Evil The Offering Review - 2019 Bible of Bike Tests

Спорт

The BMW M5 (Evil Offering) isn’t a one trick pony like, say, the Audi R8 (Yeti SB 130). It’s comfortable and sophisticated, but also fast and menacing. You can drop your kids off to school with it with or take it on a cross-country road trip, and then head over to the track, drift every corner, and burn the Pirellis right off it.

    Hi Folks. Thanks for the review. I own a Following MB, and the one qualm I have with it is that the front end wanders a bit when climbing. How would you all compare the Offering's climbing characteristics versus the MB?

  • @SWFlowseeker

    @SWFlowseeker

    5 жыл бұрын

    Dave Farrell The Offering has a better position for pedaling than the MB. The seat angle does make a difference for sure. I own both bikes, if I had to just have one I would go with Offering based solely on seat angle. My MB is set with 130 fork and Offering is set at 150.

    I completely disagree with the zip tie comment. Personally, I much prefer external cable routing which is so much easier to replace housing when needed.

  • @KieronHoward

    @KieronHoward

    5 жыл бұрын

    Having just built up a bike with external routing, I disagree. Well designed internal routing (Ibis,Santa Cruz etc) is easy as you just feed it through and job done, no cable ties and looks so much nicer. Maybe takes 30 seconds longer than external. It also allows for higher tolerance with cable length as any excess is hidden in the frame.

    I'm 5'10" and I got the medium. I like the feel of the medium. I have the Following MB in Medium and it feels much smaller than the Medium Offering though I like the size medium for me in both bikes. I think the longer reach on the Offering has something to do with why it feels bigger. I think you may find the Medium just right at 5'8". Bike size is a degree of personal preference though.

    The bike is solid and my Ebike conversion went great. kzread.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Very smooth ride at 30mph with no problems (135 miles ridden so far). The picture is a bit deceiving - there is WAY less space in the center of the frame than it shows. The suspension connection takes up the entire thing. So I needed to attach my battery on the bottom of the frame and my controller on the top. Instructions for assembly were lacking but honestly it wasn't too hard to figure out even though I have very little bike knowledge. Watched some youtube videos on adjusting the disk brakes but that was it. Still, I am loving it and very happy with the purchase.

  • @TaylorMoss15

    @TaylorMoss15

    4 жыл бұрын

    The Offering is far more nimble than the Wreckoning. The Wreckoning doesn't let you pick your own lines, it just runs over everything in its path while keeping you confidently on the bike. The Offering has enough travel to ride some bigger stuff without sacrificing the playfulness and maneuverability.

    For as nice as these bikes ride it does piss me off that they have external cable routing, stickers instead of paint for decals, poor QC now that they've changed their factory and that I've had customers' bikes that come with the wrong specs! Not to mention the rumors that they screw over their riders/contract workers. For as expensive as they are and how little margin they have I would expect more... they do ride better than anything else though, if they fixed a few of these issues they would be my favourite company but they just drop the ball on everything other than ride quality. Overall... >:C
