coming exclaim Matthew 23:39, "Blessed be the name of the Lord" and therefore this verse shows that Jewish people, as such, will be saved and are still God's chosen. The problem with saying that this Bible verse exclamation saves the Jewish race, is that once a Jewish person (or any person) exclaims Matthew 23:39, an expression of faith and trust in Jesus Himself, that Jewish person is now a Christian, thus becoming part of the Christian community, the church. This reinforces the idea that the church/faith in Jesus is the only "Noah's Ark" inside which one is saved, not Judaism. Which is the very replacement theology that Dr. Reagan says is evil. I'm confused. I guess I'm looking for Biblical proof that God says He's going to save a class/race of people based on DNA, apart from faith. Or maybe God is going to do a predestination/election of the Jewish race (who can understand whom God elects?) because of His promises to them? But even if God calls/gathers/enlightens/changes the Jewish mind and changes hearts of stone to hearts of flesh to follow Him (Ez. 36:26), this still means they are saved by grace through Faith in Jesus, not because of Judaism.

A shame that some of the early church fathers had this conflicting theology as some of them had solid eschatology, even an understanding of a restoration of national Israel before the return of The Messiah.

I often wonder so many prophecy teachers keep pushing their books from the podium? It reminds me of the Lord in the Temple turned over tables because they were using it to market their wares? I wish someone would explain that to me. I really respect most of them, but struggle with this .

Yeah...I know what you mean. I believe the N.T. expression is "making merchandise of you". Some books are good, many are not. The one thing I would add is something similar to what King Solomon said when he said" the making of many books is wearying" ...I would observe that with so many books to read "the reading of books has become wearying". I would also say that too many books to read leads some people not to read "THE BOOK"...and that's one way they get many wacky unBiblical ideas.

Antisemitism or not from the early church fathers does not disprove “replacement theology”. Where do we believe the church fathers derived their ideas, thoughts, and beliefs about the unbelieving Jews of the early church? Why would they say these things? They must have had some basis for doing so. And why is it a bad thing for Jews to renounce their religion if that is what they believe is the path to salvation? You cannot trust your heritage or your religion and be joined to Christ or His Church. Apart from Christ and the new covenant they are not the people of God, nor do they have God as their father.

13:20 - Augustine was the greatest theologian of the early church? I don’t deny his significance in church history, but he was far from great.

An allegorist. He and others who took this view of interpretation suppressed others like Irenaeus...and his view that teaching against a pre-trib rapture was heresy ( from his book "On Heresies")

NOWHERE does the Book of Isaiah say, "the Lord says this to the church" in the 1611 Original King James Bible (which can be read online). The word "church" does NOT appear ANYWHERE in the Book of Isaiah in any version of the King James Bible, and certainly not in "every chapter" ! All scriptures are directed to the "children of Israel", or "Jacob", "Israel", "Zion", or "Judah", "my people" and to the "priests", "prophets" and "kings" of Israel. Dr. Reagan's other quotes from other church leaders may be true (and are shame on the church) but this claim is NOT. In fact, most of the Book of Isaiah is rebuking the Jewish people for their sins, though redemption and restoration is promised to them in the end.

This was so powerful! It’s always been completely obvious from the Bible that God is keeping promises to the Jews (who we are grafted into) makes the idea of replacement theology wrong. But I had NO IDEA about the hideous past of Christians in this matter! This sheds light on why Jews often hate Christians. It’s not just their dispute over Jesus. Vitally important and timely. The "Christian" leaders saying these horrible things certainly didn't read the Bible to know the wrath He will pour upon them. Just think of all the people that believed them because they thought a leader would tell the truth.

@kerriweiland4772 Actually, Israel was a shadow of Yeshua, who was the True Israel. Judaism was the man made teligion they developed after all Israelites were freed by Cyrus to return and rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. There was a reason YAHAVAH's glory and the Ark if the Covenant never returned to the Temple. They were to be looking forward to the New Covenant and their messiah. To claim that they didn't kill their messiah is not supported by scripture. Sin was the reason He died but whoah to them by who the actual offense came. Also, Yeshua died to free us from the bonds of sin, not to captivate us by guilt of imperfection. That was what the law did. We aren't them, and they had the opportunity to be "saved" from the promises given under the law (complete destruction). Thankfully, some trusted in Christ their messiah and were indeed saved from destruction. However, to claim it wasn't the Jews that bore the guilt for the cruzafiction is just... not Biblical.

An unfortunate accident seams to be the position of my church who also stresses the sovereignty of God to the point of eliminating any free will. Just doesn't add up. Is God sovereign? Yes. Does that mean the Jews of today could possibly be unintended by God? Not if you believe in His sovereignty. I seam to remember reading about where God will again turn His face towards Isreal. I seam to remember it says "for His namesake" and that 1/3 of them will be brought through the fire and then ALL Isreal will be saved. The definate article ALL is given (I believe) to include both Isreal who accepts her messiah and the church who has been grafted in and made to be heirs as sons

Replacing the church with Old Testament Israel is evil, for sure. Paul links those who obey the King’s commands (I.e. the Church) as the Israel of God. Gal 6:15-16-“For neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. And as for all who walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.”

Yeshua was the true vine. True Israel are those who trust in Him. If you don't trust in Yeshua you simply arn't Israel your Jewish.

I find it strange and quite hypocritical how a lot of "Christian churches" throughout history up to today claim for themselves the blessing bestowed on Israel for obedience but ignore the very same curses for sin and rebellion they themselves have done to this very day.
